Prodigieux Le Parfum

If you like Atelier Cologne's Pomelo Paradis and bummed you can't get it anymore in NA, this is the scent for you. Esp. depending on where you live, a much more economical choice as well. I have been using Atelier Cologne's Pomelo Paradis quite religiously the past 2 yrs, and they are both very similar once dried down, except the AC's pomelo can be loud and acidic before it finally tones down a couple of hours later. Now that AC is not longer sold in North America, this could easily be a satisfactory replacement for me. Prodigieux is a pretty and calming fragrance. I don't know why but I pick up black tea from this. The three most prominent notes I get are orange blossom, gardenia, and bergomot. But it's not a flower bomb one would expect looking at the pyramid, nor is it screechy at all. The citrus and rose rounds it out, and it's such a smooth well blended scent. I also pick up ylang ylang; and I don't know what pebbles smell like but if it lends a cool watery note then that's what it is. As a citrus/orange lover in fragrances, I find this toes the line just perfectly from tumbling over to citrus overboard, like if the flowers were pulling it back from the ledge. I think it's an inoffensive scent good in crowds or work, but there's something different enough about it that it still stands out and stop people in its tracks with a je ne sais quoi. That's a hard combination to achieve.

Along with many other reviewers, I use the oils (both types) frequently and love the Prodigieux fragrance. I was thrilled when NUXE released the perfume. Even more thrilled to discover that, to me, the perfume is a true representation of the best of the oils' fragrance. The difference I detect is that the perfume is more focused and behaves like a perfume, whereas I detect an off putting note in the oils that I've found difficult to describe. (I lack the awe-inspiring fragrance vocabulary that so many in the Fragrantica community possess.) Can't recall what oil is used in the NUXE Prodigieux products, but that may be the cause of the bothersome smell. Happily, the perfume is free of that issue. In the context of my fragrance life, I have a finicky and disloyal nose.On any given day I may reject a fragrance that was the prior day's craving so I doubt that a signature scent is in my future. However, this lovely NUXE Prodigieux perfume is proving to be a welcomed and frequent companion; easy to be around - never tiresome, interesting but not so complicated as to require too much reflection, courteous - never overbearing, and surprisingly, has not yet irritated this goldilocks of all things sensory: not too this and not too that but just right. By the way, the NUXE Prodigieux candle is also delightful! Thank you NUXE!

I'm a huge fan of Nuxe products and particularly love their Prodigieux range including the oil and face cream. In my opinion the face/hair/body oil is not noticeably better than any other similar products on the market but its signature scent sucked me right in. So when I saw that Nuxe released a perfume for the Prodigieux range I hopped online and snapped up a few bottles! My impression on the perfume is that the fragrance is strong at first when first sprayed on so don't overdo it. The first notes I get are white florals and vanilla. The perfume then settles down to that familiar Nuxe Prodigieux scent that is exactly like the oil. This perfume is not particularly long lasting but layering it with other Prodigieux products would likely give a bit more longevity. While I think it is predominantly a summer/spring scent, I do think you could wear it in colder weather. I also think it is a very versatile scent that could be worn in the office as well as after hours/out for dinner. Likewise despite being quite a classic style fragrance, it is a perfume that could be worn by a variety of ages. So thumbs up from me and it will definitely become a favourite in my perfume collection of around 50 different scents. If you love the Nuxe oil, you will love this!

People buy Nuxe products because they smell good. Especially compared to all the other stuff in pharmacy. They really stand out. To be honest, that is the main reason why I use them. Having exceptionally difficult skin, my choices are limited and most of them certainly don't make me feel pampered. Nuxe provides the possibility to jazz things up. Huile Prodigieuse has become a legend because it's good and the smell is addictive. But it doesn't last long. Therefore, Prodigieux Le Parfum. It's an interpretation, the variation of the theme and it compliments Huile beautifully. Standing on its own it's not particularly accomplished, just pleasant and comfortable. It also has the traditional perfume structure, something the Huile and Absolu don't or need. The opening is bright with citrus, the middle flowery and the dry down balsamic vanilla with a touch of coconut. While Absolu behaves like a continuation, Le Parfum is a brighter compliment. For a Huile addict they make perfect sense, but for a perfume enthusiast in search of sun tan inspired perfume they are probably too simple, understated and cosmetic.

