L'Air

I was craving so long after a beautiful soft floral and I tried already many in the meantime and l'Air was one I received from my lovely husband and Waaw, a big revelation like "I finally found my floral". I am surprised this beauty is not well known, probably over shadowed by the immense classic of l'Air du Temps which I don't like that much anymore and many other commercial releases. The irony is that I expected this kind of scent of my lately acquired Cerruti 1881 and that one was a complete horror story, the most harsh soap smell. And then I get this wonderful l'Air : how can I describe it ? It is just a lovely poet which whispers you and everything is in balance, it all smell very soft, fresh and sensual at the same time. It is a "skin scent" but one that lingers for hours, so don't get fooled, although it has a good longevity and the silage is for me amazing. I recognize all the ingredients, the honeysuckle is very pretty and that marriage of jasmin, magnolia and violet is divine, not too strong and gives that "velvet" feeling. Other describe it as "powdery" although I find it very discreet and subtle (but I love powdery so that can influence my judgement). The dry down is sublime : instead that this perfume would literately disappear in Air, you get that palisandar wood and patchouli. And no to be honest, I don't smell that typical strong patchouli, this combination provide me more a warm, woody, musky undertone which gives a lot of structure for such an ethereal perfume. Maybe it is that delicate balance which provides that beauty : they succeeded to capture such an ethereal spirit in a way that it stays with, whispering lovely words, rather than letting you down after an hour

Well I have an odd story about this divine perfume! I dreamed about the bottle and name very specifically so I looked it up and I knew it was just l’air not the du temps original. Found it on the internet-could not believe it was the one in my dream!! You know you’ve got it bad when you dream about perfume. Anyway, on to the scent review. I used to have the perfume by J Lo called Love and Light which was beautiful but a bit too patchouli forward so I sold it. To me, this is a juicier, dewy version of that fragrance with just a touch of patch grounding it and adding that green that grounds the flowers. The flowers! Blended so beautifully in this. I guess the honeysuckle is most forward to me. But maybe magnolia seems like lemon here. Light, bright, almost dewy sweet. There has to be something citrusy in here though I don’t see it listed. This also lasts 6 hours on me. Holds its character throughout the dry down. My husband always comments that it’s a citrus fragrance. Feels very sunny, sweet, happy, and dewy. Like fragrant spring air. She’s also the star of my dresser with the artsy graceful bottle! For me it’s a love, and no dill pickles ;)

This perfume opens with fresh softsweet violets. It's a lovely soft smell. A while later it turns to a deeper perfume with a wooden undertone. But, for me, the wooden note is not cloyingly. But a classy one. It has a "flowercombo" that works for me. This a flower-wood combination but an airy one, not "overflowerly". You could wear this all day long, all seasons. It's elegant and classy, to wear with your finest dress, string of pearls...for an important occasion... that's the image I get from this perfume. Then, that bottle! It's so beautiful! White, with soft pink...and the birds....it suits the fragrance so well. About sillage and lastingpower, sillage is good, one spray is already detectable. You don't need much of this one. Lastingpower is very good, after 5-6 hours I could still smell it with only one "spritz". All in one... an other instant classic!

At last - a L'Air du Temps for me. I bought the original last year and those accursed aldehydes combined with carnation and cloves turned it into a horrible mess on my skin. I really wanted to like it... So it was with some apprehension I tried this - and what a beauty! Classy, fresh florals with a sound base of wood and patchouli (NOT an intrusive or dirty patchouli - don't be put off trying it because of this note). It reminds me of another summer favourite by Nina Ricci, Premier Jour - not that they smell the same, but they have a similar "virginal" lightness of touch. Ideal for a summer bride. I honestly can't imagine this offending anyone, it is such a natural floral scent and ideal for sultry weather. LOVE this fragrance and am now kicking myself for buying a 30ml bottle as I can see me powering through it in a week.

I brought my bottle from Europe while I was on holiday, it was a random quick pick, and I'm so happy to have this gorgeous scent in my collection. It smells rich & powdery, it's a light floral with the perfect amount of powder which I absolutely adore! This sticks to my skin, I had my partner shove his whole face into my neck he told me it smelt very good, at the time we were sitting outside our favourite burger place :) It was a freezing cold night, the wind was all over the place, he told me that he caught whiffs here & there. We did get quiet cosy he pulled me closer and hugged me tightly. I think the scent worked its magic that night!! This perfume is amazing, I like it a lot. Longevity: 7 hours❤️

