Angelys Pear

This is an amazing, refreshing, a bit spicy, and juicy scent. It does have a peculiar oakmoss accord, however, that just gives to it and does not take from it. The overall scent that so-to-say ripes on the skin remains joyful, uplifting, and sweet. Yes, sweet. On my skin, it is sweet. Not cloying at all. Refreshingly sweet - and a bit sour, which I adore. This combination is among my favourite ones. It does remind me of the Amyris Femme Extrait - and this is what I was looking for, given the price range of the MFK Extrait.

Crisp, soapy, green, fruity--really nice vintage Cristalle vibes. This summer has been a punishing one, and all I can seem to eat is cold fruit out of the fridge. I can't seem to get enough of limpid scents like this one. One spritz and it cools the air around me. There's nothing like a chypre to help you feel pulled together. Highly recommended for daytime work wear, and for saving your vintage stash.

Fantastic fresh pear scent. It’s really nice, light and fresh. Unfortunately very poor longetivity on my skin.

Sampled tonight from a dabber, on skin. A very pleasant, classy, feel-good perfume, with what I consider the most realistic pear note I've experienced so far, which dominates for a good while. For me the next noticeable ingredients would be moss and rose, which cause it to lean quite feminine, and the long drydown is pleasantly soapy. Guys who get into dandy, Kurkdjian-type stuff would still be able to wear it. Regardless, a very likable scent that would fit right into a nice spring or summer day. And certainly one for a seeker of realistic pear, instead of the typical candy one. What an impressive talent Patricia is. This sort of thing makes me wonder what she would have accomplished at Guerlain's helm.

It's inexplicable to me that pear is not a more common scent in perfumery given that it is so singular and so delicious. Pear is the dominant note in this chypre, but as others describe below, thanks to the green notes at the top, this smells much more like a spring pear or the skin of a pear than a juicy and fully ripened summer pear. It's a very pleasant smell, but it stays pretty close to my skin. The oakmoss is evident almost immediately, and blends well with the musk and the patchouli for the drydown. I like this very much, but its sillage is too quiet for me to justify a full bottle. It might make a good office fragrance for that reason, though.

Interesting, on tester I got an unmistakable, very realistic fresh pear beginning, but the second I put it on hand, it collapse to a indescribable mixture of fruity floral, with a bit soda water edge. But no, don’t be disappointed yet. Another interesting fruit stands out from soft sweet fruity background: NOT pear, but Yuzu. Big, juicy, very SOUR yuzu, so sour it almost has a rusty tendency but not nearly there. The sour Yuzu lasts for quite a while, then retreat back the soft, slightly sweet floral-fruity background.

I am a big fan of Nicolai perfumes. I don’t know how she creates such beautiful, almost Asian in their delicacy, fragrances. And they LAST! My favorite is still MiXte though. This one feels so cool on the skin. Love the Oakmoss dry down. This will make any hot, humid day more bearable.

This was a solid like for me. The fruity notes formed a delightfully tart blend that worked pretty well with the green and floral notes. It’s nothing too fancy, but still nice enough to wear casually. I can’t imagine anyone being offended by this unless the wearer bathes in it.

This is a lovely pear scent that isn’t a sweet, syrupy pear fragrance. Pear stays pretty dominant throughout but it’s mingled nicely with the florals and greens and doesn’t get cloying. Dry down is a jasmine musk smell. A soft fragrance.

Not to yuck anyone's yum, but I'll come back and write which soap/hand sanitizer this smells like once I remember it. I love pear and I'm disappointed. I like it, but I only have a 2 mL sample and I will not be getting a bottle.

Angelys Pear opens with a pear note, then later on flowers into an intriguing green perfume which reminds me very much of Chanel #19 and of Balmain's vintage Vent Vert. On my skin this is always a beautiful drydown. Unfortunately for me, although not necessarily for my budget, I have a hard time with the pear topnote. I didn't realize I dislike this fruit note, even though I have a long track record of despising fruity scents. I think Angelys Pear is rather distinctive, elegant, and will appeal to a green scent afficionado. As for me, I'll stick to my Murasaki, Capucci's Graffiti, Givenchy III, and a few others, mostly all long gone!

This is a watery green pear fragrance that toes the line between chypre and aquatic. A dangerous line for me, an aquatic hater. I am smelling a lot of oakmoss, which I'm not very fond of as a note. I can see how others could love this. nfbw for me. -

I have worn 17 different perfumes from Nicolai Parfumeur in an immersive exploration and this is the only one which has failed to have any impact on me. I'm hugely disappointed. It's watery, thin, generic-fruity and utterly nondescript. After half an hour I can only detect it by putting my nose to my skin which is appalling for anything other than a cheapie; and this isn't a cheapie. There's a lemon-tinged bergamot with a fruity vibe which develops an aquatic note eventually joined by oakmoss; a weird, discordant union of notes which failed to create anything of interest. The perfumer is aiming for "the purity of air and a calm, serene ambience" and has instead achieved a kind of nothingness which mostly resembles distraction. I love this perfume house and I own 17 bottles of their perfumes but I wish this wasn't one of them. Distillation: purity of air in a nondescript perfume most disappointing EDIT: It takes a lot for me to give up on a perfume. I've been lifting this out of the doldrums by layering with Maison Margiela's Under The Lemon Tree. It comes alive with a bit of high-quality zing.