Love love love! I have used the Nuxe body oil since I lived in France years ago. The smell is super nostalgic for me. It's this delicious creamy floral with a touch of coconut that feels really yummy but fresh. It's not too sugary or cloying at all, especially in oil form. It makes me feel luxurious like I have a beautiful tan and I'm lounging on a yacht somewhere on crystal clear water. This perfume is almost exactly the same scent of the oil and it brings back so many memories for me. I find the perfume to be a little bit sweeter than the oil but it's that same mix of flowers and sweet creamy coconut that are DIVINE in the heat. You can't find this in the states so I had a friend travelling through Europe bring me a backup oil and he managed to find this perfume. Now I only wish I had asked him to buy me two bottles because I have no idea when I'll be able to travel to Europe to get myself another!

On one hand, I understand the comparisons to Soleil Blanc, Terracotta, etc... - on the other hand there's definitely something that makes Prodigieux Le Parfum (PLP) stand out from that crowd. For me, PLP is about 7x more sexy than the others. There's something animalic and almost "dirty" about it... in a great way. It smells like sweaty sex, while wearing suntan lotion, on a bed of of white flowers. While the others are definitely beachy, summertime, beauties, PLP is warm & deep enough for all-year-round wear. Due to the animalic quality it has, I don't think PLP is a safe blind-buy - I can see how some people might be turned off by it. However, if you're looking for something in the realm of "sexy AF suntan lotion".. PLP is definitely worth checking out. Edited to add that silage is moderate, but longevity is amazing. If I wear it at night, I can still smell it on my wrists the next morning.

This is one of the strangest of my recent blind buy additions. At first, I was entirely unsure about it and now I've tried it a few times, I'm much more positive towards it. The notes are definitely more geared towards summer, but the way they're blended don't give me beachy vibes at all. It almost smells a little vintage, without suiting any specific age and mixed with the toy doll scent. I've owned both the Monoi by Yves Rocher and Terracotta Le Parfum in the past. I can definitely understand why the former has a similarity, but not the latter. Monoi is very warm and summery, but this one doesn't really give me warmth, I'd describe it as the edgy and more unfamiliar elder sister. Terracotta leans more buttery, salted popcorn and became very hard to wear. Longevity and sillage aren't very good. I can't smell on skin after about 2 hours or on clothes after about 5 hours.

Like many people living in Northern countries, I am obsessed with sunny, tropical places: jungles, mangroves, beaches. Especially beaches. Perfumes like Prodigieux scratch this exact itch. This smells so happy and carefree to me - which might stem from the fact that I have only ever vacationed, but never worked in a tropical country ;-) I first tried some Nuxe products when visiting a friend who lives in Southern Europe (but not close to any beach!). Also, she is Nuxe's number one fan, as you will not need no Miss Marple to reveal to you, once you've seen her bathroom. After this intense encounter with the Nuxe line, I tried the perfume, too. Beautiful! I get the coconut, the gardenia and the orange blossoms, but not the vanilla. The smell of pebbles (which I translate to the smell of chalk) is strong on me, and it is cooling and wonderful, and also rather surprising.

I am a big fan of the Huile Prodigieuse oil and go through a bottle every few months. The perfume smells exactly like the oil. Exactly. On my skin, as with a few other reviewers, it is pure tropics and suntan oil. A warm, golden smell redolent of hot sun, summer and beaches. I get very few of the top notes except orange blossom and a slightly sharp orange, which fades quickly. Of the middle notes, only a hint of magnolia and gardenia (rose? where?), last through the dry-down and then out come all of the base notes, including the dry, sort of dusty smell of pebbles. It's a seductive, subtle, creamy scent, not 'perfumy', that will really only reveal itself to someone who is up close and personal with you. I would love to buy a bottle, but on me the perfume does not last as long as the oil does, so I may as well keep buying the oil (it's cheaper, for one thing).

