Kredo

Don't let those "Perfume Sommelier(s)" fool you with their "in depth analysis" of why Kredo's not close to oud wood bla bla bla. In the end of the day if someone that is considered "Fraghead" sniffs this masterpiece in the air, he wont even ask what you're wearing, he'll be convinced it's oud wood. Not saying it's is a clone or something, after all this line of perfumes are named Time capsule for a reason, they're inspired, and don't let the word "inspire" fool you just because they put this specific word in their marketing formats, inspiration is differs from a homage. It's not 100% oud wood but that kind of roughness/animalic kick that Kredo has close to skin, makes your sillage smell like how Oud wood's close to skin would smell (and that's a huge win in my book). Price compared to the inspired perfume is a joke subject nowadays, Retail for Kredo 200ish$ for 50ml and 290ish$ for 100ml, at least in my country Oud wood 50ml costs at least 280$. Performance/Sillage-wise it's a beast, got nothing more to say, for the light wearers 2/3 sprays on each side and you're good to go for at least 9 hours, for the heavy ones 6/7 sprays and you're jet for at least a day. If you wanna be a realist, it's 2 times better purchase than Oud wood (and yes it's sad, TF is (/was?) my favorite brand, I have many versions of OW, even the old one that comes with the golden label [2008].) so I can tell which of those people who reviewing this perfume are basically snake oil sellers that in order for them to protect their favorite brand and don't feel stupid themselves just call Kredo bad things. TLDR; I own more than 5 bottles of Oud wood, including pre/post-reformulation and a vintage one, Kredo's just better overall. if you're thinking about getting Oud wood, just get this masterpiece instead. it's win win.

Kredo smells more like a spicy, suede leather fragrance than an oud fragrance. On paper, sure, this smells like Oud Wood; however, on skin/in the air, Kredo is all about soft, airy spices and slightly sweet suede. Put it this way - if someone walked past me whilst wearing Kredo I wouldn’t mistake them for wearing Oud Wood. For the first 30 minutes it’s potent; you get a surprisingly fresh smelling melody of spices, leather & oud - it smells great. Kredo continues to smell great in the dry down after the first 30 mins and beyond, the profile is somewhat linear but overall everything softens up nicely. I’ve seen a number of people say that they don’t like Kredo as much as Oud Wood or Carved Oud; I wonder if that’s because those people aren’t expecting Kredo to smell so different - us fragheads often judge fragrances harshly when something differs from our expectations. For my personal taste I prefer Kredo; I enjoy how dry & spicy it is - it feels safe yet somewhat provocative. Also, Kredo accomplishes what a lot of fragrances don’t try to do when taking inspiration from something else - it takes an existing DNA and goes in a different direction rather than simply copying it. If you like the Oud Wood DNA but want something a little more edgy (yet totally ‘wearable’) I’d say that Kredo is worth sampling. P.S: Kredo has some sweetness, but it’s definitely not a sweet fragrance. Be prepared for a dry, spicy fragrance that opens fresh and gets a little softer over time. Also, I still think that Oud Wood smells great, but I personally prefer the direction that Kredo takes.

This is my favorite Nishane fragrance so far. I have Hacivat and Ani and I like them a lot, but this beats them both. I have had TF Oud Wood before and like others say, if you like that then you're going to like this. This exceeds Oud Wood in every way. It has a brighter, fresher opening, it has more depth, it lasts three times longer. There is no comparison. I cannot smell any animalistic anything. If I jam my nose to my skin then maybe there is a slight animalistic note but it's not fecal or gross. Overall the fragrance is extremely fresh and crisp. The osmanthus and pink pepper give it the smell of an expensive leather jacket. There really are two leather notes - at the top there is black leather jacket and the bottom there is a rich suede. And of course there is a clear woody note with the oud accord. The osmanthus gives everything a silky smooth, subtle apricot like fruitiness, which is barely noticable but perfectly placed. If you don't think about it then it just smells like part of the black leather. This is beautiful. I have really enjoyed it. I can see this as signature scent worthy. It's unisex but I can see it working well for men who project clear masculinity. Kind of seems appropriate that the creator of Dior Fahrenheit made this fragrance. 9.5/10

I’ll start this review by briefly going over Oud Wood. Oud Wood by Tom Ford is an iconic scent, a woody and western interpretation of oud that’s sophisticated, easy on the nose, and likable. However, with recent batches of most Tom Ford fragrances, it has noticeably lost its original sillage and, especially, its longevity. I tried a new batch (2 full sprays on the same spot), and it became a skin scent after about an hour, completely disappearing within 2 hours on my skin. Kredo, on the other hand, is very reminiscent of Oud Wood but offers more depth, thanks to the cardamom and warm spices. It is long-lasting and the sillage is good. With three sprays on the neck area, I get about 8 hours of wear and catch whiffs of it throughout the day. In my opinion, it performs best in cold weather as it can be cloying in summer or warmer environments. If you enjoy the scent of Oud Wood but wish its performance were not abysmal, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed!

