Banana Crêpe

I did not expect to fall in love with this scent the way that I did, I guess I never expected banana to smell right with my skin chemistry but this is DELICIOUS. The banana notes are actually pretty mild and are balanced by pina colada overtones. There's some smokey vanilla in there at the base that lingers politely and entices seductively. Also, I think some of you will know what I mean by this: it's Bath and Body Works coded, but she is refined and confident and playful. Love, love, love.

I tried Oakchas gourmand discovery set and was pleasantly surprised my favorite was the Banana crêpe. I never favored a banana scent until now. It’s very candy like at first, think banana runts. Immediately follows up with caramel and musk. The dry down is a beautiful musky ripe banana smell. It’s sweet, it’s nostalgic, and it’s mature with a very sophisticated musk. I will continue to purchase the full sized bottles of this year round!

I made the recent discovery that the Moroccanoil fragrance pairs insanely well with a sweet banana note. Banana’s underrepresented in fragrance and while I wanted the Marc Jacob’s Murakami Green, it seemed silly to get attached to something limited edition and pricey. Enter Oakcha. I’m getting no crepe, no caramel, no warmth from this, just powdery sweet banana runtz with a little coconut and vanilla. It almost smells like those sweet-smelling plastic dolls from the 90s/00s. It performs well and smells nice for what it is but I wouldn’t necessarily want to stand next to someone wearing it as a standalone perfume. It’s magical if you find the right combo to add complexity and warmth and cut through the powder.

This one had to sit for a bit after opening for me to like it. It opens with a very sharp alcohol/gas smell that I get with a lot of dupes that try to mimic BR540. I don’t smell the milky banana latte that the influencers are saying this smells like. It definitely is a green, underripe banana in the opening. On the dry down it’s a very sugary sweet vanillic scent. It has that airy spun sugar in the base as well. I like it a lot now but it took a while to get here. It’s definitely the most green banana perfume in my collection and I think that balances out the sickly sweet base, but it does also lend an almost tart quality to it.

This smells like a fresh banana! Like if you opened up a yellow banana that still has a bit of green on it, and opened it inside an ihop. The dry down is super sweet and cozy. I'm not gonna lie, at first I didn't like it, but the more I let it sit, the more I liked it!

I did not expect to like this. The banana smells like banana candy, but I love the dry down. The two combine to be nice, but I definitely prefer it after it sits on you for a while. Warm, sweet, powdery.

Overwhelmingly harsh and screechy synthetic base that quickly takes over any whisper of banana, milk, caramel and vanilla that my nose occasionally picks up on.

For a perfume called banana crepe, I really wish I was getting more of a bakery smell! This one is straight up banana candy, but it does smell pretty nice since I do love gourmand. Just wish there was more of a varied scent profile, I’m really only getting one note. Not bad overall
