Coffee Man

Coffee é uma franquia de O Boticário que me agrada bastante, e o Coffee clássico é o mais sisudo de todos, com uma composição belíssima e distante da maioria dos flankers que são mais doces. Esse é o tipo de fragrância que me deixa confortável! A pirâmide olfativa descrita pelo O Boticário, tem alguma coisa a mais ou a menos. Está bem similar. Eu sempre procuro as pirâmides descritas pelas próprias empresas. A fragrância abre um pouco alcoólica, nos primeiros 10/15 segundos, e logo vem um acorde áspero, especiado e com um toque cítrico. O especiado mistura cardamomo, gengibre e não consigo identificá-los separados, a não ser pela pimenta que salta com maior intensidade, e nem tento distinguir os acordes cítricos, pois a violeta e a íris ganham vida e logo são quase devoradas pelo tabaco e o couro. A pirâmide olfativa é extensa e eu não sou capaz de fazer distinção de tantas notas. O que mais fica evidente ao meu olfato é tabaco, café, couro, íris, violeta e pimenta, envoltos por almíscar e âmbar, e bastante cedro. A propósito, o motivo de muita gente não sentir o acorde de café, pode ser porque o café utilizado aqui é o arábica premium, não tão similar ao café popularmente comercializado. Coffee Man é sofisticado, viril, maduro, sério, elegante e até romântico. É uma fragrância para temperaturas amenas, tem boa performance na minha pele (mais de 9 horas de fixação e boa difusão, com destaque para a silagem, que me garante perfumação pelo dia todo). Pra testar esse perfume, eu utilizei em temperaturas mais altas, mais baixas, utilizei por uns dias, deixei de usar e voltei pra concluir minhas impressões. Acho que uma semana ainda não é o suficiente pra descrever um perfume. Talvez um mês... Eu gostaria que a íris tivesse um destaque maior na minha pele, como ocorreu com o Homem Tato, onde ela salta às minhas narinas, e onde também me traz um cheiro de tabaco, mas lá, o aspecto é mais licoroso. Já que eu mencionei o Homem Tato, acho que o Coffee Man é absolutamente recomendável para as mesmas ocasiões e clima. Deixo claro que não acho os 2 perfumes similares, apesar de compartilharem alguns acordes em destaque. O Carbon Turbo sim, parece ter tido Coffee como certa inspiração. Voltando ao Coffee Man, é um perfume totalmente autoral e uma ótima opção pra ter exclusividade. Perfumaço!

I've been retesting this perfume several times alongside other national and imported ones with my 5ml sample, and I can only reaffirm that this is one of the best national perfumes I've encountered so far. It's sophisticated, sensual while being appropriate for the Brazilian climate, has one of the most pleasant scents in perfumery, boasts extremely good performance, and has suitable projection for the climate, making it ideal for adoption as a signature scent. I'll go even further: Coffee Man is, for me, what I imagined and hyped (in my mind) La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL to be. A sensual cardamom with spicy nuances, creating something smooth and balanced, yet extremely cohesive and recognizable. Unfortunately, in my sample, La Nuit's performance is so poor that it becomes counterproductive to use it. Additionally, the lavender is much more subdued than I expected, making it a one-dimensional perfume. Not so with Boticário's Coffee Man. Coffee Man deviates from the predominant trends of national perfumery, being a "simple" yet sensual, spicy, and warm perfume, but also moderate and appropriate. If there is a negative point, and this is directed more towards perfume aficionados for appreciation and study, it is that despite the broad composition of notes, Coffee Man is quite linear. The perfume remains basically with the same scent throughout its duration, which is not a demerit. For example, some of the most delightful scents I know in perfumery—like Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée, Y EDP among others—also have this strong linearity characteristic. Edit: After testing all the other Coffee Man variants available at the Boticário I frequent, I can say without a doubt that this one is the best. The most cohesive, most elegant, giving the impression of being the most well-crafted and the best aroma. An honorable mention goes to Fusion, which manages to be original in relation to this one without falling into the cloying gourmand category like many of the others.

When a fragrance claims to have coffee inside and shows it as much as O Boticario do by naming its fragrance Coffee Man I expect much. The ingredients list on the package shows Coffea Arabica Extract. Seems that there is real coffee inside. Next step, how does it smell? It has a masculine, slightly sweet scent. It wouldn ́t remind me of coffee instantly but of something brownish, a little bit of chocolate. The undertone is cedar-like and seems to be Iso E Super. And the lasting power? Coffee Man seems to be a fragrance that, if overdosed, isn ́t recognized by the wearer anymore but may annoy your sourroundings. As the fragrance is well concentrated, 2 sprays last about 2 hours and then turn down to a Iso E Super mono scent. What ́s the purpose to wear? It may fit to any situation, meeting, club out or office. Summer or Winter. It ́s an oriental, but as written above a darker one, not as sweet as many others. Which age would fit the fragrance? Seems to be pretty mature, the older the better. But for the over 60 years old I would recommend something powdery. All in all a well done creation by the brazilian brand.

