Excellent! If you experience this only on paper or test strip this is mostly about the florals - very pretty, dewy petals with warm musk. But! Try it on skin to also release the citrus fresh notes first of all (reminiscent of good Italian Eau de cologne), then as it develops you'll notice how the coriander (and perhaps lasting citrus notes) retain a certain savoury edge that stops this from being 'just another romantic floral' - though this is a romantic floral, albeit one with warmth and abundance. If you've ever encountered sambac jasmine in the heat, you'll remember that extraordinary combination of heady, milky sweetness and dewy euphoric humid green. This perfume gives you that experience- though more temperate, less milky and heavy. To me that is a sort of genius. I almost got it from Tom Ford's Jasmine Rouge - not the heavy indole-laden jasmine you experience from jasmine absolute, but the olfactory equivalent of how jasmine is experienced in nature. If it was just that - then it would be an over simplified perfume, but here in Pontevecchio I experience the warm musk dry-down, subtle powdery wood of sandalwood and a certain relaxed quality - the sense of not aspiring to any status - someone comfortable in their skin. My friend, on smelling this, described it as a sort of 'contented' scent. So yes, it's definitely not one of those unsettling sexy animalic, or challenging niche style perfumes. Neither would it be described as zesty or youthful. But if you're not youthful as such any more, then why on earth would you want to do anything other than embrace your mature womanliness?! This is a perfume of warmth, summertime and simple enjoyment of the good things in life. To get a bit esoteric on you, it's the perfume equivalent of the nine of Pentacles in the Rider Waite tarot, have a look at that image and you'll get it! Sillage soft to moderate. Longevity 8 hours plus though it becomes a subtle skin scent (on clothes retains floral notes longer with less musk)

Intense, warm white floral, beautifully balanced. Feminine, uplifting, very summery and sophisticated. I've had a full bottle of this since about 2016. I believe it's intensified snce then. I store all my perfumes carefully in a small cabinet, so it's not gone off at all, rather it's stronger. This is a good thing since it's excellent value for money! I've always perceived this as a perfume of contentment. It absoloutely suits high summer - the height of June into mid-July, where it celebrates beautiful flowers. I just wouldn't wear it in cold weather as it would seem incongruent. It balances savoury, floral, spicy, citric, sweet and musky just perfectly. I mean, to my mind musk is ideally a subtle component of perfume that comes to the fore in drydown, in a warm, come hither sort of way. Ponte Vecchio does that perfectly. I find the tops notes quite powerful - so much so that I tend to squoosh this into the air and walk into it, rather than spray direct onto skin. Give it a day though and you'll really notice the gorgeous dry down, surely the mark of a high quality scent. Perfect for summer celebrations. It's not cutting edge, it's not old fashioned, it's just happy, subtly sensual and feminine. Big love!

Guusje is right, this is lovely! The Bergamot and Mandarin seem to pass me by completely, but I can detect the faintest hint of spice for the first ten minutes delicately overlaying the floral heart. I can smell all three of the florals, but on me it is the Iris which is the Prima Donna taking centre stage, whilst the Rose and Jasmine dance about her, wafting their breezes in a rolling meadow bathed with gentle sunshine. This evokes a feel of being in nature, ... soft, delicate, airy, and serene. Slightly creamy, slightly powdery, and very very feminine. This would be perfect for a romantic picnic for two in the countryside. It's as though the powdery whisper from the dusky iris and rose gently and gradually floats off with the breeze leaving a dry down that for me is dominated by white musk, with just a hint of sandalwood and amber. The closest thing I can liken this to that may give a good idea of the general smell is a softer, smoother version of Annick Goutal – Passion. If you like that, then I am pretty confident you would like this, ..maybe even more so. I'm fence sitting on a preference myself :-)

Oh, oh, oh. This is beautiful. I'm not as educated on fragrance as others here, and I'm certainly not as poetic, but let me just say that this is SUCH a lovely, womanly scent. I say, "womanly", because in my opinion it is for a woman, NOT a girl. It's much too deep and complex. I had earlier declared Café Chantant (also Nobile 1942) as my signature scent, but I think this lady is going to knock her aside for a bit. It's just Too lovely. Wear this in the evening, and in the morning when you smell it still on your skin, it will make you smile. For me, it's flowery, but not *too* flowery, musky, but not *too* musky. There's the tiniest note of vanilla that pops up. There's something deep and romantic and complex about it that I simply don't have the vocabulary to describe. Deep, voluptuous loveliness. Like the warm glow you get from sipping a nice Porto as the sun is going down. Love.