🪵 Nishane Kredo — Oud Wood’s Bolder, Smarter Cousin Cardamom and pink pepper hit first — smooth, warm, and just sharp enough to let you know this isn’t playing nice. Then comes osmanthus: fruity-leathery and quietly decadent, like vintage gold in candlelight. All of it settles into a base of suede, oud, and sandalwood — dry, creamy, animalic. It doesn’t shout. It leans in. Yes, it shares DNA with Tom Ford Oud Wood, but this isn’t just a clone. Kredo has more presence, richer texture, and a bit of bite. Like Oud Wood got therapy, read Nietzsche, and learned to shut up and smolder. Think of it as your dark blazer over a black turtleneck: clean, intellectual, and slightly dangerous. Not flashy, but undeniably well put together. This isn’t your first fragrance. This is what you wear after you’re done impressing others, and start pleasing yourself. Textured spice. Smooth wood. Controlled power. The refined rebel in your rotation. 9/10. GREAT! 👍🏻

Firstly, i get the TF Oud Wood comparison to a certain extent. The opening is quite harsh, pink pepper is very dominant and almost stings your nose and the cardamamom is also overwhelming. After approx. 20-25 min however it develops beautifully. Strong woody out note, sandalwood and osmanthus make it more bearable and a mass appealing scent, I would even go as far as saying it ́s THE masculine scent-> 80% similarity to oud wood, just not as balanced / smooth. It stays like this for 10h(!!) approx with a mediocre / decent projection, the scent radiates within only 2-3 ft and after those 10 hours, it starts to smell generic like BdC le perfum or tom ford leather fragrances. At the 11h hour mark it becomes a skin scent and I solely smell it when I sniff my arm. P.S I acquired it at a price point of 170 eur / 100 ml, with this in mind it ́s a 8/10 , blind buy worthy, if you don ́t mind the bad projection

This is a true niche version of TF Oud Wood, and with the current examples of OW lasting less than two hours, this is incredible. The opening does have that challenging oud profile, Cambodian oud profile, not Indian oud to my nose, a little fuel smell, and a whiff of barn - hey smell. That lasts 20 minutes, then the clear sharp lovely oud profile starts to ring through like a tunning fork. This definitely has some real oud in it, not only an accord, but it is supported by other oils (not totally oud). If you can pull TF OW in warmer weather (60-70 F) forget about doing so with this one unless the sun is down. This is thicker and heavier than the TF. In this scent profile this comes second to me after Thameen Carved Oud, then this one, then Versace Oud Noir, then in the last spot sadly the current formulation of TF Oud Wood, which used to be on top.

I have never smelled the perfume of TF Oud Wood to which it is compared. I got TF Tobacco Vanille once, but to my nose it smelled exactly like the vanilla aroma that fishermen use in their bait. This is why I would never buy a TF fragrance. I had an idea about Kredo, but when I smelled it for the first time, I was completely surprised. In a good way! For some reason it seems to me like a masterful mashup of B-612 and Tero/Papilefiko. Kredo is a great woody-spicy scent that is totally masculine to me. The quality of the fragrance is fantastic. It became one of my favorites from the brand from the current 11-piece Nishane collection. I find it sufficiently modern and versatile. I think it can be worn in all seasons, except maybe hot summer. I really like this. :)

This is the best interpretation of the Oud Wood DNA. There are lots of fragrances that try to capture the spiced wood with a long-lasting, clean oud base, but most (current Oud Wood and Hinoki & Cedarwood come to mind) fall into the overuse of wood notes and smell veneer-like in the opening. This fragrance avoids that by using cardamom and osmanthus as the main "early" notes. This creates a fresh-leaning, albeit still formal, scent that evolves. After ~4 hours, you start getting a mix of clean oud and suede, making an entrance. The oud is clean, powdery, and almost oily, while the suede gives it a soft, leathery foil that lasts all day. The versatility of the notes, the staying power, and the complexity all make this a class-leading fragrance.

I like this fragrance. It’s a bit pungent initially, and smells pretty much old school. Once it begins to settle down, you start to detect the spices and it becomes more pleasant. Eventually, the oud and sandalwood become more pronounced at the drydown. However, the spicy notes remain, which makes it a pleasant one for me. This scent leans a bit more masculine and it exudes confidence and class. I would wear this more in the autumn or spring, and perhaps the winter. Even though it is spicy, I am not sure if I would wear it much during the summer months. Beware, though. The powdery scent could make it kind of sweet and sickly. It is also long lasting, which is a plus for me. Rating: 7.5/10

I love this! I enjoyed the times I've tested TF oud wood but hated the performance. When I heard about Nishane releasing this I got quite excited. Is it similar to TF oud wood? Yes Is it the same? No, not at all. It has it's own thing going on. The imagery I get from Kredo is that of something green, thick and sexy as fuck. TF oud wood is very blue, brown and silvery. I prefer Kredo by far and it's one of my favourites in my collection. Also, for you Nishane fans who know Spice Bazaar, it shares something similar. If you remove the spices and citrus from Spice Bazaar and replace it with a Tom Ford mask, It's kinda that. I love Kredo and I'm not ashamed to say it.