Now I wore this fragrance for a longer period. I bought my bottles in the official store in Portugal in March 2016. The price for a bottle was 25 Euro with a discount. The fragrance is Made in Brazil. The fragrance is well concentrated and lasts and projects over 8 hours within a half meter (one spray). That's a very good performance for a eau de toilette. The main notes that I get are coffee, tobacco, pepper and leather. So the fragrance smells slightly sweet, fresh and spicy. I compared Coffee Man with Pure Coffee from Thierry Mugler. Pure Coffee has a thick patchouli note that makes Pure Coffee much more powdery. Both can't be compared together, both don't represent the classic coffee smell to me. But Coffee Man is so much better than Pure Coffee. It's the perfect night club fragrance. Long lasting and great smelling. For me the fragrance is so much better than any Le Male, 1 Million, Spicebomb or Egoiste. And by the way, nobody wears it outside of Latin countries.

This is a very popular fragrance around here. Although it has a very warm appeal, I've had no problems at wearing it on hot days, unless the amount used is overdosed. At first sniff you might be able to mostly feel the scent of pepper mixed with bergamot and grapefruit, cardamom and a noticeable note of ginger. A rich floral blend shows up, coming next from the remnants of pepperish and greenish notes; in the end it leads to an outstanding combination of tobacco, amber , leather and coffee. Despite the label "Coffee", the coffee notes are just too plain, what would not justify the name of the fragrance. My favorite fragrance by O Boticário, they've done a great job by this. 10/10.

A True Gem! I love coffee in fragrances! It’s one of my favorite notes.. This is the best coffee fragrance I have ever smelled.. I love wearing this stuff!! Thank you to ChicagoTony for adding this into a swap :) The presentation is decent unique bottle with a cheap cap.. First off, I get no citrus.. I get a smoky coffee with amber in the background.. There is a creamy sandlewood note that comes out at the dry down.. This is delicious.. O’Boticario bring this back please!! If you can find this get it.. Definite full bottle worthy.. I’ll be sad if I can’t find this anymore after this bottle is gone.. Rating 9.7/10 Beautiful perfection

My second O Boticario coffee fragrance – could buy at a heavy discount and it’s really a nice fragrance again – really lovely fragrance – longevity and silage is not top but the fragrance is really nice – smells also familiar – I was two times on holiday in Brazil – and it’s kind of strange immediately when I smelled the fragrance it took me back to Brazil – a spicy coffee scent – all these O Boticario fragrances have been blind buys and except for two – all have been great – the other two I gave away

I really like this. For the winter/fall, it can easily be worn every day, in any setting. This fragrance smells, to me, fresh, but also warm and spicy, which makes it really nice for cooler weather (without it having to be freezing). One comment I have, though, is that I can't smell the coffee note. That is not to say this is a bad fragrance, only that it doesn't smell like coffee. The name is misleading, but the smell is wonderful!

I met it in my last trip to brazil. Coffee? No way hehe, he's a big Spicy fragrance. The pepper notes are perceptible and intense, sometimes green and fresh, sometimes classic and modern, for me it's a true chypre. Great work from Boticario.

Esse perfume faz parte da minha adolescência, é tão gostoso. Tem cheiro de homem bonito hahaha, eu tenho sempre ele comigo. Eu não sinto muito o café não e nem a pimenta. O amadeirado dele é bem gostoso, ótimo perfume pra atrair olhares

I live in Brazil, and here this is a very popular perfume. It ́s very very sweet, but everyone loves it! When i use it I get A LOT of compliments, it ́s really amazing. But i guess it is a little hard to find it out of Brazil.

When I wear this I feel like I'm in a Starbucks huffing on a Boli Royal Coronas cigar in my leather jacket. Coffee Man is what dreams are made of. Way better than Mugler's Pure Coffee.

To me, it's really F***** strong. Go easy on the trigger. Last for ages, and is a compliment getter. Very good perfume. A little synthetic, tho.

Really really sexy, and lasts for ages (10+ hours... GREAT for an Eau de Cologne) I get compliments every time I use it ;)

Coffee Man is a warm, spicy, ambery dating fragrance that later develops a darker, rougher edge and is perfect for evenings. It opens warm and spicy with a pleasant sweetness from cardamom, followed by nutmeg with amber in the background. The opening and overall concept reminds me very much of typical well-known Hugo Boss “dating” scents—especially the flankers of Hugo Boss Bottled. After about half an hour to an hour, the sweetness fades and the scent comes across a bit darker, more masculine. I don't know if its the leather, the coffee note or the tobacco. In general, I can’t really pick up much coffee or tobacco from it, which many people will probably prefer, since not everyone appreciates a coffee note in a fragrance. It’s a great dating scent for fall and winter, but it can also be worn at night in spring and summer without any issue, as it’s not overly sweet and the sweetness doesn’t come from cinnamon or vanilla. If you’re into warm-spicy dating scents this would be an easy blind buy. Sillage is moderate, and the longevity remains noticeable for several hours before it turns into a skin scent.

