Doctor Queen

I love this! Very much reminds me of soda at the opening. Bright and almost fizzy. Thr spices are strong and really come through during the dry down. The cinnamon and cloves definitely give fall vibes, but I would wear this any time.

From the Oakcha Candy Collection Sample Set Scent Notes: I don't think I've ever experienced a fragrance that has such clearly defined "stages" as this one. With the first spray, I got a strong citrus furniture polish scent. I wasn't too put off by that since I've had that happen several times with lemon perfumes, so I was patient. Within a minute or two, the cinnamon and ginger came through strong--and the citrus was nearly gone. I never appreciated any cherry or anise personally, but others have said they do, so could just be my chemistry. As it dried down the spiciness came out even more until I felt the overwhelming note was clove. Hours later (and I'm on hour 9 now), it has dried down to a woody clove scent with none of the initial citrus or ginger notes at all. The sandalwood does not have that strange pickle characteristic that can sometimes happen, which is good, but it is not my favorite sandalwood by any stretch. It just seems to lack the complexity that I'm looking for in a woody scent. Overall impression: Weird name. OK, the name of a perfume seems like it isn't that important, but I really like when a name gives a little hint to the contents. That's just me. Moving on to the important stuff. There is nothing to dislike about this fragrance, but it seems to really have an identity crisis. I know that fragrances (usually) dry down and develop into the scent they are meant to be over time. That I can accept. But this perfume seems like two or maybe three completely different fragrances, with no hint of the dry down in the beginning and no hint of the beginning in the dry down. Final verdict: I'll use up this sample, but I won't be buying a full bottle.

This perfume hits you in like three different acts. The first spray is heavy on the citrus, almost to an offputting degree. Not to sound basic, but it really does smell a bit like lemon-scented disinfectant on the first spray. As it starts to dry down, the spicier notes come rushing forward, most notably the ginger and clove. Now it's making me think of hot toddies: lemon, cinnamon, ginger, honey. The longer it sits on my skin, the more it tones itself down and the more the cherry and anise notes finally make an appearance. I don't feel terribly strongly one way or the other about this scent, but it's pleasant, sweet and would make for a phenomenal fall scent, day or night.

First review! 🎉 Doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell this is Oakcha’s ‘Colaroma’ formula mixed with their ‘Sinful’ formula. I prefer ‘Doctor Queen’ to ‘Colaroma’ but they both smell less like soda and more like Dior Addict in the dry down. Huge Oakcha fan and supporter but I wish this had a little more effort put into it and wasnt just a cheesy Paul reacts PR gig. 😅

Very strange scent. Yes it does remind me of fizzy pop but not very sweet, more sophisticated and mature - more like a cocktail than a summer drink.
