Torrid Day

This is one of my favorites I have from Oakcha. The scent is ideal for cooler months and evenings, although it can be worn well on a summer evening. It is a sweeter, smoother take on TF Tobacco Vanille, but that does not detract from its beauty/wearability. I get a lot of spice and dried fruits along with the titular notes of tobacco and vanilla and a cocoa smoothness on the drydown. Projection is strong, and it has an elegant sillage. I can still smell this days after I have sprayed it on my clothes. In the future, I will definitely repurchase.

I love this one, can't stop smelling it. I love the tobacco note in any fragrance because it reminds me of someone I loved very much who smoked pipes, and the sweet tobacco scent used to be in his house and on his clothes. This scent is warm and sweet, it makes me feel at peace and cared for.

Smells like stuffing your nose into a freshly opened pack of cigarettes, with a hint of vanilla sprinkled on top. It seriously smells exactly like new cigs. After it dries down, you mostly get some slight spice and vanilla, not so much tobacco at that point. Wonderful scent though.

Once again, nearly identical dupe from Oakcha, lasts as long or longer and has identical silage. As a fragrance fanatic, you could spray it and TF's tobacco vanille on my arm, and I could not tell you which one is which. Best worn on cooler temperatures.

Love this perfume. This scent screams fall! It leans more masculine but that doesn't stop me from wearing it. It reminds me of a sophisticated cigar bar with wealthy older gentleman hanging out. The vanilla isn't your typical vanilla, it is very smokey!

I have several dupes of TV from middle eastern to dossier-which is my 2nd favorite. Oakcha dupe is my favorite so far. It's much richer, sweeter, denser. A sweet I can tolerate. Dried fruit drizzled with honey and spices, not cheap candy sweet.

This is my favorite fragrence in my rather small collection and I wear it about once or twice a week because my school is scent free, but I love it. Personally when I first spray it it kind of reminds me of apple cider.

This is the longest lasting fragrance I own. It is actually remarkable how long this lasts, on skin it will last multiple days, even with a shower. I have gotten many compliments and find its pretty close to TF.

This fragrance is ADDICTIVE and even better than the original T.F. in my opinion. It layers beautifully and last a long time. I can't get enough of this. Oakcha is THE dupe brand and then some.

I sprayed this on my clothes more than 24 hours ago and it's still clinging. It smells fan-fookin-tastic.

