Bigarade

I was pleased to receive my original Bigerade from a very generous seller in France, complete with vivid orange box that as another reviewer pointed out is extremely Hermes-esque. The bottles are the heavy glass ribbed types from this particular Ricci era, with shining golden fluted lids. My best description of the fragrance is swampy orange, better left alone if you don't love that unapologetic oakmoss. It's powdery and surprisingly light despite the mossy notes. Maybe it's the aldehydes but I'm very reminded of Chanel here, there's definitely a similar vein running through which isn't a bad thing.

Fresh orange with a mysterious dankness to it, but I might be crazy 'cause I perceive fragrances differently from others sometimes. I got a full 3.4 oz bottle of this on eBay for a good price a few years ago; it's 1/2 gone so I must really like it! The bottle is astonishingly stark and pretty with an orange band around the bottom of the cap. That orange box is TDF; it looks like Hermes something or another.

Fresh citrus, very light, but also a bit resinous. I bought this on Ebay a while ago as a part of my NR Collection, and it seems to be just a bit dated. I think that this slightly resinous caracter makes it a bit more strong and bold. I think the fragrance is wonderfull. What a shame that it was only sold from 1971 until 1975 when it was discontinued, very sad for such a great fragrance.

I am dating myself but I had this and wore it as a young undergraduate as my first "real" fragrance. I loved it then and love it still. NOTHING else is like it. I wish they hadn't discontinued it or would bring the original formula back. It was light and fresh and sweet just like I was when I was that young (BWAHAHAHAHAHA)

Almost grapefruit...the top note.....then a nice unfolding that might suggest leather/tobacco...without any heaviness and especially no cloying sweetness.... Today this vintage scent is making me smile on a full day.

This wonderful scent deserves to be reissued, it's a shame it was ever discontinued.

Invigorating, bracing and sharp. I hope they never re-formulate it.
