It shifts from bold to beautifully complex, with layers that slowly unfold.mango leaf and wooden shack are listed notes .I've never smelled them in a fragrance before but I definitely get a beautiful greeness here that is for sure. The base of moss, patchouli, and musk brings this fragrance to a rich, earthy conclusion. The moss wraps around you like the dense underbrush of the forest floor, while patchouli offers its signature earthiness, and musk adds a seductive, animalistic depth. Hides is a fragrance not for the faint-hearted. It demands respect with its overpowering presence, but rewards you with an incredibly unique and rich scent profile that feels like no other. If Terrible Teddy had an older, bigger, more formidable sibling, this would be it. It’s a beast of a fragrance, unapologetically bold, and a true masterpiece of green and animalic notes. Beauitfully sophisticated olfactory journey through a very primal process. Really unusual (in a good way), bold and memorable. It develops on my skin beautifully, evoking woods and animals. Smells both modern and ancient at the same time.

Okay, I feel mean shitting on an indy perfumer and UK based brand but I have to say I thought the intention to do something new was clearly there but the execution.... not so much. The first red flag for me was the colour of the perfume itself, the vibrant green looked like a preponderance of natural materials, not innately a bad thing but usually not the best sign in my experience. Hides actually turned out to be my favourite of the lot in the end so let's focus on the positives, I found the opening a touch muddy and unfocused, almost what I'd expected but as it settles you do get a little bit of a violet note, but I think the mood of this perfume is all wrong for the inclusion of osmanthus for example, seems squshed and lacking breathing space against a sort of overarching, mossiness. The bit I really enjoyed was the musky base and something of an 'animalic' feel which to me was just born out from a cluttered composition. This is honestly how I felt about this one but you might not, so I suggest you don't listen to me and go try it for yourself because it's an artistic brand at least attempting something new, rather than playing it safe or cloning something else.