This is a nice scent. It's not a "wow fragrance" to me, but it does the job as being sweet, well blended and coffe like. It's quite edible. I don't think the longevity on this one is good though, but I also live in a colder climate than Brazil, and maybe in its native country this acts like a beast? Anyway, it's not at pure coffee scent, there's more to it. It's almost fruity to me. I'd recommend smelling before blind buying. Scent: 6/10 Projection: 5/10 Longevity: 4/10

cheap aftershave, not coffee! begins as a raw old style aftershave scent. bitter citrus with dead flower base. gigolo on a rio beach. sleazy oiled overdone. i am trying to figure out what about the juice makes me so unhappy. i takes me back to trying fragrances in a discount bin. all variations on sweet aftershaves, the vibe is very old, very cheap "alcohol" aftershave. cologne for someone who has only received the most inexpensive scents at christmas. the ordinary ugliness does not get to a retro charm but merely confusing fabric softener scents for actual perfumes. all in all, after the alcohol burns off, it is the bottom of a coffee cup that had mild coffee with too much sugar and cream.

Strong, long lasting, oriental and spicy.

I received this one as a birthday gift from my brother. I'm both a coffee and a perfume addict so he wisely grabbed this one thinking that I could like it. And he didn't fail. This scent is gourmandish, but I don't smell the note of coffee... if it is there, than there's just a hint of it. I smell rather notes of chocolate, tobbaco and amber mainly. The scent is just slightly peppery and the overall impression is very pleasant but it's linear all the way, with little development in the drydown. It's longlasting but the sillage is just moderate. My only concern is with the basenotes that are synthetic and reduces the appeal of this scent. In the end, this was a very good effort from O Boticario to release a nice creation, but in my opinion the name of the scent is not accurate, and therefore, not adequate. Coffee for men strongly reminds me of Animale Animale, but not as strong nor longlasting and less complex and less natural smelling. Since Animale Animale is not a tame animal, Coffee men will be a good substitute when I'm in need for a more tame and restrained scent. There are always occasions when is not convenient to wear a loud perfume even if you love it, for that occasions I will reach for Coffee man instead Animale Animale when I feel in the mood to wear a gourmand scent. Overall, a very good offer from O Boticario, just don't let the name of the perfume fool you. Reccomended.

Coffee Man is an interesting scent. Opens with indian spices mixed with florals and has a sweet tone, like a candy. This first impression is surprisingly fresh. Up to this point I find this fragrance very agreeable, but then... A subtle coffee note comes in, with a whole load of amber. I don't know if it's my impression only, but I feel it's heavily unbalanced towards amber. An amber punch that gives me headache. Heavy as it is, if I am to use it, I have to apply it very sparingly. I'd spray on a cotton swab and lightly dab on my neck, chest and wrists. Longevity is outstanding, and the sillage is near offensive. On a very cold night, it might work well. Not my cup of tea, not my cup of coffee: maybe this is a scent that takes a well groomed gentleman (who must love amber) to fit in. The bottle is beautiful, but clumsy. mbmbmb, O Boticario is a Brazilian brand and I think it's hard to find it abroad. I suggest contacting them through their site. I'm aware that they have an office in the USA and probably some stores, too. If you're after a coffee scent, pass this one, cause the coffee note isn't that proeminent (amber is). Maybe A*Men Pure Coffee would suit you. If you're after an ambery scent, I'd reccomend Natura's Amó Amasso (also hard to find abroad, but not too much). Note listing: apple, bergamot/lemon, chocolate, wood, amber.

My experience with Coffee has at least 7 or 6 years. I bought it in my first year of college, as my 'night time fragrance'. Differently from a lot of reviews here, to me, Coffee is sweet and green. The leather-tobacco-amber mix is almost creamy. The coffee is not realistic, like you're sniffing the coffee powder or smelling a hot cup. Is more like a feeling. A dark hot and sweet feeling. The tobacco is not dusty or ashy. This fragrance could be easily called SWEET TOBACCO instead of COFFEE. The green feeling is creamy as well, surrounded by the sweetness. Probably the violet/iris/bergamot combo. Is subtle and underneath the sweet feeling. Metaphorically, is like: this guy is hot and raw and sexy, but clean and simple. To me, this is a MASTERPIECE from O Boticario. Not a day-time/hot weather scent. Is for colder days and nights. SUPER SEXY. Sillage and longevity are great from a cologne (you can dance all night, and you'll still smell like it when you get home. And the day after on your shirt). A must have for the guys between 20 and 30 years old. don't buy it for the coffee name.

A long lasting frangrance but too sweet, on my opinion, so it seems a unissex or either female frangrance rather than a male one. No notes of coffee and tobacco.
