EGE / ΑΙΓΑΙΟ

Wow! Blind purchase just arrived! I’d forgive those whom would say this is generic. Aquatics are hard to differentiate other than a few prominent variations e.g Lavender, salt/seaweed etc etc Nishane for an Extrait though nailed it - and kudos to their marketing story behind it too! This would be where Bulgari Aqua or more so Aqua Marine Toniq would be if they were to evolve into something more detailed and stronger. Replace the saltiness and tone down the darker mossy/algae side and replace the citrus with yuzu bodieD out with violet and a pinch of mint to give you the airiness and you have a strong bodied sweet refreshing aquatic that does it better than most. Would it beat say Aqua Di Gio Profumo (which is darker and greener) no - or Montale Fougeres Marine or Aqua Gold, or Jul’s et Mad Aqua Sextius - again no - But it would sit on the same shelf for sure - it’s struck that chord and need for something different perfectly and for me these scents do it better than anyone else. What I also love is that like Lubin Attique which is marketed as an ode to the Oracle at Delphi in Greece - which very much indeed reminds me of it - this too reminds me as per their marketing of grassy hills windswept by an offshore breeze somewhere near a town on the Adriatic... EDIT 20 hours later and two showers and I can smell nose to skin as I sleep tonka and vanilla with a touch of green though is in reality the cardamom and a touch of basil? amazing...

I'm not a big fan of aquatic, so I assumed I wouldn't like this one, despite the beauty of the bottle color and name. And I have to say I was completely wrong. To be precise, I think this is a green note. Because of the freshness of those herbs, I think it jumps over the green notes and feels like an aquatic note. EGE feels more like a seaside herb bush than the sea itself. It is very fresh and refreshing, and there is also a hint of the sea breeze. And anise! Among herbs, I especially love the scent of anise. I think the anise, which smells like ouzo, attracts me to this perfume. It is a very beautiful scent that reminds you of the townscape of the contrasting white and blue of the Aegean Sea. I think it's the perfect fragrance for the humid summers of this country. ”May convert non-aquatic fans back into the genre” Yes, I will definitely be one of them. I have avoided aquatic for a long time because the smell of aquatic makes me sick. Now that I've learned about perfumes, I'm probably thinking that what I should have avoided was Calone, not Aquatic itself. I can't say for sure, but at least it made me reconsider the aquatic that I've been ignoring for so long.

This is a good fragrance but it could have been better. I got this about 3 years ago thinking it would be a full-on aquatic scent. The reason I thought that is because the name of the perfume is actually the name of the Aegean Sea shared by Turkiye and Greece hence there is Turkish and Greek names on it (EGE/ΑΙΓΑΙΟ) Because I love aquatic scents my anticipation was up the roof. When it arrived and I first smelled it I was devastated. There wasn’t any sea notes I adored, it instead smelled like a fresh cucumber. At first I hated this smell and hated myself for blindly buying this however it grew on me. Because I was living in a coastal area at the time, EGE would blend with the smell of the salty water, creating a fresh, youthful and lively fragrance. Sadly performance was never Nishane’s strong suit and EGE shares the same fate. Longevity may not be too bad however projection was very poor and would not be noticeable. In short this is NOT an aquatic scent in my book, however it does resemble a coastal area when salt is mixed into it. Unique in its own way and competent in its ability to be charming. A scent for the young, carefree and wildspirited people. 8/10.

I've been a great fan of aquatic/marine frags since the old days, years to decades back, from AdG Edt, Kenzo PH, polo blue Edt, cool water, bulgari aqva ph, just to name a few. Till date, I might have at least 20-40 marine associated scents. My most unique marine salty frags remains as Ocean of a Midnight Moon Simone Andreoli Last week I traded in a frag for Ege Nishane and despite Zero aquatic/marine Accords in Ege, from what I smell, it starts great and smells great with a lovely combination of sea marine aquatic and green fresh morning garden. Ege transports you to imagine you are at a Mediterranean island by the sea with a field of green gardens. To me this is primarily an aromatic green aquatic scent. The clever use of Yuzu balances off the sharpness of the violet Leaf in the opening, very good and nicely done. The rest of the various green accords made Ege also smells like a fresh garden green. Best of both worlds It's quite strong and loud but you still can overspray without feeling overwhelmed. Suits and does well both in cool and warm environment. A good scent under the Nishane brand. Do give it a try if you come across it.

