OSA-re

Super femme and 100% MY chemistry. I love it, but I'm aware that if somehow a perfume could be made by coming up with something to match a specific person's skin, this would be mine. I might be inherently biased because it suits so well. Just made several large not-perfume purchases so buying a full bottle of this is being put off, but that's eating at me. I need some warm weather perfumes and this could be all-weather. The ylang-ylang is creamy, but not so much that it gets cloying. The rose is crisp and very, very "fresh cut" due to the grass and balances the thickness of that ylang. The patchouli is fruity-floral, not incensey-headshop or masculine. It's a simple perfume but such good quality that it doesn't turn sour, despite its longevity. I find it familiar, but never generic.

Heaven must smell like this fragrance... I feel like this has given me a glimpse of it's beauty. This is one of the most glorious smells I've come across, ever. FLOWER-SHOP paradise...amazing! Green, earthy freshness plus lovely sweet heady florals. I did not know Ylang could smell this good, here it does. IMO it is more of a tuberose in full bloom when it is sweeter and ylang scent, I live in a city where you can purchase freshly cut tuberoses and many fragrances do the flower no justice. Here the ylang is twin to the tuberose. Carnal Flower is my signature fragrance and I will always adore it but this is a 10+++ for me as well. Stunning!

The notes listed for this fragrance don’t do it justice. Osare means ‘to dare’ in Italian and it’s a very fitting name because this is Carnal Flower on steroids. It amps up that classic’s darker undercurrents, perhaps because of the green patchouli but I can also smell slight animalics and a very sexy tuberose accord. I still get whiffs of this the next day even after showering. Utterly beguiling and great work of the people at Profumum.

It's difficult to be creative and write something spontaneous and significant when you aren't even sure what the name of the fragrance represents. Although this is frustrating, I don't necessarily see it as negative. They are allowed to be as creative as they like so as long as their product is high value as it's always been. Yes the quality is just as good as their mother brand. In my opinion it's one of the best out there. So although I don't necessarily understand the name, I do understand the smell. The description is “dare... and nothing else!” So I assume this is one of the grandchildren flexing their creativity. I think the specific reason why I enjoy this fragrance house so much is their attitude toward perfection. The ylang ylang flower is front and center and you can smell every detail and nuance of the flower like banana, sweet and sour elements, tropical flourishes etc. The company seems to study every detail that is integral to their central idea and I appreciate that. I appreciate that someone is actually doing it, as opposed to cutting corners wherever you can. The second note I pick up is freshly cut grass, but not overpowering in any way. Instead the grass compliments more than it competes. The longer it's on my skin, the sweeter it becomes. A bit more powdery as well. I consider this a more feminine fragrance, however; a masculine individual or anybody anywhere can enjoy this as well. Again, the quality of the fragrance allows you to wear this however elegant you want to be. Versatility is a word I don't use often, but I will use it here. Check this out if you want to be unique and you want to show the world you have exceptional taste.

Hmmm... An interesting scent. Osa-re is attempting to cover a territory somewhere between carnal flower (surprising due to its absence of tuberose as far as I can tell) and a patchouli-based neo-chypre such as 31 Rue Cambon. In fact, I think I've encountered this floral-patchouli-chyproid structure before, but I can't recall exactly where. Here I get lots of patchouli+grass which adds a not-quite mentholated character to the floral, heightening its pitch and taking it firmly away from what I recognise as ylang ylang. It's a sort of light, breezy scent, but also vernal and intensely bitter. There's a sense of snow melting in early spring, but the heavy dependency of the entire effect upon patchouli turns me off as someone who isn't a fan of that note anyway. A green freshness permeates the opening and mid. Given I already own Carnal Flower and prefer it (and I do think this is in a close genre even though the scent is not the same), I can't see myself buying a full bottle of Osa-re. That said, I like the overall profile and am pleased to have smelled this. I'd like to encounter it on someone else, perhaps.

It opens with a medicinal burst, instantly evoking the feeling of stepping into a pharmacy. Shortly after, an indolic ylang-ylang takes over the composition. Alongside it, there’s a striking earthy, damp, rain-soaked garden accord that feels incredibly evocative. This part leans toward yellow florals; less creamy ylang-ylang and more like inhaling the scent of a pollen-dusted yellow flower. A beautiful, deeply natural-smelling fragrance, truly, Osa Ré... On my skin this is exactly the same as Micallef Ylang in gold :)

Weird viperous bitter-green with a sickly floral top which completely banjaxed my nose and made me think it was my dread adversary tuberose, done in a specially obnoxious form. Must have been the grass + patchouli effect which induced this nasal car crash - but even knowing there's no tuberose in there at all I can't come to terms with Osa-Re. Stranger yet it reminds me irresistibly (and I wish I could resist the memory) of Naomi Goodsir's Nuit de Bakelite - it's unapologetically hissy and dangerous stuff. Strong, botanical, robust and a good performer - but it's all a bit overripe and oddly petrol-adjacent on my skin. Just not for me, I fear - and it's from a house I love. Something nasty slithers in the undergrowth.

Perhaps the oddest of the Note di Profumum collection, OSA is composed of, per the notes list, Ylang-Ylang, rose, patchouli, and chopped grass. It certainly has a certain sharpness that screams ylang-ylang and chopped grass, but the rose and patchouli do at least anchor the mix in something more familiar to me. Still, this one isn't quite for me. It leans feminine and is mainly a floral/green mix that doesn't quite suit my interests, bunt it's not as if it's intolerable. I could see it quite nicely suiting others, and the care and quality are obvious as with pretty much all Profumum fragrances I've tried. It's my least favorite of the Note di Profumum collection, but since the collection is, on the whole, quite good, that's not intended to be aninsult 6 out of 10

it is really daring, as the name apparently suggests, a loud and poud ylang-ylang with very juicy green notes. I also get the patchouli here but it's not earthy or masculine, rather more green and juicy as well. the drydown is LOVELY. You'll like it if the first part of the description doesn't scare you off.

This is my most complimented fragrance in the summer. It is bold but settles down into the most gorgeous scent. Warm, sexy, somehow reminds me of sunscreen but not in an obvious way. I wear it mostly in evenings in warm weather. It might be a little much for the daytime.

Waxy ylang, bubblegummy tuberose, vegetal grassiness and a champagne-like texture. Irresistible for an tuberose sucker like me, although it leans a bit feminine. A narcotic high quality scent and a lot more safe than most Note di Profumum offerings.

Menthol and white flowers , after settles 2 minutes it's very similar to Aura by Thierry Mugler . I did not like.