I suppose it does smell like pear, not synthetic at all, it smells like a real pear. In that case I suppose it's a great fragrance. I found it very one note, which is not bad but since the initial smell is not really pretty I felt the following notes could add to it or help it but they didn't. Perhaps for aromatherapy if you want the smell of pear but not a synthetic pear which means it smells kinda weird. Most of nature unless is something like lavender smells a bit strange. Very good quality, lasts long but I didn't it find it useful for wearing or aromatherapy. The guy at the store recommended it which means there's people who DO enjoy it.

On me, this quickly became almost pure skin scent. Not for me.

one of the worst fragrances I've ever try. It breaks down into a sour hell as soon as I apply it to the skin, leaving behind a cheap, chemical synthetic smell, I can't believe Nicolai produces this crap

I thought I had a plan until those musky green notes attacked my nose. This smells 100% like Aloe Purell Hand Sanitizer. No androgyny here, this is definitely debutante territory. There's a classic impression to the heart of this fragrance. A bright seam of tartness offers balance and lift to the sour lemon and crisp fruit tones. A touch of rose adds depth, with more pronounced lemon-flavored tones in abundance. That shot of tartness never compromises the verdent elements and does a fine job of keeping everything fresh and vibrant. The base boasts of musky portions with an overall theme of spring. I've written my assessment of this fragrance but at the same time, I'm gonna disqualify myself. Again, this is a woman's perfume not unisex. This is my personal hell but possibly your personal heaven.

For some reason, I imagine this is exactly how Margarita might have smelled while carrying those hateful yellow flowers on her way to meet the Master. There is something cold, melancholic, dark and tragic about this fragrance — like the atmosphere of an old black-and-white film. The pear here is not juicy or cheerful, but muted, retro and almost sorrowful, wrapped beautifully in violet. The fragrance feels noble, elegant and deeply literary in character. It tells a story rather than simply smelling pleasant. And honestly, I find the comparisons to English Pear & Freesia completely misplaced. They are not even close — this fragrance possesses far more depth, mood and personality.

The only reason I didn't like this at first, was because I was expecting a sweet, juicy ripe pear. However, why I've come to love and appreciate it so much is because it's not any of those things. This is the scent I crave now, at the dawn of Spring. It's a crisp dry green chypre pear fragrance. Imagine the dark green skin of a conference Pear. It's slightly sour, it's slightly dry, and it's slightly earthy. I love how it opens very sparlking, Tart and bright with a lime feel. The moss quickly creeps up and takes it to this chypre bite. It's a mouth quenching crisp sour bite of an under ripened Conference Pear.

Upon first spray, I get a green pear note....exceptionally realistic....it is soft, not screechy or synthetic at all...I'd say she hit the nail on the head. It doesn't steal my heart but I do appreciate it's craftsmanship and elegance. It sits close to the skin and is very elegant. I just sprayed about 2 hours ago and it's still present, but no idea about the longevity. If you're looking for an understated and pure essence of pear for spring or summer, this would be a good place to start.

Nectar of the Gods: It smells like the type of pear with the brown skin being soaked in sparkling spring water and simple syrup, drinking up the refreshing pear essence in such upscale and gourmet packaging. Refinement, simple elegance and the kind of minimalistic beauty that takes you back to the appreciation of the simple things in everyday life. They have turned this into art. It is dainty, demure, spritely and delicately sweet (only of a miniscule nature). Ahhh... it is divinity.

There's no mistaking this is a pretty pear scent. In fact I think the opening is quite beautiful. What ruins it for me is the moss that joins the party pretty quickly. Eventually this pretty thing turns kind of dusty and musty and the beautiful sweet pear disappears. I've experienced this with other Nicolai scents as well. I'd love to see the house tone down the moss, but this was fun to try for sure.

I don't know if this is the famed faux oakmoss accord that Patricia di Nicolai made to replace the regulated oak moss, but it certainly smells like real oak moss to me. This is a dry, slightly tart pear chypre. The pear is realistic pear skin, not a juicy gourmand synthetic pear. Very elegant. If you like this kind of fragrance, you will love this.

Beautiful and green musky pear. Perfect for European spring and summer. Pear is very juicy and fresh. Almost like it is not entirely ripened yet. It is very long lasting considering it is EDT concentration. Super impressive work and must-have for freshly-sweet scent lovers. 10 out of 10!

Was really looking forward to that pear and citrus. It's there but gets overwashed by something that smells like seaweed...musty and wet. Kinda ruins it for me sadly but guess I'm just not a huge chypre fan. ** 200 samples for swap UK - check my custom shelves and get in touch! **

It was a blind buy for me. Wow, moss dominates on me, and the whole experience is very close to Chanel Cristalle edt, which frag I adore. Though I was curious of the below mentioned performance of the pear note.

This needs cooler weather, I can smell some flowers like carnation or similar, some citrus and oakmoss. It has vitage, mature vibe and can be worn as evening fragrace on winter evening.

It seems the base is overly dominating the whole show. It performs very well with good strong sillage, but I'd politely skip.. 100ml is half price to become around $90+.

A generic, uninspired household cleaner smell. It's a shame because pear could be such a beautiful note.