EGE/ΑΙΓΑΙΟ is the only offering from the house that I immediately liked. It's not one that blows your socks off and that you're compelled to keep smelling and re-wear consistently. However, it is sophisticated, and deeply complex with refreshing salty and sea notes - a combo, I feel, continuously fails to work for so many; Phtaloblue by Tauer and Fourgerer Marine by Montale come to mind. This is an Extrait that you don't need to apply and wait an hour before being in close proximity to people. It's subtle and powerful at the same time with lashings coconut, yuzu and violet. Once applied, EGE continues to evolve as though one was walking along course sand in the Med passing beach bars selling gin and tonics and Piña Coladas. Smelling throughout the day immediately transports me to that setting, and I can almost feel the ever so slight cool breeze buffering against the hot sun. This is sophisticated, completely unisex and absolutely suited to warm, coastal climates.

At first I did not like it, it’s too green, strong and the anis note was new to my nose, two years later, it grew on me and I adore it. My nose has devoloped past designers. I own two 150ml of blvgri aqva marine, I used to like that stuff in hot and humid weather...Ege is a green niche version of that. There is no heavy calone, amborxan and fake citrus here, it smells like green grass with sharp expensive yuzo “not the fake issy myake note, it’s 80% green than aquatic, bottle colour is deceiving. Performance is over the top, do not spray over 3-4 sprays “ I am a heavy sprayer and 10-12 is my rate with Blgari Aqva”. Highly recommend especially at a discount, an under the radar compliment magnet that performs. Just buy it and let it grow on you, it was not love at the first sniff, it’s a complex quality niche in a designer cloth, so give yourself some time to understand her...

Sweetly, greenly herbaceous, with a fresh aquatic undertone. On me the licorice and mint are dominant for the first hour or so, with the broody licorice turned sweet and light by the mint. Meanwhile the water-heavy violet leaves and ambiguous fruitiness of the yuzu combine with the freshness of the basil and mint to create a sweetly-aquatic honey-water scent. EGE is an introverted, contemplative fragrance, but with a cheerful self-confidence to it. It’s very fresh and cooling, but a comforting cool, like a nicely tended backyard with a brook running through it. Like the shade near the base of the house when you’re out gardening on a warm spring day. Unisex, but leans slightly masculine. A good spring/summer fragrance, especially if you prefer gentle, nonabrasive fragrances, but don't want to sacrifice nuance and quality.

A scent that with its smell reminds you of the Aegean coast on a hot, sunny day. Perfect for the summer (and likely spring in some regions), especially for humid locations, as the longevity suffers in dry climates. Bought it 150 EUR cheaper than MSRP price (325 EUR), which i think was a steal for such a scent. Out of the niche summer perfumes from mainstream fragrance houses, this one is not as well known, and the unique scent will have both men and women wonder what you are wearing. More on the last point, I do not recommend a blind buy, test it on your skin first. On me it opens up beautifully, with violet, yuzu and licorice dominating the palette, and I can even sense a hint of watermelon in the mix, even though its not one of the official notes.

THE FRESHNESS IS ASTOUNDING 😱😱😱 If you are a fan of Lamiacieae essential oils (mint, thyme, rosemary, lavender, oregano, basil, etc.) that don't smell like an old person, this ozonic unisex fragrance is for you. I love how cool and crisp this scent is. The hold and sillage are INSANE. The violet creates this nice sweetness with its head note, allowing the green juicy herbs to come dancing through. The one thing that maybe throwing me off is the licorice (just not my preference), but I don't mind it as much with this fragrance combination. This reminds me of being in a secret Mediterranean garden close by the sea - feeling the breeze along your face as you're surrounded by luscious nature. This fragrance is one of the best I’ve tried from the Nishane house. Its citrusy menthol top notes are a delight, then the fragrance become a little greener and spicier without ever losing its freshness, making it a very versatile fragrance and a signature scent with a great aromatic quality. Longevity and projection are both really good. EGE is not an out-of-the-ordinary fragrance, but it’s a veritable Swiss army knife in terms of being versatile and easy to wear. It’s an excellent fragrance for daytime, summertime, vacations, but those relaxing vacations, in the shade with a view of the sea while sipping a glass of ice-cold lemonade.😊😉🌊🏖️🍹 8/10 in my book.🤓📝📓

