Wulong Cha X

Not quite what I expected going in (I expected more tea on my skin) but still a very pleasant experience nonetheless. On my skin it opens up with a very bright and sweet Yuzu and Bergamot, with some herbal-like subtle florals and a small but noticeable tea, for those who are not familiar Yuzu both tastes and (especially) smells sweeter than a traditional lemon does, but the Yuzu in this is more on the tamer side but still definitely sweet and quite bright/sparkling in the air. After about 10-15 minutes where the opening starts to subside, a beautiful and realistic Green Tea note starts to become much more pronounced around level with the citruses, and it's accompanied by some white florals which are quite strong on my skin for around the 1st hour in, to the point it smells a little too feminine for what I'd wear, but once they settle down and the fragrance fully Dries down, you're left with a soft herbal green tea still laced with the sweetness and a zing from the Yuzu, much softer and palatable white florals, and very subtle musks, with barely detectable fig not that adds a fruity earthiness which is a nice contrast, but its (quite literally) barely there, but I'd imagine in hotter weather it'd be much more pronounced. When it comes to wearability it's definitely a spring fragrance first in my mind with maybe a warm summer day being good as well, but I feel like its a bit too much for blistering weather, and this easily could be dressed up or down, as feels clean and Luxurious but not posh. Dead in the middle unisex too in my opinion aside from the initial potency of the white florals. Projection wise, I wish it were a little stronger funnily enough since I prefer more subtle projections usually, but its not a deal breaker, it's soft-medium projector on my skin after the first 2 hours, with the first 2 being medium-strong. And in terms of longevity I stopped seeing it around the 4th-5th hours but people would occasionally smell it on me when I asked around the 6th-7th hours so I'll trust them on that. Overall it's very inoffensive in the air, smells clean and luxurious, calming and yet not boring, despite it being relatively linear, definitely a scent you wear for you yourself and not for others if that makes sense, I just get that feeling from this. Another banger from Nishane and although i havnt tried the original, i still think this is a beautiful standalone fragrance that deserves its praise. 8.6/10

I was looking for a fresh citrusy scent with a twist. Many of those won't last on my skin (citrus is less long-lasting in general), but this does. And I have to carefully spray it, because it is very strong on my skin. I like to spray it half on my skin and half on my clothes, bc on my clothes it lasts forever, and this way I can preserve those beautiful opening notes, which blend so well with the mid and base notes. And the notes... OMG it is such an orgasmic blend! The sweet freshness of yuzu, balanced with the bitterness of the bergamot, freshened up by green tea and mystified by the citrusy sweetness of magnolia. And at the end of the day, when you smell your skin up close, you are going to be surprised by an intimate hint of fruity sweetness from the fig, but that is only for you. Nobody else can smell it, but you! First I fell in love with Wulong Cha X, and I tried the original Wulong Cha only later. For me, the original WC is too bitter, the bergamot opens too harshly and after it dries down, there is not enough tea scent for me. The WC is fresh, beautiful, but overall too "rough" for me. Probably bc my skin returns fragrances on the citrusy side. The WCX on the other hand is still very fresh, but in an addictively beautiful, well-rounded, elegant way.

50th review had to go to something good. This is the fragrance of a young spirited but old hearted samurai that has fought many battles to defend the Japanese Empire. After finishing his last battle against an invasion, the veteran samurai decided he will resort to his remote home, out in the lush rainy forests of Japan during monsoon season, to finally rest. The sun glistens on his skin and the litsea trees among him fill the air with an uplifting and citrusy element that invigorates the samurai’s mind and spirit and motivates him to brew some oolong tea to wake the body. He walks outside his house that rests on a hill among a forest and out to his flower garden and picks a dewy magnolia flower and takes a whiff. His nose is enveloped into a smooth creamy floral heaven. He then visits his tea garden to finally pick what he’ll need. He unearths the tea that unleashes the natural rejuvenating senses of the earth and prepares to make his timeless blend of oolong tea. He returns home and finally prepares his steaming hot glass of oolong tea. He rests upon a shrine neighboring his house and takes a seat, and looks upon the land he has fought for. This fragrance blends all of these elements into one, creating the tea, floral, and citrus blend that you need.