I love Tom Ford Oud Wood, but the pitiful performance turned me off, so when I read that this had a similar scent profile, I blind bought it. It's even better. Kredo is like a long lasting Oud Wood with a slightly more animalic (but not fecal) oud and the addition of a leather note. I get about 8-10 hours total with approximately 2-3 feet of projection for the first 4 hours or so. If you want to try before you buy, spray some on your skin at a store or buy a decant. This does not smell good on paper and you won't be able to appreciate it properly from smelling it on a test strip. For me, this is a forever fragrance. Scent 10/10, longevity: 10/10, sillage 7/10.

Reviews claiming this is super funky compared to Oud Wood are such Fragrantica types. Yes, there is a difference between Kredo and Oud Wood. Kredo is richer and funkier, but subtly so to most noses, and less and less the case after the first 30-60 minutes. There has always been something screechy in Oud Wood to my nose and this Kredo is perfectly smooth. Leather base shows itself after dry down and it's gorgeous. Beautiful, lasting, smooth take on the same DNA, and for most of us much more satisfying. Price isn't cheap, but really great, especially compared to TF. I will have to try in summer, but I imagine it is highly wearable except for high heat.

Finally picked up a full bottle. This is SOOO good! Do you like TF Oud wood? Do you like Carved oud? Do you hate that they don't last/project? If you answered yes to 1 of those 3 then this is for you! if yes to all 3 then its EVEN more for you. Don't listen to the ones saying "funky" their tiktok nose hasn't matured. Do yourself a favor and get a sample. Or a bottle, it's pretty affordable on discounters. The fragrance is a nice western oud accord yet comes off clean thanks to the osmanthus. So good. If you're reading reviews it means you're probably on the fence. Jump over it. Get it! I promise this is a winner.

What a tricky scent! First moments are like masculine freshie, but pepper and cardamom quickly take domain. The scent becomes warm, spicy and you can expect a play of various accords. Milky osmanthus, fully bloomed and sandalwood, which is creamy, creates delicious combo. Strong oud and suede are deep, mysterious and shapes final character of the perfume. The harmony of smooth, lactonic and pure woodiness, which keeps piquant aspect, makes the perfume really impressive. Also, it is skin-closed, melts so sensualy! Quickly becomes precious to me... --- Moderate projection, longevity fleeting, 3-4 hrs.

Don no about you guys.. but this osmanthus and pepper is 10/10! Yeah oud wood profile for sure, but this has more depth and character. Starts fruity woody, goes to a oudy vibe and ends with this musky sandalwood base in fact it reminds me of the deep drydown of creed Aventus ( older batches mostly ). But let me bring it like this: in the air it smells different as Nishane usually smell different in the air ( extrait ).. you smell a creamy fruity woody perfume. It’s elegant and very versatile to say and maybe even unisex in the air! Nishane nailed this one 10/10 bye bye oud wood

A wonderful accident: I've always thought Kredo is an improved version of Oud Wood with the addition of patchouli (undeniable, even though it's not listed in the ingredients), but both always seemed too Dry woody to me, they lack something... until I accidentally layered it with Divine Vanille while experimenting with fragrances: KABOOM!! I got a Western oud perfume with more depth, complexity, and welcoming cozyness thanks to the mix of that spiced vanilla. Incredible and totally recommended. Just try it if you have a chance (Kredo first then Divine Vanille on top) delish...

A single manly tear of happiness has rolled down my face. I love Oud Wood, but while I don’t particularly care about price, I do care about performance—and for me, Oud Wood is definitely lacking in that area. Kredo is the “elixir” version of Oud Wood in its intensity. It has a slightly animalic bite to it, but it isn’t fecal. It projects wonderfully, lasts over 10 hours on skin, and stays on clothes for days. While not an exact clone, in this stranger on the internet’s opinion, this is the best take on this particular scent profile that I currently own.

How are you guys smelling anything fecal or animalic from Kredo? There's no way. To smell anything off putting in the slightest there must be different batches of Kredo on the market. Thankfully my bottle is clean and amazing. I have no experience with early batches of Tom Ford Oud Wood but the current batches which is said to be reformulated doesn't even smell like oud. I've heard it described as western style oud which seems to be a mix of cedar and pine notes, not oud. Whatever it is, Tom Ford Oud Wood is lame and the prices are out of control.

I really love this scent, but on my skin it has almost no projection and very minimal longevity. With a bit more staying power, I wouldn’t have hesitated to grab a full bottle. Kredo is often compared to Oud Wood, but I find it more complex and leather-centric. The rich leather base gives it depth, while a soft floral nuance in the dry down adds elegance and balance. The composition is refined, unique, and could easily be a masterpiece with better performance. As it stands, it’s beautiful but held back by weak longevity and projection.