This is best as a complementary fragrance to wear with the iconic classic version of the Nuxe oil. The oil itself, although listing less notes, has a sweeter, honey-like/warm note to it that makes it more round and pleasurable than this perfume version. Get yourself on of the gift sets with both and get ready for your most hydrating, effortlessly chic skincare routine ever lol The perfume has a more refined perfume-y undertone to it. It's an all year round scent if you love orange flowers and white shirts worn with jeans( and your hair somehow looks better when messy). When I wore this my boyfriend was in awe because of how good I smelled. Needless to say that made me reach for this even more. Layer away and bath in this, you won't be disappointed! Great projection and lasting power make this a little gem. Still love the oil more, so make sure to get both!

I have the oil, before purchasing it I did not understand why some were in love with such a "simple" scent. The point I've found is that while it is simple, it is very elegant, classy. It's refined and slightly ambiguous, it does not smell like usual white florals, but more like I go to the spa regularly. I associate 'tropical' with fruity, coconut, or with sunscreen, and I am happy to say that this perfume is neither. Simple elegance. I love to have my shoulders and collarbones reflecting light in the evening over a lovely summer dress, on a terrace with the sea breeze, a glass with my lovely girlfriends, it creates the most romantic, fulfilling evening. Summer is not the time to overcomplicate fragrances, I find. Lighthearted fun, appreciating the time to relax, and enjoy.

The scent of summer sun, this is the fragrance-resort. It smells of the legendary "golden oil" - Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, which i personally just adore as and entire line for body by Nuxe. This is smells expensive and i like it. A wonderful aroma of the wonderful oil, because it is so translated from the French "prodigieuse ".Only the fragrance sounds deeper & intense. The scent is very tender, bodily and sunny with a refreshing notes of bergamot, tangerine and orange blossom. In the heart of the fragrance gardenia, magnolia, coconut milk and sea pebbles that make him alluring and at the same time incredibly gentle. The scent persists on my skin for about 5 hours and gradually dissipates into a languid haze. So great!

I love this one! I bought this because I loved the Nuxe Oil and I have to say, to me they smell pretty much the same, except that the perfume is stronger, of course. It smells very Mediterranean to me, first of sweet citrus and in the dry down more like vanilla and pebbles (didn’t know perfumes could smell like them, but I get it now lol). The pebbles are probably the element that makes some people say it smells a little metallic, but I honestly don’t think it’s a bad thing. The longevity isn’t extreme but it does last at least 3-4 hours on me. I also think that this perfume is very original, it doesn’t smell like a hundred others and I appreciate that very much. All in all one of my favorite fragrances.

Prodigieux Le Parfum Nuxe is more than a like. It is not a love for me, but I would surely miss it if it were not in my life. On my skin, the orange blossom projects the most balance by floral notes although rose is almost imperceptible. The coconuts and vanilla notes lends creaminess to the citrus note without making smell like a creamsicle. I love creamsicles just don’t enjoy smelling like one. It is a safe blind buy. I think this could a metrosexual scent. This is a must have in my collection. Unfortunately since Aliza Jabès is no longer the owner of Nuxe, I fear Le Parfum is going through a transition and quality may be compromised. Get them while you can if this sounds like your type of scent.

I adore this scent, but feel the notes are misrepresented on this site. I own and wear the dry oil by Nuxe and this fragrance is an accurate representation of the scent of the oil. Smells like toasted almond, hazelnut, and a slightly sweet macadamia. To me, there is no citrus, floral, vanilla, or coconut. Not sure why people are getting that. From the bottle the edp may not smell quite right, but spray on the skin and it is perfection. You will feel like a sophisticated French lady wearing this. I highly recommend picking up the oil before smelling the edp! It is perfect for layering with the oil.