Wulong Cha X is a gorgeous citrus tea with this softness of magnolia and musk. The yuzu I think gives is this particularly sweet lemon scent, different from your typical bergamot (which is also present). Where the fragrance shines is in its blend with the magnolia, fig, and musk. These complement the citrus and tea, while also giving them some extra longevity. These are high-quality ingredients, not headache-inducing or chemical smelling. It’s exactly what I would spray all over before going to a spa massage. It’s not overly tropical though, so don’t worry. Definitely a safe scent for going to the office or shopping. You will smell clean, calm, and divine. My sample of this actually did not have as much of a tea note, but the full bottle has a gorgeous green tea to it which I am so happy about! I was looking for a tea scent originally. My one of my top 3 scents is Xerjoff Torino 21 because it is a beautifully blended minty citrus musk with florals, unique in its ability to create this bright yet soft fragrance by using those high quality musk notes. This one is in the same family but decidedly different. Tea is the star here, no mint detected. I have never smelled the original but I’m very happy with the X!

Wulong Cha X takes the original DNA and it diminishes the bitterness of the tea by a bit. Julien Rasquinet did a fantastic job of making this smooth blend of a fragrance, able to add depth and complexity to an already top notch tea fragrance. It opens up pretty much the same as the original, with that explosive photo realistic citrus, u also get the tea but its tuned down a little. After drying down 30 minutes or so, you start to notice the florals and finally I understood what everyone was saying about 'creaminess'. The magnolia pops off to give it this feminine and uplifting vibe, with of course the subsequently radiating tea note in the background. But what I love about this fragrance is the dry down, and by the 5 hour mark, you get this wonderful mix of musk and fig that you just can't deny is of the highest quality. This is statement 'luxury' fragrance, you smell like the rich lady on her way to continue her day after having a warm cup of the best tea in the market, getting off of her Mercedes. In a world of tea scents, of which I have most, the way to differentiate this one from the others is the magnolia. Nishane took their lovely Wulong Cha and dialed that lemon zest top note way down, mellowed the tea, and added this feminine floral note that just makes this unique unto itself. Because I own both I am often asked which Wulong Cha to buy, I’d say it depends on you. Wulong Cha OG, for me, is the freshest of the tea scents. That lemon pledge top note can be lovely to some people and overwhelming to others. I find it nice if I am suffering through the hottest days of the year and yearning for refreshment. The rest of the year? I could do without it and I want something with equal lasting power that isn’t quite as punchy. Family vacation to sunny Orlando in July? The OG is the one for you. Brunch in April? Maybe X is your girl. If Wulong Cha is the big personality oldest brother of the house, Wulong Cha X is his really pretty but still tough little sister. She has the same family DNA and facial bone structure but isn’t as loud. Each are great. In the words of Taylor Swift “Pick your poison babe, I’m poison either way.”

Its exactly the same, but softer in the green was my first thought. Side by side then com3 on! Now this was interesting. The lemon opening on the X is way more deep and elegant. The flower and bitterness is immediate there with the X while the OG is more green and juicier. In the drydown they meet each other butttt the OG smells bit more fruity and bit sweeter while thr X is more flowery drier and bitter. For me the OG is way better since this one leans to feminine, not that i care but the bitter flowerness is just not a go for me as a man. I gave my bottle to my wife and it suits her perfect! Performance? No difference still a summer beast! At least 10 hours on the skin days or weeks on fabrics. It leaves a beautiful sillage citrus flowery sillage to die for. So imo this also is great for spring ... it really represents the warmer days in spring around the mediterrane area. 9/10 go and get yourself a bottle ladies!

If you’re on the market for a incredibly photorealistic green tea, bergamot, lemon, yuzu summer scent with some watery florals and very little fruity nuances, Wulong Cha X is amazing. It’s so fresh and green, refreshing and calming in the same time, that I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. I have only tested it today, in a 35 Celsius degree temperatures and it goes on the hot skin a glove!!! Maybe not the best comparison, but you get the point... I wish I had it side by side with another favourite freshie from Xerjoff, Torino 21 to see side by side which one I prefer better because they serve the same purpose and are quite similar from what I can recall. This is more complex with fruits and florals added but these notes are not the stand out in the composition! I love this more than I have expected for sure! I am impressed with Nishane, they have great fragrances that perform well.

