Dark Mystery

I got a sample and I am hooked! Perfect spring scent for my style of gothic momma, gives me confidence and attitude. I think this scent is more feminine and mature, it is not sweet like Black Opium at all. Sometimes the smoke is pushing the scent a bit too far, but it makes it unique and edgy - this is a dark and smoky and leathery floral, name says it all! I have been wearing this to work, mostly on my wrists and 2 sprays max. In the end I detect a very comfy and yummy vanilla - and this is the scent that stays nicely on your hair and clothes. The only down side is the staying power, I think in 4 hours it is completely gone and after 2 hours I think it sits very close by. I will definately be getting a full bottle of this since I havent come across anything like it.💜

Testing a decant and while opening was quite intriguing, little sweet and sensual it faded on my skin after couple of minutes leaving rough leather with oud undertones in the background and the rest of the notes I cant pinpoint, which is not a bad thing actually. Its quite nice, but disappointing in general and if mentioned leather and oud stays through out the day it becomes effortless and casual fragrance with a character for colder days, but for the evenings and occasions this is too mediocre. Personally Im quite surprised the oud is not putting me off as Im not a fan of "heavy" composition, Dark Mystery could be a nice addition for colder, moody days as its not overpowering you and your surroundings, the longer I sniff it and the notes gets smoother the longer I start to enjoy its drydown profile, interesting.

A very good clone of Tom Ford Ombre Leather. The drydown is a bit smoother, a bit more woody. Tom Ford still keeps that leather note until the end.

On me this perfume smells like incense after the initial spray and smells exactly like inside of the church/holy water after it settles. I feel like it would only work on me if I dyed my hair from blonde to black and dressed very gothic. Currently it would just make everyone think that I'm not wearing perfume and that I go to church. On my boyfriend it smells much better, reminding me of an old library. I can't smell any vanilla. It's a very smokey fragrance with strongest notes of saffron, cardamom and leather. If warm, vanilla, feminine scents work best with your body chemistry then this might not work for you.

Pleasant enough, but the sample spray gave me a rash, so I'm disinclined to investigate further and washed it off in about an hour (as soon as I could). Lingered on my coat sleeve for about two days after. Certainly not best in the category in that time, the leather is wholly absent, but there is a pleasant tartness underneath the opening florals. Jasmine dominates. Slightly femme unisex, quite office compatible, but neither original nor great value for what it does.

It's really like Tom Ford's Ombre leather

I feel I need to add to my review after 3 days of wearing this. The name fits, its very dark and mysterious - took me a while to analyze the scent. I wasnt understanding why is The Other one called leather something and this one not even though it was much more leather forward. I now must say the leather is very much supporting actor and is mainly present in the opening, thats why it gives ombre leather vibes. But it quickly goes into background and the main actor here is oud. !!!Its an oud fragrance!!!, and for european standarts quite funky, if you smell upclose you occasionaly get some fecal whiffs - but the key words are occasionaly and upclose. Never in the air and even on the skin you get it just when some other smell is around and overtakes The levander and leather. The First two Times (First Day) I Applied It I havent got it at all, but now I can smell it, it gives the fragrance the dirty edge, but levander keeps it clean in the air, resins add more layers. Its really quite complex, but very much not ombre leather, not even 20% I would say. The longevity on skin is not good, it somewhat projects for like 3 Hours and then it suddenly disappears almost completely, very faint skin scent barely reminiscent of the fragrance. On clothes it stays for days and it doesnt go funky at all. I think the longevity will slightly improve with time, but it will never be very Long lasting on skin. It still gets 10/10 from me because its the first funky oud I like - I would say even love. It’s very smooth, nothing screechy about this. For under 50€ This is steal, I would easily pay 200€ for this.

I get the comparasion between ombre leather and this, but they are quite different. I bought this one today in the shop because it really stood out from the rest and intrigued me (and I have ombre leather) It was also just under 50€ for full bottle so very reasonable Price. The Dark Mystery has something super intriguing behind the leather and Orris. I suspect it being the oud - I dont have much experience with it, the ones that had it I usually hated. But this is super sexy, I get really animalic vibe from this, kinda dirty and I love it. The leather is also slightly different from TF - this is fresher Like in the opening of that spicebomb leather one wheras the tom Ford is straightup carseat. I suspect the performance will be slightly worse as in few hours its already fading and even in the beginning you feel like its not so thick, but thats not a bad thing. It was heavily Discounted in Notino, but under 50€ is Crazy for this smooth of a fragrance, I would buy it for 100 Even. There was one more interesting from the black Edition called spiced blossom that I really liked, but the rest of the line was pretty mid and uninteresting, there was one called leather something and it barely had any... Anyway only had this for few hours but 9,5/10 from me, super sexy, masculine.
