Malfa Walls

This is absolutely fantastic, and an immediate buy. By the description and the box you'd think that is a freshie easy citrus, and you couldn't be more wrong. The first thing that comes in my mind while smelling it is soot - there's a lot of it. Not smoked sausage, not burning coal. Something in-between chimney soot and a burned down wooden house. If you know Creed's Royal Oud (Julien made that one, too) and can understand what I mean by saying that it has a soot note? Here it's way stronger and more pronounced. Cade, black leather, oud, frankincense - but not enough to make it church-like. Incredibly clean black note - it's somewhat transparent with zero animalic tones that I can find. Under that base-y soot you get the aromatics. There's sage, thyme, but not enough to make it medicinal and still, that's UNDER it. the fruity tones - this isn't really a citrus, the citrus only give an initial lift and complexity to the top accord of the perfume. The fruity tones - hard to tell. I don't think there's smoked black currants out there - there's smoked plums in my part of Europe, but it doesn't smell like plums at all. Nevertheless, the fruitiness is somewhat purple and definitely reminding me of black currants. Im so, so happy that this doesn't smell synthetic, or tropical. So sick of yet another mango/passionfruit oud synthetic bombs, and then comparing everything to those. Himalayan Spell gets compared to F Fabulous and Tuscan Leather only because of the people looking at notes, not smelling those and luckily, because there's no passionfruit in the notes, none of the schmucks say it's Oud Maracuja. Imagine the 'soot' part of the Royal Oud. Take it out, amplify it a lot. Add thyme, add black currants. Done. Of course, there's more to it, but I think it's close enough to have a good idea of what you're going to get while testing. I can't tell what's the performance yet, but I tested it twice on my skin and it felt like it's gonna be good. I tested it on paper around 8PM, walked in the room 6AM and the room was full of herbal soot, so at least on paper it's beastly. It wears somewhat French in character - what I mean by that is this is airy, transparent - not dense, musky, heavy. Even though it's a touch fruity, aromatic, and citrus I can't imagine wearing this above 10-15C. Absolute unisex, although it suit me more than it does my wife. Greatly priced - Royal Oud is almost double, with less performance. I understand what some of you mean by Interlude. Good guess, but these aren't the same. They're close in character. Someone mentioned Aqua Memorabilis - I have both in front of me. Nothing similar, couldn't be more far apart. @edit 5ml gone already - I’m so surprised how well this holds. One spray on my hand and 12h later I can still smell it in the air when I move my hand.

Dark leather note, aromatic and herby oud (but not your normal suffocating kind) paired with slight underlying citruses. The fragrance really opens up hours in when that heaviness dissipates and you are left with a soft smokey, a bit ambery crème de cassis. Sexy, mature, unisex leaning just a tad masculine but ladies will find it easier to wear. Absolutely blew me away with just two sprays and for the fact how it surrounded me and kept creeping up my nose without making me feel nauseous; filled my entire room up, felt aromatherapeutic. Its really worth the price for the juice. Rating: 9/10; Quick edit: Been wearing it since 10AM, it's almost 2AM right now and its still noticeable.

A spicy, smoky leather fragrance with aromatic undertones that feels rugged, yet attractive. Malfa Walls opens up with juicy, tart citruses and slight fruitiness. The citruses dissipate fairly quickly, giving way to aromatic herbs lifted by frankincense. Immediately a dark leather accord can be perceived, supported by smoky-resinous woods and a touch of juniper in the base. The resulting smell is dry and almost rough around the edges, which is pleasurable and not over the top. A memorable fragrance full of contrasts.

A leather/oud scent with a little fruit twist which makes the perfume wearable during the day. At first the leather is strong then as it starts to drydown the blackcurrant and orange will be more noticable. For me this perfume is very similar to Goldfield&Banks- Silky wood. Love it!

Sooo good obviously this is for oud/leather lovers easy to wear so is friendly for beginners as well

Interesting fresh opening with slightly sour and juicy citruses and a touch of aromatic herbs, but you definitely will feel the dark leathery aspect of this fragrance from the first spray. This is a dry leather with the strong woody undertones - quite a refined oud wood note. For me it’s definitely a winter/evening scent due to its heavy and dark nature.

suffocating sweet oud bomb. Wrote something a bit nicer previously but I wore my sample for the first time today and I wish I skipped it. Girlfriend later told me she hated it too haha. There are some nice aromatic pine-like herbal notes beneath the sweet, synthetic, smoky oud and leather ones, but not enough to rescue this from its true character. Over half of reviews here praise it for....being long lasting and powerful? That should be a hint at what you're getting. Being so “beastmode” inevitably comes with downsides. Its base aroma makes my brain go fuzzy and dull by association with a hundred other oud-y, fruity, sweet aromas I’ve smelled elsewhere. It would be lost on a shelf of things at the middle eastern perfume shop near me. That's not even counting the sweetened western ouds out there. Yes- there are many that smell like this, and that's because these materials just work and do what they promise- last and project all day. They're put in everything to varying degrees, and that's also why they will remind you of multiple things all at once, and after 7 hours or so they will be the only thing you'll smell. That's where I feel the creative brief was not really well-established here outside of being what the market wants- big, bulbous perfumes. They hired Julien Rasquinet- popular perfumer currently and lover of middle eastern styles- to craft something for what I would describe as an affordable niche brand. So they got an approachable, kinda boring leather and oud fragrance in line with today's styles. (haven't tried the Frida one). So that's great for them? It's probably what a lot of people will enjoy. Idk. I like Himalayan Spell a bit more, but they're both kind of derivative.

Heavy on the leather, which I despise. Smells like cold incense smoke. At first offensive, then fades into simply unpleasant.

Like the fragrance, hate the bottle.