Very Pretty & Romantic! The refreshing opening with bergamot and mandarin orange blends in perfectly and smooth with the floral heart notes. Iris, Jasmin & Rose are all there when the scent settles on the skin. Although Iris definitely sets the tone, Jasmin & Rose nicely balance out the powderiness of Iris so the powdery tone stays ever so subtle. The musk is clean and the sandalwood soft & creamy. Coriander seems to be there from top till dry down, lending its fresh citrus-like aspects to the composition while also adding a subtle warm glow. Wears fairly close to the skin with moderate longevity. ♥♥♥♥

This is real iris flower, the deep violet one in the picture smells exactly like this perfume. I get continuosly the musc base and a little bit of citrus and coriander as a fine rounding edge, but for more than 10 hours now this iris is still here, entrancing me. Silage is decent for the first 4 hours. There is no sweetnes here, and actually has a light masculine vibe. It could efortlessly be unisex. Spring, summer, autumn, mild winter ... makes no difference. I wear it today in late autumn and it's nothing less than perfect. Adore! Ageless noble beauty. Edit: it stays for days on clothes.

A sophisticated clean scent. I feel like I’ve emerged from a luxurious spa. Slightly powdery and slightly nostalgic and just a kiss of soapy notes. It’s very elegant and not overpowering. The ingredients all blend together in a sophisticated way.

Within the line of perfumes in the EDP concentration of this House, called Supreme Fragrances (Fragranza Suprema), was released a pair of fragrances called Pontevecchio. The name means Old Bridge and it is an arched medieval bridge over the Arno River, in Florence. It is believed to have been built even in ancient Rome and was originally all wood. It was destroyed by flood in 1333 and rebuilt in 1345. Became famous throughout the world for having thousands of padlocks on its extension, as a symbol of eternal love. Couples locked the padlocks and threw the keys into the river, believing that they would be so forever linked. Since a few years back, due to the high cost of maintenance, anyone caught putting a padlock must pay a fine of 50 euros. I told the inspiration, let’s talk about the fragrance. Pontevecchio W for Women has notes of Mandarin, bergamot, and coriander seeds, in the output; Iris Florentina, Bulgarian rose, and Indian Jasmine, in the heart; white musk, amber woods, and Indian sandalwood, at the base of the olfactory pyramid. Here, the Iris reigns absolute, exuding nuances similar to violet, holding hands with jasmine and rose. The musk gives a feminine tone at the end of evolution. Pontevecchio W for Women is a floral fragrance that depicts the romantic and gentle woman, who believes in love, above all. Pairs perfectly with the male version, as it tells the story. A perfume symbolizes the key and the other, the padlock. While one bends and opens itself to the feelings, the other is firm and resilient.

"Ponte Vecchio W" is such a well done feminine floral - all trough very likeable and crowd pleasing, a seemingly perfect first niche for those who enjoy powdery, musky florals. The initial iris accord was a bit odd, but soon it was overwhelmed with freshness of mandarin orange and bergamot that it settled to be a beautiful breezy, feminine floral fragrance perfectly suited for everyday wear. The jasmine is almost sparkling here and all together it behaves very lovely on the skin. Silage is mediocre and staying power is excellent as is the quality of the notes - around 10 clear hours on my skin. My only negativity towards this would be the price tag, despite the quality it stroke me as something a bit uninteresting and designer like.

Its soapy and light, musk heavy but not a cheap musk heavy fragrance so to speak. Hard to hone into any individual notes, there is light orris and there is some coriander and there is citrus in the periphery. But everything is very well blended - and quite elegant and lively. Its almost like this fragrance is all heart note, not much top and not much bottom because the musks used are light. Bit of sandalwood coming through from the base, but not too much thankfully. This feels to me like the kind of fragrance that melds itself into its wearer. The backstory of the bridges of Florence is befitting to this one, makes me think of a sophisticated romantic light spirited young woman in love. Great for summer and spring.

Pontevecchio has a sweet floral freshness that I don't usually associate with iris perfumes, which are either more powdery-fluffy (Flowerbomb Dew or Courreges Blanc) or more weighty-austere (Dior Homme Intense or Prada Infusion d'Iris). Even though it is most definitely NOT a mimosa dominant perfume, to my nose, at least, it totally has the shower-fresh quality of Louis Vuitton Herures d'Absence or Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue. It's super ladylike and a bit classy. But, while I like it, I just don't love it, but I'm hard put to figure out why...

It smells refined, almost cheesy, like a love comedy in which slightly more risque hot scenes are missing. Like a boring beauty. Iris perfectly nestled between subtle freshness, expensive soap and a hint of ethereal sweetness. I understand that many people like it, but it's not for me.

I blind bought a sample of this and what a surprise when I smelled it! It reminded me of a 1980s YSL Paris vibe (which was my very first "designer" perfume) - I really liked this trip down memory lane and might just get a bottle for the scent memory! :)