... I THINK this is the correct bottle I'm wanting to review. Bottle has clear lid and white juice. Floral, gentle and thick. Creamy, a fruit edge.... or, some delightful garden flower I haven't met yet. Wow. I don't think I like the original with the aldehydes... but this is way up my alley. Creamy like freesia is, rounded, airy. No greenness No sweet fruit But then..... the middle notes and dry down happened. It's a bit sharper as it wears, it's a dry creamy with an edge. Sort of within the realm of Love by Chloe, dry like the prada iris di absolu and the de oragngier one... not the same scent but second cousins perhaps. Love the opening, meh on the middle and end

I just found a bottle of this and I'm so pleased with it. This is magnolia, jasmine, soap and powder to me. It gives me a very clean classy feminine soft vibe. The first couple of times I oversprayed and too much of this to the point of a headache. Now I use just 2 or 3 tiny subtle sprays and it's absolutely brilliant, it smells like its name; like you are cycling in the crisp fresh morning, just showered, next to a lane of white flower gardens, and you can smell the wind and the flowers in the air...It literally smells like air...I love this, it's wonderful.

I've just received a small bottle of this precious. It really is wonderful as it has everything that I appreciate in a good fragrance. First the flowers: magnolia, jasmine and violet are my favourites and put together you get heaven. The openning is peppery then it turns to woody-powdery scent. I'm a big fan of powdery perfumes. Lasting power is 7 hours on my skin and sillage is modest. Overall it just smells so classy and who would say no to a classy lady. One of the winners in my book.

This is a very classic flower. lighter then the original. I think it will suit a classic and elegant woman the best. Update: I keep returning to the store over and over again to spray it on. I became loving this scent. Its fresh and flowery, a bit classic. The Magnolia and Honeysuckle are promint on my skin after I aplied it. But then, when it settle,s it becames soft and a bit powdery. For me it will make a great spring and summer scent

I'm sad to say that this fragrance is a very low "like" into "dislike. Comparing it to Chloe's floral bouquets is SO on point with my chemistry and nose. L'Air is too sharp for me. I am a very large floral lover....VERY....especially in spring and summer. This one just doesn't do it for me because of the sharpness. It just goes to further my assumption that Nina Ricci and I just don't get along :o(

I bought this after reading the description and reviews on this website - without even smelling it in real life! A risk I know, but it has paid off because I LOVE it. The longer I have it on the better it is. It is a gorgeous scent in a beautiful bottle, and a floral with just the right amount of presence. LOVE IT!

This is my absolute number 1 from all perfumes I've ever had. Magical airy sweetness, Patchouli and gentle creamy violet. Absolutely heavenly scent to me. Also it lasts on my skin 12+ hours and I can smell it on myself all this time - this is critically important for me.

I just sprayed this on after coming out the shower and my boyfriend said from across the room "what's that smell? It smells of beautiful". That seals the deal for it being my signature scent. I hope they don't discontinue this, it really does bring olfactory joy!

This is probably one of my most favourite perfumes. In fact, I wear it almost everyday. It smells woody and flowery at the same time. I love it. I am surprised to see a lot of people dislike it. Scent lasts a long while also! Degintely one of my all time favs

It's an airy daytime perfume that makes you feel elegant and fresh at the same time , I love it ! Moderate silage , starts heavy and settles a few minutes later into a beautiful smell that surrounds you without disturbing anyone . Great blindbuy :D

It wasn't love for the first sniff - the opening was a bit overwhelming for me. But within a few minutes, it settled down and became a wonderful floral and smooth scent. Classic, divine and so feminine! I'm in looove. Bye-bye J'adore!

I am not smelling flowers in this at all. To me it's more of an aquatic scent? It's not bad though, quite different from L'Air du Temps that's for sure.

Does anyone know where I can buy this perfume? I fell in love with it while visiting Paris, but I cannot find it in the US. Please help!

This is my absolute favourite for spring. I smell it and it just immediately think of warmth, sunshine and flowers sprouting up.