This review was initially made January 2024 when this was newer to market(but wasn’t listed in fragrantica yet), so I cannot speak on behalf of the formula now in 2026. Very unique scent for me, and not usually a fragrance profile i would opt for..to me anything ""tobacco""sounds very dirty and unappealing. This fragrance is opposite of that. Tom Ford has my heart in away, even think won’t spend money to own his frags. I have found all of his fragrances to be complex enough to be original, unique, and very much like peeling layers of an onion. The patch’s version does it some justice. My nose is hella synesthetic and bougie too, so the density and body makes it really appealing. Reading the reviews, I'm dumfounded that ppl arent seeing the complexity. Immediately upon applying (via dabbing on sample, not spraying) BOOM. Chocolate. The Cacao makes a grand entrance immediately followed by the tobacco. The culmination of the 2 create what to me, evokes a chocolate puerh tea, with perhaps a faint hint of chai(specifically ginger&cinnamon) in the spicy notes. Both teas being my favorites, which may be why i like it so much. When I think of tobacco, I think of it being smoked and burnt. but *this* is fresh perfectly cured and aged tobacco, no smoke in sight. Just it's robust and lively, full bodied, warm, oily scent. I won't shut up about it smelling like its in tea form though. Puerh specifically because of its fermentation creating a bold, herbaceous and zesty flavor along with its chocolate notes. There may even be a slight salted caramel note hidden perfectly. With those notes, then comes the tobacco flower, tonka, and vanilla lactonic pieces of the puzzle. I am lucky enough to experience the highly fragrant white flower scent of night-blooming tobacco flowers in my garden. I can't begin to tell how lovely it is to be able to pick up that note here, as i look forward all year for summer so i can see them bloom in the moonlight and smell them from a decent distance, almost like a softer and more airy jasmine. Here, this flower lifts up the earthy, herby and rich chocolatiness, and adds a fresh vibrance to make it smell sophisticated and clean. Every full bodied breakfast tea with these qualities, wouldn't be complete without a splash of half & half(lactones), and for some extra decadence as a dessert tea, adding a dollop of fresh vanilla bean whipped cream(tonka/vanilla) to add some richness and cholesterol, to make it luxurious and decadent. As for the dried fruit note, I've smelled it before. Golden currants and dates become incredibly sugary after drying, and one or both of those is what i smell specifically as the base notes approach. I also have a black loose leaf tea blend that contains dried golden currants, and it reminiscent of it. As it settles, you can smell a lightly spiced resinous wood, perhaps cashmeran or sandalwood. With drying down for a bit, things very slightly powderize, and the most evident notes are the vanilla and tobacco. Apptly named. Major bohemian and gourmond vibes, but make it sophisticated. Now I swear i'm gonna go make a tea blend that will smell really similar to this! So after all of that, praise, here’s the thing, as I say with all otheroakcha perfumes the disappointment is in the very end of the dry down and after it’s been on for a while, you can smell the cheapness and all of the sense start to smell either overly powdery or dirty. Unfortunately, especially with the tobacco scent this can make it even more obvious the luxury in any perfume is in the base notes at the very least so here, that’s what’s lacking. It also smells great put directly on the skin, but once I bought the full bottle, their lies more disappointment and I ended up selling. The sample was truly great though.

Not a good clone but a good smell. I have a sample of tobacco vanille and it’s not close at all. You get a lot of cocoa and tonka beans more than the vanilla and tobacco in the opening. Once it settles down you get more of the vanilla but the tobacco is kinda missing still. The cologne is also kinda weak and stays close to the skin. 6/10 EDIT: After a day of wearing the cologne, I started to get a tobacco scent the more I sprayed the cologne. Lots of people didn't enjoy the smell of the cologne. I mixed the cologne with my JPG elixer and I feel like it worked better with that. I would say that this cologne isn't going to gain a lot of attention with the heavy cocoa and tonka beans with its lower scents of tobacco and its moderate scent of vanilla. It's not an addicting smell for the average person. I would say that it is better than what I first rated it. 7.5/10

I blind ordered this and forgot what it was a clone of. At first I felt it was more masculine and gave it to my husband (who LOVES fragrance and will spray multiple randomly daily). I pulled it back out today and tried a few sprays, and now that it’s fall it just seems to be more to my personal liking! I kept thinking, what is this familiar lovely scent that’s in this fragrance? Smells like childhood, fall, sweet and rich. I finally realized! It smells like fresh, sweet pipe tobacco. I used to buy it for my grandfather (who raised me) as a kid when I had no idea what to get him. I used to open the bags of tobacco and breathe in real deep and just love it! It’s so fall and beautiful.

Torrid Day reminds me of Tobacco Vanille. Yet it improves on it by offering a deeper and sweeter Cacao.I would say this is a Gourmand version of Tobacco Vanille. It is very sweet yet nice. It does tend to sit closer to the skin. Which is fine by me. I may prefer this over Tobacco Vanille. As I am a Gourmand fan. I suggest at least you try it. This scent is also thick. Like Amouage Royal Tobacco is. Tobacco Vanille will be more Aromatic than Torrid Day

I surprisingly like this. I’m not generally a fan of tobacco but it’s not bitter or overpowering here. It has a light, almost honeyed sweetness. It even turns just a bit cloying after 30 minutes, otherwise I would love it. It’s smooth, warm, and comforting. It has a nice scent bubble and lasts about 3 hours.

I find this to be a softer version of TF's Tobacco Vanille. The vanilla and tobacco are very smooth - no screechiness like in some other Oakcha scents. The cocoa note is also more prominent in this.