Wulong Cha X is definitely in the same family as Wulong Cha, but to me it is not simply “Wulong Cha with added magnolia,” as many people describe it. The opening of Wulong Cha X is far more citrus forward: sharper, brighter and noticeably more yuzu-driven. It even has a slight tartness that sets it apart immediately. Where the original feels more balanced with its clear tea impression, Wulong Cha X leans less into the tea and more into a vivid blend of magnolia and thyme. The magnolia is especially prominent, adding a lush, creamy warmth as the fragrance develops. This creaminess transforms the scent into something elegant, soft and undeniably chic. Compared to Wulong Cha, which feels more evenly composed, Wulong Cha X carries a more refined, dressed-up aura. It is sophisticated, warm and creamy, with a citrus sparkle that keeps it luminous throughout.

I just wanted to say that this fragrance lasts forever. I (over)sprayed it on my shirt yesterday morning, and fearing that I oversprayed it a bit much, I decided to change my shirt for the day so I wouldn't be seen as "that" guy. So I took it off and put the shirt back in my closet yesterday. This morning I could still very clearly smell it on my shirt. This stuff is eternal. But onto the scent itself- I can't speak for the WuLong Cha original, but WuLong Cha X is such an incredible tea fragrance that I'm not sure why this isn't on the top of everyone's list in terms of tea frags. It's so peaceful, it's so zen. It's high quality. It's so chill. This is not a party fragrance, this is a meditative experience. The blast of citrus and tea will transport you into the gardens of Asia and you won't want to come back. 10 out of 10.

١٠/١٠ نادرة جداً. بصراحة من اصل مئات العطور هذا اعتبره توب ١٥ يبدا حيث انتهى الاصلي، وافضل بكثير رغم جمال الاصلي الطاغي هنا شاي اسود مع لمسات سكرية خفيفة جدا، يعتبر خفيف جدا ولكن ليس حمضي بالدرجة الاولى. كل النوتات الموجودة ناعمة وغير بارزة باستثناء الشاي الاسود شاي اسود، حمضيات خفيفة، طبقة مسك ناعمة، لمسات خضراء باهتة مثالي ١٠/١٠ - An extremely rare 10/10. Out of the hundreds of fragrances I’ve tried, I’d easily place this in my top 15. Begins from where the og ends, and a much better one despite how good the original is. The dominant note is black tea with very subtle sweetness. It’s a very light fragrance, but citrus is not its main character. Everything is soft and understated except for the black tea, which clearly takes center stage. Black tea, light citrus, a soft musk layer, and faint green nuances. Perfect 10/10

Oh God! What a perfume! Lot of people mentioned hotel lobby smell and I agree. There was a super cool and super weird hotel in Jakarta called Pullman and I adored the way it smelled. I often thought why can't they make a perfume that smells like this so i can take that smell everywhere with me. And then, many years later, when I first smelled Wulong Cha X I thought - finally my wish came true! It is so refreshing and callming, so unique and unisex. I tried the original one and they are very very simillar but the citruces in the original are more screaming and it is more for summer while X i can see myself wearing it througout the year. The dry down for both is pretty much the same. I can smell the tea note in both. It lasts around 7,8 hours on my skin and has a decent projection. An amazing, amazing scent!

Woah, this is absolutely stunning! I already liked Wulong Cha, despite usually disliking fig notes. But comparing these side by side, the official description is totally right: this is a fluffed up, prettier and cleaner version with the rough corners smoothed out. I wouldn't say that this is "soapy", because this definitely is not what comes to my mind from that term. But the changes made do remind me of soap and cleanliness. Like a very pretty, soft, yet natural cleanliness. Side by side, the original also comes across almost spicy. It also has way more of a rooty, raw, vegatal and earthy fig note. That earthy spicy sharp edge has been tamed here with pretty cleanliness. Reminds me of something I used to have in the bath as a kid. This is probably my favorite rendition of tea in a fragrance so far.