I don't like perfumes that smell like a bouquet of flowers. In fact: Chloe L'eau de Parfum (or its dupe Un Moment de Bonheur by Yves Rocher) is disliked by me with passion. The Jean-Seberg-style ad made me want to try L'Air though - hoping it would be soft and youthful and: wearable. And it is. We still get aquainted but the drydown makes me like it more and more. A bit of sweetness comes through. The thought of guest soap and a nice shower in spring on vacation in Italy comes to mind (that is just me though, being very creative and tangled up in day dreaming). I am still not sure if I would dare to wear it "outside" since I do not wear flower bombs ... but gimme another week or so. The 50 ml bottle photographs much better than it looks in real life: the kissing doves are not as detailed as I hoped they would be and the fluid is clear and not vintage rose like the packaging or all pictures would suggest. The scent is fine but I wonder if I received a weird batch. I put my huge ass 50 ml bottle usually back into it's box (I love the design and colour so much!). Based on the ad campaign with it's airy, youthful, girly yet tomboyish, independent vibe I originlly imagined the perfume smelling like Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence L'Eau or Chanel Chance Eau Vive or Yves Rocher Naturelle or Yves Rocher Naturelle Osmanthus or even CK One. But I have read all your reviews and knew what I was getting into. As I said: I am still testing the scent out, trying to figure out if it could be me. If you like flowery romantic scents with a pure yet playful character that won't overpower everything else in the room yet leaves a nice trail of cleanliness - this scent is for you.

I was looking for a magnolia-centric fragrance to add to my wardrobe. So many beautiful suggestions were offered by members of the fabulous Fragrantica community, for which I am very grateful. L'Air was one suggestion, and given it's relatively low price from the discounters, I decided to purchase it blindly. My first impression is of an almost overbearing sweetness, almost as if Guerlain's L'Instant was mixed with Dior J'adore. I own and enjoy L'Instant but never like J'adore. Furthermore, I was comparing it to my favorite magnolia fragrance - Acqua di Parma Magnolia Nobile, which is much more citrusy and fresh. I was concerned, but after about a half hour, the intense sweetness retreated and the magnolia note emerged, buttery but with a touch of the waxy lemon I love so much in magnolia. I now know to spray at least a half hour before I venture out in public. I don't find the dry down to be dusty or musty as others have experiences. Instead I find it slightly powdery, perhaps from the violet. I like it very much, but not nearly as much as Magnolia Nobile. The longevity and projection are moderate. It is a nice all around floral that I think suits the cold more than than the heat, but at this point that remains unknown to me. Overall, I am glad to own this. PS - As the dry down continues, I am getting the woodsy notes, vaguely reminding me of another favorite of mine - Narciso - the one in the white cube. I really like this!!

The first few minutes of Nina Ricci L'Air was not particularly enchanting: watery green magnolia but a bit sharp as well. However, once it gets heated up, a beautiful musky floral trail unfolds, and I kind of get the comparison with Narciso Rodriguez for Her. Granted, they do not smell identical, but both share a clean, but not to the extent of being antiseptic, slightly mineral and salty musk, which complements well the floral redolence and makes a sensual scent of clean skin. With time, the flowers become sweeter. Honeysuckle and jasmine bring in a little fruity nuance. A clean patchouli and some woody elements are barely perceptible, only contribute in holding the flowers together. And all these elements are wrapped inside the velvety musk. The edges and contours are blurred, as if seeing the bouquet through a gentle haze. The sillage is moderate and the longevity is around 8 hours. I find L'Air wafts beautifully during the wearing, and doesn't create a 'scent wall' like some fragrances can do. I'd definitely recommend it as a romantic clean floral musk fragrance.

This is a very elegant soapy floral on my skin. In the beginning i detect a little bit of the pencil shaving scent that is frequently described on fragrantica but it blends well with the floral. I find it very hard to understand why some reviewers are saying that this is a woody scent and they can't detect floral..????....Say What?? lol It goes to show ya how different our skin chemistry is :) Its a nice flanker and i would totally recommend this one to all the floral lovers out there. Perfect for a spring or summer day while wearing a pretty sun dress...A white or light pink or baby blue sun dress..Something fresh ,airy and pretty. This is definitely an "I feel pretty today" perfume :) Very White floral :) So far,this has lasted on my skin for hours and i only sprayed a little bit on my wrist so you get pretty good projection for a pretty great price :)

For me this was a blind buy; spotted very cheap in Superdrug on a day when I felt I needed, and indeed deserved a lift. At first sniff I was convinced I had made a horrible mistake; it was a floral with strong (at least to me) fruity overtones and - Aargh! the dreaded patchouli. I put it aside, thinking I would use it up as a bathroom spray, but the first time I did so I was seized by the desire to spray it on me as well. I don't feel like wearing it that frequently, but when I do I enjoy it a lot; it's a bright, happy smell which makes me feel cheerful. What conclusions can I draw from the experience? Blind buys sometimes work out. Don't be too keen to dismiss a fragrance as the style of thing you always hate. Try more than once.