I got mine from the Oackha Discovery set about a year ago. It came as a little 1mL splasher which I hate, so I put it into a 2mL sample bottle with an atomizer. In the air, I think it smells enough like TF Tobacco Vanille to be a decent representation of it. It's slightly synthetic, but not overly so. For me the part I didn't like was that it was overly sweet. I have that same issue with the real thing, but with the OG there's a richness and depth that isn't present in the Oakcha version. Longevity on my skin was great at over 8 hours, and on clothing it didn't go away until I washed the shirt. Projection is heavy. This one likes to sing loudly as you walk down the halls and tell everybody you're going to be there in a minute or two and left 10 minutes ago. I finally used mine up after almost a year of having it, and I have no desire to replace it with the larger bottle. The scent itself isn't bad, it's just not for me. I like other tobacco scents a lot more, and this is just cloyingly sweet and way too loud for me.

I received this in my Oakcha Discovery Set. This opens with a fresher tobacco-type scent (think like tobacco leaves), then as it dries down, the smokier type of tobacco + vanilla and tonka bean come out. I get moderate longevity (~3 hours on skin) and intimate sillage (it is an oil-based parfum). I would definitely consider this more of a winter scent since it does have a smokey/sweet aspect. This perfume was an odd try for me, as I liked the scent, but the scent is not something *I* want to smell like. I'm not sure if it is because this scent is more masculine or because it was too smoky, but this is not something I would purchase.

This stuff is WAYYY stronger than the original. Super strong tobacco scent, and lots of peppery spice. Actually makes me sneezy after spraying. But the sweetness of the vanilla levels out the fragrance. Give yourself a hour before entering rooms with small children or animals because this stuff is potent.

There are parts of this perfume I like, but there's this sharp, sickly, cloying sweet note that reminds me SO STRONGLY of when it's past time to deep clean my cat's litterbox and the litter is no longer really clumping. I'm not sure if this is the cocoa or some spice or the overall combination. No one that I invited to smell it on me said anything like this, so it's possible that I'm the only person who would make this connection. Nevertheless, what I'm dubbing the "stale litter" aura makes this a NO for me. If it wasn't for this note, I would like this fine. The scent profile is a bit too gourmand/candle-y for it to be something I'd reach for, but in theory this should be fine on other people. I found the sillage to be intimate but I was impressed with the longevity--I can still smell a trace of it after almost 12 hours. Unfortunately, the "stale litter" note did not fade and remained present through the entire character of the perfume. Truly a bizarre experience, I wonder if other people can smell this or there was something wrong with the sample I received.

Smells of tobacco but also is REALLY sickly sweet. Not my favorite scent out there and I couldn’t take wearing it for more than a few hours. Translates to a fall and winter scent.

This is a HUGE let down. It is being advertised as somehow like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. NOPE. It is very strong, heavy, masculine and smells like one of those cheap men’s body sprays. I smell melon (a La CK One) as the only Gourmande note. No vanilla. No tobacco. Just a bit of melon masking an overbearingly masculine cheap cologne. But, if you like that sort of thing, it does have longevity and silage to spare...for over 24 hours.

SKIN TEST UPDATE: it’s been about 4 hours and this has become a subtle prune & tobacco skin scent. I like it, but I don’t love the skin dry down takes me. I’m not over or underwhelmed. I’m just whelmed tbh. I am, and always will be, a warm/spicy olfactory girlie! On paper this is an anise /licorice heavy fragrance with a blend of light (diet , if you will) tobacco. It’s certainly unisex in that it’s sweetened by not entirely sweet like a pastry. I particularly appreciate that given the current and explosive gourmand trend right now. I think this combined with a black turtleneck sweater would be ideal on rainy autumn nights or fall and winter across the board. Torrid Day is a reasonably faithful interpretation of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille. From my experience with both brands, before even doing a skin test for TD, I bet my bottom dollar that the latter will have better longevity. I look forward to doing a proper skin test & reporting my thoughts!