My skin really loves this stuff, it brings out this scents best features and amplifies them. The result is a gorgeus, voluptuous and very elegant tropical floral. I can smell the creamy coconut milk, the smooth and sweet vanilla, the charming and very pleasant magnolia, gardenia and orange blossom. And in the dry down this very interesting dry beach rock (pebble) note is quite prominent. It all comes together to create a fantastic summer scent reminiscent of the best summer vacations of my life. The sillage is great and I can smell the scent for hours and hours on my skin. I adore this perfume. :)

Sun and summer but in a white floral, mature and grown up kinda way rather than teenage tropical. Citrus and coconut never takes over. Can swear I smell tuberose, but I guess it’s the gardenia and rose combined. Those who gave this a bad review, what made you think the concept would appeal to you in the first place reading the notes...? I feel this is a scent concept you either like or not, and this stays very true to its concept. For me it’s a winner. Longevity could be a bit better though. PS: I find this also works in fall and winter to remember the warmth of brighter days. ;)

Prodigieux is a pleasing and cheerful fragrance. It has a low projection and medium silage but it smells like a perfectly adorable and joyful summer weekend. I feel the gorgeous magnolias most than any other flower, but some roses and gardenia are playing in the background. Coconut is very creamy and subtle, don’t expect a macaroon. And the mineral note makes it remind you of the sand at the beach. If you are looking for a carefree yet chic and beautiful summertime fragrance at a great price look no further!

Very soft , ultimate creaminess and smoothness. The scent oozes comfort and delicate top notes gently carry you over to the perfectly blent coconut and vanilla. There is nothing sharp or sun-tan lotion- like in the scent, despite it's originating from the popularity of the oil itself. Wearable in cold Asa we'll as summer months. Once again Creaminess itself. That's how Vanilla Noir by Yves Rocher would smell, had it creamy coconut added. Highly recommended!

I always have a bottle of nuxe oil since I read that Charlize Theron Use Dry oil Huile prodigieuse so I bought it and feel In inlove with the smell( which is actually better than the benefits of the oil).Than i wanted a perfume to smell like this oil and I found this. It smells exactly like the oil. The longevity and projection are not better or less than most of the perfumes this days.

I blind-bought this, after reading a recommendation on the forum. It is my best blind buy ever. I loved the dry oil from Nuxe and absolutely adored the way it smelled on my skin. This fragrance is even better than the oil, more refined and elegant, and much stronger. Gardenia and coconut, it is like a tropical island in a bottle, with sun lotion and pina colada. Good job, Nuxe!

It’s a beautiful scent . Smells like spring in a bottle with the orange blossom and the vanilla combined . I also find a nice nutty, almost almond bottom note which ties it off beautifully . When trying to imagine this scent , think a walk in mid April with the sun shining above you and a praline ice cream in your hand . Perfect for everyday wear

This is summer in a bottle! It smells just like the oil in my opinion. Someone mentioned furniture polish, but I get no furniture polish at all. Hopefully no one around me does either! I don't know if it's the power of suggestion or what but I think I can smell the "pebbles" note. But it is mainly "summery" florals and a oily coconut. Lovely!

Tropical but also very classy and feminine. It's a clean scent (gardenia) but a 'gourmand' at the same time with the coconut milk and vanilla. It's a nice perfume, Serge Majoullier did a good job ! It's very strong when you spray it but it doesn't lasts on my skin, that's why I spray it more on clothes where it can last 2 days.

I am not a fan of floral scents however this is just amazing - like a warm hug, nothing in this frangrance bothers me (this always happens when I use floral frangrance). Despite it is light floral fragrance, it somehow feels luxurious. Soothing.

THE MOST UNIQUE DNA EVER! No one has managed to ever copy it it is the best summer scent ever! YOU just have to smell it to understand! Been using it for over 12 years! Doesn't smell like any fragrance listed in the smells like section.

It smells like the oil + Lush Flying Fox. The scent resembles 70% of the oil, but less on coconut, more on honey and white/yellow floral. This is very perfumey classic(like Chanel) but the sweet notes are making it modern. I like it.

i really like this ! quite powdery but reminds me of this after oil spf i would buy in france . very floral heavy on application but quickly dries down to a smell of hot rocks on the beach and an amberish coconut cream base .

Whenever we'd travel, my mom would buy a bottle of the oil and the smell would linger in our hotel bathroom. To me, this is summer, it's relaxing, sweet, and coconutty. It's not warm, but it smells /hot/.