A true romantic scent. Soft and warm flowernotes with a hint of powder. Chic, womanish, warm and very romantic scent. Not old-fashioned in style but not supersweet modern neither. I find L'air to be timeless and beautiful - but this one doesn't go along with my skin or personality. This is a scent for the woman being really feminine - in a good way. En äkta romantisk doft. Mjuka och varma blomnoter med en aning puder. Chic, kvinnlig, varm och otroligt romantisk doft. Inte gammaldags men heller inte sockersöt modern. Jag tycker att L'air är tidlös och underbar - men den funkar inte på min hud, inte heller ihop med min personlighet. Detta är en doft för kvinnan som är superfeminin - på ett bra sätt.

On me this is a dry, unsweet floral with minor hints of citrus and woods, refreshing, not sharp, but not really appealing either. Probably magnolia and honeysuckle are most prominent and there is a certain strong underlying woody note present, and I even get a hint of honey. On opening it brings a beloved fragrance of mine in mind - Fragonard Tilleul Cédrat, but it's just an initial phase. I would say it's a pretty, offfice-friendly fragrance for all age groups for the warmer months. As for the bottle: it's a pity that those lovely doves are now something so simple and so cheap plastic..they were classier in the olden days..The scent is alright though, lasting power is 4 hours plus.

Today the fragrance is just arrived from France! I love the commercials and the spot inspired by "A Bout de Souffle" and Paris in the 60’s . The bottle and packaging are wonderful, the bottle is a classic revisit in pink-key , the box’s graphic remind me of those years. The fragrance surprised me! I'm glad I bought it without trying it! It 'a floral-green with woody and powdery base notes of pachuly and precious woods. I agree: the first floral notes remind me of Chloe EDP, but L’ Air is more joyful and crisp, the base notes make it sensual and elegant. Is modern and classic at the same time, perfect for the summer, original anytime. Jean Seberg would loved!

The first impression of this fragrance was really good. I thought that it is very sweet, fruity, flowery and everything that a modern scent needs to make a great impression. But after an hour I started to feel a bit dizzy. I found out that the sweetness of this fragrance is too offensive for me and I must admit I couldn ́t stand it anymore. I am not going to compare it to the original L'Air du Temps. It is absolutely different, nothing in common. But I definitely prefer the original. So the bottle ended up at my sister who loves it, it is her favourite scent. But unfortunately, when I smell it on her I can still feel a bit dizzy.

Citrus note (citron!, or southern magnolia?) + rosewood (intensive) + patchouli. It's very hard to pick up the notes because L'eau is very perfume-y, homogenic, well blended. Citrus-patchouli group of perfume. "New hippie" (I thought it was 80's fragrance, something to it reminds me my cousin listening to ABBA, citrusy note of Chanel No 5) It's very cologney, clean, fresh but elegant (white pants, linen blouse, full of summer). Try it if you like: Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere (clean solar citrus note), Romance by Ralph Lauren (cologney patchouli) or Narciso Rodriguez (there is something in common too).

This perfume is so unique. It's floral, sweet and spicy notes are all so perfectly balanced. Usually fragrances fall in one of the three, but sometimes you want something that encompases all of them. It is light and floral enough for spring and daytime, sweet and warm enough to be cozy, and spicy enough that it can work as a night-time scent. I smell the honeysuckle and patchouli the stronger, but the palisander wood and freesia add a nice balance. A fascinating scent!

I have a year this perfume. I just can not understand what kind of relationship I have with him. Every time I come to him after a long break, this is love, passion, intrigue. A day or two - I'm tired, sick of him. Several times I thought I would get rid of this, but, as I believe, I do not have it, I decide that it will be so. That's why we live. Bright, unusual, charismatic. A great lover. The original has nothing in common.

I think that this is not a scent for young woman. This is for woman with personality and style. Nothing sweet and girly. It is woody combined with beautyful flowers, very long lasting. I get always compliments, but maybe it has to work with your skin. For me it`s a sofisticated fume. Not mainstream and therefore I love it. (Sorry, hope my english is not too bad)!

Hi everyone, Perhaps someone here is looking for this perfume? I have one bottle and would like to sell it (shipping from Denmark). It used to be my mother's favorite scent, and for years I searched for it as a way to remember her. But something in me has changed — I’ve grown too spoiled by niche fragrances and just couldn’t go back to it.

Didn't think I would like this one so much. I am not much of a floral type of person. So this one really surprised me. The honeysuckle is quite prominent and balance out the florals with some sweetness, which I love. Nothing is too harsh in the floral part, everything is so well blended. It's a timeless classy and elegant scent.