Nobile 1942 Pontevecchio (for men) is a fragrance that was on my radar, admitedly for rather frivolous reasons. To be quiet frank, i really liked the bottles. Atleast in pictures, they have an interesting, almost ocult-like label and ornate caps that give an old-relic like impression which im a sucker for. The name is also beautiful because for us speakers of the Romance Languages, some Italian words have such a nice ring to them. Pontevecchio seemed like one of the relatively more popular releases for men from this house but unbeknownst to me, what i actually procured was a sample of the women’s version. Smelling Pontevecchio W, i cannot ignore that it reminds me of another perfume i’ve recently tested and that is Iris Silver Mist by Serge Lutens. The fragrance debuts with a heavy powdery accord. I’ve tested many powdery perfumes but the density of Pontevecchio’s opening is almost opressing, death by powder shall i say. Pontevecchio showcases a similar scentprofile to Iris Silver Mist, a near colorless Iris, plain as immaculately clean white bedsheets only not made out of linen but out of...powder? I cannot explain how, but Pontevecchio feels a touch more masculine then Iris Silver Mist, but only by a barely quantifiable margin because the Lutens is an androginous perfume itself. Iris Silver Mist feels clinical at times, cold, sharp, lifeless and haunting like the fog. Pontevecchio on the other hand makes me think that beyond the “Iris Mist” there is something ever so palpable. Underneath, a touch of a floral woody accord clings to life, giving it another sublayer that makes me prefer it to the Lutens (blasphemy!). I’ve recently revisited Amouage Gold Man (and Chanel No 5 by extention) and i got reminded of the vintage and rather monotone powderyness of the scent. Pontevecchio behaves much in the same way, only the source and nature of the powderyness isn’t from the aldehydes and white florals but deafening Iris. Speaking of which, in Pontevecchio W i discovered my favourite classic Iris accord that i’ve smelt so far. I called it classic Iris because its a far cry from what most guys think of when Iris is mentioned. Its worlds appart from the modern sweet chocolate-Iris perfumes such as Dior Homme Intense or the Givenchy Gentleman line. In the end, i really like the perfume but in the same way i like my moody, melancholic perfumes. Im drawn to it the same way im drawn to a sad drama or thought-provoking film as opposed to how i like an action or fantasy movie with thrilling action sequences, a heroic storyline and charming, good looking actors. Even tho instead of getting the men’s version of the perfume i got the women's version, i don’t mind at all. It was a good experience and a perfume i could certainly see myself wearing.

I received my bottle today which I bought blind based on the notes & reviews here. I'm now seriously thinking that I must "smell" things differently to most people. This is absolutely NOTHING remotely like I was hoping/expecting it to be. I was expecting a woody iris centric perfume with a touch of rose & some musk. I honestly can't really detect rose or iris - at least not iris as I know it (my iris references are 31 Rue Cambon, Chanel No 19, & 19 Poudre, Infusion D'Iris etc). On me this is basically a sweetish soapy indistinct white floral with a touch of creaminess & some vanilla. I have to say it also reminds me a lot of Hermes 24 Faubourg, it has a very similar structure & overall "tone" imo. Where on earth is the iris in this? I've been wearing & sniffing this all day so I can say that the longevity/quality is pretty good imo, but I am so disappointed. I just asked my son (who does have a good nose) & his opinion was "big powdery white floral perfume, ok but it's not your style" Hmm... This is a "nice" demure ladylike perfume, but ultimately it's not really my taste, nor do I find it very interesting ...& I am sad about that :( Edit: I wonder if this has been reformulated. My bottle has a different cap to the one shown here - but it's definitely the right perfume I've reviewed. I think maybe they forgot to put the iris in my bottle!

Have I eaten too much vegan food? The blott promised gentle blooms, freshly sharpened pencils, a little cade, a little incense and aromatic herbs. On the skin ... What is thiiiiiis, mustard, ketchup, french fries scent loops from the newly cleaned fast food kitchen. Then went into the question and read the notes. Probably Sandal and coriander playing robbers. An hour later. An aromatically spiced vegetable fried deep in oil, Yep a squash. The smell of food that has stuck to the skin, clothes and pots despite being aired out or scrubbed off. Not unpleasant at all, food and metal, but not quite what I expected on those notes.

I have recently found I quite like floral woody musks but this isn't a favorite. Though not listed, there is a hint of tobacco of the cigarette ash tray variety that I dislike. I smoked for 20 years before I quit and the smell of stale cigarette smoke lingered on my clothes and hair the entire time. Now that I'm smoke free the smell of stale cigarette smoke isn't really a scent I choose to keep around and I certainly don't want it in my perfume. That said, this might be the right kind of perfume for the right kind of gal. I can see a guy wearing this easily too.

Ponte is an etherial carpet ride through the gardens of St. Iris. To me iris is a note thats hard to get right. Too much and it is cold and cutting. Too inferior and it is stale and limp. Here it is just right. More specifically, it is very, very right. It is encased in a harmonious blend of woods that wear as a light skin scent. The opening is a smidge plastically but this quickly gives way to the heart. I am quite a fan and I recommend this to people who like crisp, floral greens.

Citrussy, starts off fairly soapy. Then I get loads of coriander and it turns into something rather spicy. Overall very fluffy though, not super iris dominant to me more of a spicy cloud of musk. Leans sweeter rather than the dry iris, soapy spicy floral drydown. I feel like I had to really press my nose to make a description of this, and pick things out as it felt a little nondescript at first maybe because of the fluffy light airy nature.

I'm still unsure about this. It's not my fav smell ever but I don't hate it when I wear it as it does smell quite classy. It smells like someone who inherited generational wealth. Overall it smells like a nice vintage bar soap with something bitter green up top. Weak-moderate projection (under an arm length) and weak-moderate longevity (around 4-5 hours).
