Capricci

Capricci has stolen my heart and won’t give it back, not until a find myself a bottle at least. This decant from the 1960s, I believe, is unspeakably stunning. It’s been a long time since a scent has left me near-enough speechless, but this ethereal floral did just that. The soft, dusty impression of orris is made sweet and candied, slightly powdery, with a strong resemblance to parma violets. This sugared floral has just a whisper of green aromatics, like buds yet to blossom amongst their elders, with white florals lending a gentle, clean soapiness. The end result is incredibly delicate, innocent and surprisingly sweet. I absolutely adore this scent, they truly don’t make florals like this anymore. It actually reminds me of Chanel’s Misia, which obviously came out decades after this, and I wonder if there was any inspiration there. Either way, this is a god-tier floral.

@reborn Capricci doesn't smell old or dated, I think it's blasphemous to categorize it that way. It smells of another time. Just like Farouche, it smells romantic, hazy, all meadows and daisies. Ticklish giggles and golden hair. If you liked the orientals of the 80's, which for me I consider as the golden age of the genre, then Capricci is an altogether different experience. Before, I dismissed florals as boring but this one smells so beautiful that it could bring you to tears. Capricci is a superbly-blended floral with oakmoss, iris root and rose as main accords. All other else rounds off the composition. It's truly wonderful and doesn't smell like any other. I quite disagree with the accords above. To me it smells sweet, chalky, somewhat balsamic, powdery and rosy. Seek the parfum :) Hope that helps. Edit: I’ve read in some text that Marcel Carles created this.

Capricci is a sort of countryside rose. A countryside rose for dames. A real classy perfume for a Windsor. A sort of Aromatics Elixir purified and perfect for an etoile of the dance. Many roses that open clear and fresh and then dry out in a game of small woods and aromatic herbs warmed by the sun. Real perfection in balance. Pretty soapy. Romantic nostalgic but in a quite happy way. SO FRENCH SO CHIC. I can't believe in such ignorance about Nina Ricci. That is not an italian brand and it has never been. She was french. Only the surname is italian but she was italian like di Caprio or Madonna are. The brand was born in Paris in the 30s when she was about in her 50es.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a feminist fragrance long before the famous feminist decade 84-94. It is a perfume to be worn on a feminist suit with a jacket with double buttons. It is a perfume made for elegance, but a cold and sober elegance. It smells green, slightly floral, vibrates with some very interesting wood notes and last but not least, it has a spicy aura, but spiced in a subtle way.Is that a woman dressed in a suit from 90 style, who seems very calm in a meeting and suddenly she got up from her chair at the head of the table and punch it. I just love this perfume

Strong fragrance - got the vintage parfum and it's so beautifully floral and woody like it dances from one to the other while blending in your skin. It is classic and fresh and herbal all at the same time. Timelessly sexy like if a woman wore this I would be following her trail because it gets intoxicating that's how beautiful this is.

Capricci is like the cooler, better-looking cousin of Fidji from one side of the family and Antilope from the other. It has the bone dry woodiness of Antilope, plus the gorgeous florals of Fidji. But somehow not trying so hard. Absolutely exquisite.

I know this perfume thanks to my mom. I still remember its tender scent and always will. If I find it, I'll definitely buy it. It is one of the very few exceptions I would make on Italian perfumes, as I usually prefer French.

I discovered this around 1970 and it just might be my all-time favorite. It's so well blended that I really can't detect its notes. I just smell Capricci. Perfection.

Just received this one in a set of 4 (with L'Air du Temps, Farouche and Fleur de Fleurs), sent as a present from a pal in Australia for my birthday, and what a lovely gift! This Ricci is one that I had never tried, and of coure it is a bit hard to get these days, so I hadn't really thought about it over the years - I was delighted with it! Just a little reminiscent of Diorissimo (yum+) in the drydown, very feminine and lovely. Had no idea it has been discontinued (I worked in a hospital for years and of course we were forbidden to wear fragrance of any kind, so I had to put my love of perfume on hold for a few years), very disappointed that this one is no longer and also very glad for the lovely present that included it! A wonderful womanly scent. I would recommend anyone try this one out if you get the chance, it is truly lovely.

A very soft, sunny scent, great for daytime and office wear, with a nice herbal heart that gives it a little whiff of herbs de provence. Projection and sillage are not great, but that is not a flaw, rather I believe this is by design. Good for a job interview scenario--or going to court :) this is a fragrance that is impossible to find offensive. At the same time, if you lean in close enough to really smell this scent, it is undeniably sexy and sensual. A feminine floral with a unisex citrus herb component. I think of this one as The Practical Romantic.

I found a vintage bottle at a flea market. It's an EdT but holy shit, it is potent and long lasting. Smells like a modest sweet lady, but has the stamina of a bull. I wish all perfumes worked this hard. This smells almost identical to Penhaligon's Jubilee Bouquet. Powdery green soap scent. The accord meter on the upper right suggests Capricci is heavily woody but it doesn't feel woody to me at all. Capricci is soft and harmless. It's mostly powdery and floral on me.

Capricci is an extremely sunny fragrance with a tart, almost lemony beginning and an herbal-floral kaleidoscope middle. The drydown seems to produce a bottomed-out effect, though, at least in the edt, which gives the scent a tepid, watery finish. Lovely, but not especially lingering.

I had it many years ago, I don't remember how it was smelling, I just remember that I loved it very much. If I see it around now, I will buy it again, just for the sake of having it.

Lovely and clean smelling, it does remind me of clean laundry, cotton, nice new bedding. It would go amazing on a nice hot day. I’d have my entire flat smelling of this if I could.

Greetings everyone, Tuesday, 21st July 2020 I hope you're all well and keeping safe during this pandemic. I was wondering if anyone....anyone knows where I could buy a bottle or two of Capricci by Nina Ricci? Capricci is my favourite perfume, next to Boucheron, Fidji and the other elusive but beautiful Gianfranco Ferre (the original). I live in Australia and the last time I bought this was way back in 1989. As I said, it is my favourite perfume and I would be forever grateful if anyone can help me locate and buy this. Capricci gives me the imagery of a tender sunrise through reeds, blushing the countryside, enough to take anyone out of the deepest of existential dread and find hope. It is watercolor rose and bearded iris, impressionistic, with no clear outline, no demarcation, all blending with no "heretofore", no "thus." The flowers tremble, the air shifts ever so slightly, the sound of a bell rings, and you're at home in the greenery and the sheltering trees. Capricci is a woody, herbal, grassy floral joy.

Does anyone know if Capricci has been re-released? There seem to be quite a few on ebay with a pink plastic stopper. I have just been lucky enough to find a vintage mini with the box in a coffre of original Magie de Lancome, Shocking by Schiaparelli, Fath's Love, Cabochard Gres, Jolie Madame Balmain and Bandit Piguet. I think I may have hit the jack pot!

Is its smell dated and retro? Can i wear it nowdays? I havent smelled it and i think to buy it blind. But i dont eant to repulse people around me. I love 'old' frags like Poison, Amarige, Poeme, Magie Noir, but Capricci is far morr old and i am scared...

I was a kid when this gem came out My mother wore this and it was lovely on her. As soon as I reached 20 I got a bottle of this for myself. I miss it so much. I bet it costs a fortune today ... if you can find it.