I tested this out for 2 days straight to see if I really liked it...it's an okay scent. It smells better than the original & Premier Jour but I won't be buying a bottle, that's fer sure. I'm still on the hunt for an AMAZING Nina Ricci scent. 3 down and probably 10-20 more to go:-(

At first it was a little too strong, but it calmed down nicely into light floral scent. Mostly, I sense magnolia and honeysuckle. I find it quite fine. It's light, airy daytime scent. I think, anyone could wear it, smells so natural and inoffensive. Lovely, worth a try!

Please update the proper notes for this! There are many more than are listed, including: top notes of honeysuckle, freesia, and violet leaves; a heart of magnolia, jasmine sambac, and Bulgarian rose notes; and a base of patchouli and palisander wood.

Hmmm.... it's not bad! I smell jasmine, tea, with a little bit of lemon and honey in it. Would make a nice drink, haha. It reminds me, a little, of Givenchy Ange Ou Demon Le Secret, only this one is warmer and less evil.

Smells nothing like the original L'Air du Temps. I like this one much better. This is lighter, fresher, cooler, and less spicy. It smells like cool flowers and patchouli to me. Like fresh air and a cool fragrant breeze.

I get the honeysuckle, violet, night blooming jasmine, a little woodiness, and a little pink pepper... no patchouli, as many have stated, but maybe that's just me.

It's frustrating when the listed notes are incorrect or missing. L'Air is missing quite a few, so it is difficult to get an accurate depiction of the fragrance based on reviews. This light and airy perfume also contains freesia, rose, palisander wood, and patchouli. I can definitely make out strong florals, mostly magnolia, freesia, and honeysuckle. The woody notes are prominent and contribute a slightly green note to the scent. There is no mint listed anywhere, but I sometimes catch whiffs of something faint and minty. As someone else mentioned, I pick up fruity notes as well. After settling, the fragrance doesn't transition much. Overall L'Air is a great smelling daytime fragrance. I much prefer this one over L'Air du Temps. It's more rounded and not so delicate, giving it more depth. This scent lacks the classic, vintage feel. I wouldn't wear this frequently but appreciated the opportunity to test it out. I must also mention the bottle is beautiful.

Bought this as a blind buy and I should have read this tread instead of looking at the notes listed here because this has way more patchouli then is acceptable for me! The patchouli isn't listed here but imo it is very strong. To my nose patchouli tends to block the scent of the other ingredients, I smell jasmin and violet but very faint. In a way this perfume reminds me a bit of Pleasure by Estee Lauder, only the rose and lily of the valley is missing here. It is not a sweet or 'gourmand' floral, thank god for that, but nevertheless not my cup of tea! Well, this is my first blind buy that turns out to be a fiasco, but it was only 25 euro so no harm done! In the future I will try to controll my urge to buy more perfume and hopefully this has made ik clear to me to stay away from anything I haven't tried first.

I had high hopes for this based on the reviews, and my impression of the fragrance right out of the bottle and onto skin (heck, even from sniffing the stopper) was positive-creamy, fruity, a bit citrusy, brightly floral, lightly peppery, with just a touch of wood. Very clean, very pretty, mood-lifting. The drydown turned dry; no more creamy fruit. The florals and wood moved into high-pitch territory (exactly why I can't wear the original), which for me equals instant headache. I'm really pissed about this one, because it could've been a perfect late spring/summer daily scent. So saying, I've got a (lightly-sampled) new splash mini if anyone's interested... :(

This isn't terrible, it just doesn't suit me it seems. I don't know why but for some reason this scent reminds me of pickles?! Yes, pickles!!! Dill pickle potato chips to be exact. There is a note in this fragrance that is odd to my nose or maybe it's the mixture of all the notes together, I don't know, but it just seems to irritate me. The bottle is very pretty but that's the only thing about this perfume that I really like. Still, it's worth testing out for those of you that are interested, but for me, it just doesn't work with my skin chemistry.

I don't like this scent. To me it smells like artificial flowers, specially artificial roses. It smells kind of old and soapy too. I don't feel confident when I wear it, I'm constantly afraid of people noticing the awful old smell around me so I gave up on this perfume, it just didn't work for me.

I sprayed it on my wrist and after a few hours I kept thinking I smelled something horrible around me - turns out it's this! Even though I liked it at first spray, it really turns into this powdery scent that reminds me of old things and old people. I had to wash this off!

the opening was peppery and i liked that, but it did not lasted long, the smokey flowers disappeared quickly as well and the dry down on me was something that reminds me of crushed dill and a hint of flowers...i will pass

too much indolic jasmine.Thats all what it smells.I prefer the original which is totally different from this one and way more classy.yuck too much indolic jasmine.lucky me i didnt buy it blind!