Beautiful summer fragrance. I got this as a blind buy a few days ago and have been testing it out. Multiple compliments that I smelt like a luxurious hotel/spa lobby in the best way possible. Tea notes really become pronounced after 45 mins and beyond. Opening is a very green/herbal scent. Longevity is great as all my clothes from the previous night still have a strong scent. Sillage is disappointing given that this is an Extrait version. Scent: 9 Longevity: 8.5 Sillage: 6.5 (noticeable at intimate distances after the hour mark) Would recommend for the office, summer outdoor events, summer date night. Possible can still be pulled off in the colder seasons if coupled with some incense/bukhoor. Get it from discounters, not really worth retail for what it offers.

It's negative 12 degrees C outside today. So I stayed inside... Haven't worn this since summer, and sprayed a few spritz just to remind myself what it smelt like. Man I see why I loved it so much. The opening - I finally realized what I was getting from this - BLUE JOLLY RANCHERS. That's it. Yes, it's citrus, but I swear, you smell the blue jolly ranchers first. The tea really isn't apparent at the start, it takes 15 to 30 mins to kick in. But when it does, it lasts for the entire day on skin, and weeks on clothes. Such a beautiful, calming, well blended natural scent. It smells photorealistic, nothing overly synthetic. So glad I have this in my collection, and can't wait to put it into rotation in the summer again.

Had to rewrite this whole review; I got it all wrong. Wulong Cha X is what I think quiet luxury would smell like. I can't seem to put it quite into words, but this scent is like my dirty little secret. I'm glad I got X when I did. Driving around with the windows down and sunroof open during these beautiful summer days, I love how I can get whiffs of the tea as the wind blows through my car. I consider Wulong Cha X a secret because, oddly, nobody I'm around has ever commented on it. Maybe it's so well blended that people just assume it's my natural scent? Whatever the case may be, I love this scent, and if you can see my old review know that I was simply a fool who's just yapping on the internet. Rating: 9.5/10

While the original WŪLÓNG CHÁ is known for its refreshing strength, WŪLÓNG CHÁ X softens the boldness of the original by incorporating florals, particularly magnolia. The fragrance begins with a vibrant citrus burst from bergamot, orange, mandarin, and yuzu, offering a sense of escape to the Mediterranean coast. As it develops, heart notes of magnolia, thyme oil, and green tea create a serene, tea-inspired experience. The base of musk and fig adds warmth and depth, leaving the wearer feeling fresh and energized throughout the day. I prefer this version to the original for its sparkle and improved performance on all levels (longevity, projection and sillage). 8/10 in my book 📝📓🤓 A big like for me!

I like this better than Wu Long Cha. In fact, I wouldnt get a full bottle of WLC but I`ll most likely get a bottle of WLCX. They are obviously very similar but WLCX is calmer, tea notes in WLCX doesnt scream like hey look at me im a citrus tea garden, feels more balanced, slightly less masculine compared to og. Og WLC is capable of becoming boring since citrus and tea notes are dominant as I have mentioned and plus og WLC smells more like a room spray type thing. I literally get WLC smell from mall stores sometimes. WLCX a little bit better imo because of this reasons. Still it all comes to preference, some people may want more tea and citrus compared to calmer tea notes and florals.

Litsea is a fruit of a small evergreen tree native to the Far East. It is said that angels like its scent so much that they are deeply grateful when we spread its aroma. An aromatic, slightly citrusy aroma that reinforces the opening of this splendid fragrance created by one of the most talented noses in perfumery: Rasquinet. The green tea notes, always accompanied by aromatic accents, do nothing but make this fragrance energizing, very pleasant, with a more incisive personality than the already wonderful Wulong Cha. Here, from the X line, this is a very perfect, harmonious and sparkling reformulation. I like. “Four Belties” painted by Lin Fengmian.

Wulong Cha X is a smoother and more feminine take on the original. 🍵🍊🍋🌿🥬🫚 The original is a zingy and sharp tea scent. Think Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, Bvlgari Thé Vert, & Giorgio Armani Thé Yulong but with a big punch of citrus. Unisex. Wulong Cha X takes that underlying tea dna and adds magnolia. It looses that bitter green/citrus opening and makes it soapy, clean, and floral instead. Not redundant to own both, though imo men should skip this. This is for women who want an easier-to-wear Wulong Cha. Classy, feminine, clean, effortless, spa-like. 🪷 Still strong, but feels less aggressively strong since it’s not as biting. Love it!