I love this perfume! Perfect for a walk to the beach. In my mind i picture a woman in a maxi white flowy dress and beach-wavy hair. It is the perfect perfume to take with you for your summer vacations.

This is a very summery and light floral. I can detect mostly white flowers, coconut, and a hint of citrus and honey. It reminds me of suntan lotions smell. Suitable for summer. Lovely.

It smells identical to Prodigieux Body Oil that is the most well-known product made by Nuxe. It’s an ultimate, out of the world luxurious SPA olfactory experience for me, period!

I wear this on holiday or summer evenings as it compliments all the holiday smells of sunned skin and spf. The body oil is fabulous in this fragrance too.

Monoi oil (tiare + coconut) + pebbles (the same as in Oscar de la Renta = "sparkling" limestone, pebbles, wet sidewalk, thick aluminium foil)

This just smell like perfect beach to me. Luminous, creamy and warm, yet light enough for super sunny summers day. Gorgeous.

one of my favourite everyday perfumes - more of a spring/summer scent, pairs lovely with the body oil.

I received the dry oil as one of my Christmas gifts this year. I've never even heard of this brand before, so it was never on my radar. It's nice for what it is, which is a soft tropical floral fragrance. Projection is very low, but that's because it is a dry oil and not meant as a full-on fragrance. They recommend using this product all over, even on your face. Honestly, I would never put a heavily scented product on my face, but that's just me. It did absorb quickly into other parts of my body, leaving my skin nice and soft, and might work nice run through hair too. Anyway, back to the fragrance. I don't smell half the notes listed, and certainly no coconut, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. They are just so beautifully blended into a lovely tropical scent that in many ways reminds me of a lighter Guerlain Terracotta. Like that scent it is also has the same creamy feel and light sweetness running underneath rounding the composition out. It occurred to me while wearing it that this might be a nice accompaniment to that scent since they are so similar. Overall, I think this dry oil is really intended to be used in hot weather, like a day after the beach on sun warmed skin. I imagine it would project better than the skin scent it is right now, probably at the same level as some of the Guerlain Aqua series. But, while I like the fragrance it really doesn't wow me, though I think it will be nice when you don't want to wear any particular scent, but still want to smell clean, fresh, and a little tropical. Beyond that, I don't have any interest in trying out the perfume.

This is obviously a perfume that behaves quite differently on different skin. This was my experience: Lovely creamy floral alternating with powdery vanilla dust and only very late a fleeting glimpse of of light citrus! The first scent waves reminded me of a chestnut flower perfume i gave as a present once. So no fresh start here, it is straight on sweet, slightly heavy flowers. I would have sworn there is jasmine in this, of a very creamy-oily sweet kind. However, must be orange flower, my uneducated nose is sometimes confused but just to point out that the orange blossoms here are heady rather than fresh. Other flowers are mixed in to create a luxurious, sweet, super creamy/oily and rather captivating composition. Kind of like a Lush product for a grown up, without the candyish undercurrent. Looking at the scent pyramid: Pebbles? Yes indeed! But very dry ones covered by dust, creates a sort of contrast theme together with vanilla, resulting in a very dry powdery effect that alternates interestingly, even if not always totally pleasant, with the dense and sweet floral aspect. Sillage is rather close, longevity half a day. I dont think use of this is limited to summer, i can imagine it quite versatile actually, even if the sillage does not present it as an obvious evening scent. I might have considered buying this floral beauty but these days i do not gravitate to opulent mature sweet florals like this but will keep it in mind for sure! Edit: only in the very end do i get the beach vibe other reviewers talk about.

I bought this because I love the smell of Huile Prodigieuse. I'd use it all the time if my skin were less dry or if it were less expensive. As it is, I need too much of it to make it affordable, so I was very glad when I found out about this perfume. And I wasn't disappointed. I especially like this perfume after it's had some time. At first there is some dominant smell that I would have called "nylon stockings"; having read the description, I assume it's the pebbles. It's not unpleasant later on when it fades more into the background (then it contributes to the general lovely "beach" smell), but at first it's a bit too much. After a while it becomes a very nice beach/skin scent: suntan lotion, a bit of coconut, warm skin, a bit of sand. Lovely! It's pretty longlasting too; I can smell it on my wrist all day long, fading slowly...

