Monochrome

i think its a very coffee based scent. for some reason im almost getting vanilla? not a light, airy one but more of a worn, three day old vanilla that lingers on your pillowcase. the drydown also lasts FOREVER. i cant seem to find the mandarin at all though.. its a very rich and addictive scent but i wish more of the notes were prominent. imo 9.5/10

Patchouli-Coffee and maybe a hint of rhubarb somwhere. It's soft spicy, warm, somewhat powdery, rich, earthy, dirty, dark, slightly wet, bitter, slightly floral, slightly fruity, green, masculine, smooth, quality and classy. Very unique and very strong. Undoubtedly the darkest coffee scent I have come across. It almost smells like making coffee while smoking a cigarette near a flower pot on the kitchen table under the winter sun shining through the windows, in the most presentable way possible. Very Surprised. Edit: Half of the scent composition reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez for Him 2007 by MFK. I'm unsure how to approach it as I'm not fond of the orinignal NR so I'm a bit stuck.

I genuinely think they mixed up the notes with some other fragrance because this is nothing like what it says on the bottle. Don’t get me wrong, I do like this perfume, but it has such a strong tobacco/dark oud scent that I would not have expected from the notes. I can’t smell the mandarin, lotus, or coffee at all. It’s a super sharp opening but it mellows out a bit on the skin and starts to smell more floral and oriental. It’s not a bad perfume by any means but not a safe blind buy.

Straight out of the bottle and on paper this smells EXACTLY like I remember my dad's dip spit smelling after being spit into a can. Just straight used chewing tobacco. Really weird, and I'm sad this couldn't be sampled because it's a waste of a blind buy. Edit: It's definitely better on skin; it's warmer and the coffee/patchouli mix makes for a somewhat sweet and earthy coffee scent. I feel like it has a chocolate smell to it (and somehow I still get tobacco). I don't get the top notes at all, but the mid and base notes are all there and pretty well blended. Unique for sure, but still not super wearable. Hopefully in cooler weather it works better.

Very dark indeed. Upon spraying, I was really surprised to read there was no rose in there. It might be the mixture of lotus and rhubarb, not sure, but the opening is strong, floral and warm. There's definitely the smell of coffee grounds, but completely overshadowed by the dark florals. Absolutely no Mandarin in there, or if it's there, it's hiding under the shadows. It has an oriental quality to it, reminding me at times of Tom Ford's Noir de Noir. No Oud in there but it has an oud personality. Nice, but I'm disappointed not to smell any mandarin, and not enough coffee.

Someone in my extended family smokes. I'll call him B. When my husband smelled Monochrome, he shook his head and said, "This smells like B's jacket." Sadly, that's all I get from Monochrome too. Old, stale cigarette funk. Not coffee, not rhubarb. I can't imagine anyone wanting to smell like this. 4/10, because points for longevity! It's strong and difficult to scrub off.

Is it just me or others also get Peanut Butter smell on the skin