Of all the dozens of aquatic fragrances that I tested so far, this was the one that took me the closest to what the Mediterranean means to me. Fruity, aquatic and sweet, like an afternoon on the dry coasts of Sicily. From a technical point of view, it's not the greatest fragrance. There are other fragrances with a similar smell that last for just as long, at a fraction of the price. I also did not feel the initial smell morphing into anything else. It's linear. And way too expensive for what it offers. But despite all these, Nishane Ege is my absolute favorite mediterranean fragrance and I will gladly pay the high price.

Beautiful and uplifting, has a serene and calming vibe, not overly zingy, it succeeds in evoking the experience of the breeze by the Mediterranean coast it definitely has that vibe, and smells high quality. It's a joy to wear this scent, projects so generously and lasts a long long time for a fresh scent of this sort. One of my top freshies for sure. The Basil-Yuzu combo with that tinge of mint work wonderfully, the licorice and olibanum add character and push the fragrance to stay on skin, the violet is done really well in this too, rounded and balanced. It's a smooth, energetic and a sheer beauty from Nishane. 8/10

This takes me right back to the warm and sunny days of my childhood in the Mediterranean. Its blend of floral and ozonic notes makes me feel like it's the beginning of a beautiful spring day, with the sun shining and a gentle breeze carrying the scent of blooming flowers and the 'still too cold to swim in' sea. What I really love about Ege is the mimosa scent, which although not listed in the notes, adds a touch of powdery sweetness to the fragrance while also giving a refreshing feeling that reminds me of cucumber peel. It's a unique combination that creates a beautiful and distinct scent that really stands out.

Well Zorglub I don’t know what kind of nose you have, but this is my most complimented fragrance from Nishane. Every single time I wear this but men and Women are asking me, wow what are you wearing. I think that a lot of men just don’t know how to apply a fragrance correctly and plus they go by the first initial spray and not understanding that the dry down tells the true story. It’s like reading a novel from the beginning, may seem boring at the beginning but when you get into the story that’s when it seems to get better. Guys and ladies this juice is good. So let the negative reviews sway you.

Deniz temalı parfümlere ön yargımı yıkan kokulardan. Ne kadar ikonik de olsa Davidoff Cool Water benim tarzımı ifade etmiyor diye hep bu temadan uzak kalma eğilimindeydim. ( Deniz akoru ya da marine herneyse. ) Nishane Ege'yi ilk defa bir yaz tatilinde, Gökçeada'da ufak bir sample ile denedim. İlk önce hiç birşey ifade etmeksizin sıktım ancak bu kokunun çok kalite olduğunu gömleğin üzerinde kalan 1 gün sonraki kokusundan anladım. Kuruyuşu inanılmazdı. Sonrasında hemen şişeli satın aldım. Kullandıkça bağımlısı olduğum bir koku, tek dezavantajı çok yönlü bir koku değil, benim için 'tatil kokusu' .

I'm surprised so many dislike this scent - but I noticed the majority are men and since this scent does lean a little masculine, I can understand how this wouldn't wow them as I expect they would have many similar scents available that they would like better. As a woman, I love this. It's fresh, citrusy, and aquatic without being too floral or sweet. This is truly unique in my collection. The first time I sampled it, I instantly thought "I want to wear this on a cruise". I'm very happy with the longevity and the projection is phenomenal. Happy to have it on my shelf.

for a merely 80 bucks i bought this fragrance on heavy discount , couldnt believe how underrated it is. has the Creed SMW/ xerjoff mefisto ink smell opening, following the fresh aquatic aspects smiliar to LV meteore and LV imagination, then the drydown becomes powdery and musky like xerjoff mefisto gentiluomo. eternal duration and beast mode proyection for a blue freshie . its so concentrated the juice that you have to spray on your clothes or far from your nose, limited to few sprays otherwise its very headeche inducing