I blind-bought this last year, for the life of me I really can't remember why! After one spray I was so disappointed, to me it smelt only of monoi oil, bringing back memories of garlands of scented jasmine flowers being sold on the sidewalk, which I absolutely hated as a young girl. So I put it away thinking, who can I give this to... Last night it snowed, and I looked outside and saw the tall beech trees covered in snow, glowing hazily in the early morning light. I decided to give this perfume another try. Again, the monoi oil dominated. After a while I could smell the rose, the gardenia and coconut had settled down. Later on I smelled something smoky and burnt, perhaps the pebbles? To me this is a winter scent, it is warm, cosy and enveloping. Too heavy for summer. Sweet and smoky. I'm glad I didn't give it away.

This was a successful blind buy for me! I love the oil, so i had to have this! It smells almost the same, but the fragrance is more elegant. It smells a bit sharp, but it is luminous and opulent. It is possible to wear it on winter and at night without problems. It is very oily and has a metallic smell to it, but very faint. It is very well blended and sensual. Think of a budget version of Orchid Soleil from Tom Ford, but less sweet and not so expensive smelling. Sillage is close to the skin, making it a intimate fragrance. I still prefer the oil over this, but i am happy to have it in my collection. The bottle is also really pretty in live. Simple but well made, like the perfume. It also remeinded me of Terracotta, by Guerlain, but this one is happier and not so cold like Terracotta.

Nuxe – Nuxe Prodigieux. 11/08/2015 Nuxe Prodigieux is a beautiful, predominately Spring and Summer, fragrance. It is comprised by, mainly, white flowers rounded by a honeyed note but, it is not at all sweet or cloying. On the contrary, it is citrusy sharp and fresh and it wakes up the senses. I find it suitable for all ages, all occasions and officewear. I think it is pleasant and inoffensive and I do recommend it. The downside to it is the longevity which is very small. It lasts for about an hour, at best. This, combined with the fact that its price is considerable, make the perfume a questionable purchase. If you do not mind splurging on a scent that lasts so little then, Nuxe Prodigieux will not disappoint you. Enjoy the perfume quest. Regards Josephine

This perfume is extremely similar to the body oil. When I wear the oil itself, I get compliments from men, as it really smells like a summer day at the beach, like suntan lotion, as many have already said. I love the body oil. The perfume, though, is only a like for me. I feel that while the oil is creamy, the perfume is a little (too) powdery, so it loses a bit of the creamy feel that the oil has. I still wear it often, particularly during the summer, it's a good dumb grab for a sunny day out, or a summer night. It's not offensive at all, but with decent lasting power, so overall a good perfume. Just worthy of notice that while the body oil got me compliments, the perfume never did.

I bought this as an alternative to Guerlain's Terracotta, and I'm very pleased with the scent. For me the florals were always prominent in Terracotta, and they are in this as well. Both these scents aren't ones I'd consider sunscreen scents but rather scents that smell great with sunscreen. On a beach day, scents like Beach Walk and Soleil Blanc always disappoint me with their presence because they essentially blend in with the smell of the sunscreen I'm already wearing. Those florals are what I need to elevate the fragrance to something special. I'm looking forward to keeping this in my beach bag/pool bag, and not spending over $100 to repurchase Terracotta!

I have always loved the smell of the Nuxe dry oil, so when I saw this EDP, it was a must-buy. And I am not disappointed. The scent is almost exactly like the oil. Nothing complicated, it smells like summer. It has something powdery to it, the presence of citrus nicely balances out the vanilla and coconut. On me it's a skin scent, which is so sad because I'd love for people to pick it up easily. It evaporates quickly, after a couple of hours there is just a faint hint left. Fortunately it comes in a 50 ml handy bottle so it's easy to carry around and spray every couple of hours. Best for hot weather months. The heat seems to bring out the best of it.
