Fée du Lilas

At this point I think I can just blind buy from Odette and stop spending my money on samples. This is beautiful, show-stopping, completely made for me. What a lovely way to honor Odette’s sister, the lilac fairy! I am sorry for her loss <3

fee du lilas is nothing like what i expected! i get a burst of dewy lilac for about a minute upon spraying, and then it transforms into a kind of creamy, sunscreen-y scent - i'm going to attribute that to the mirabelle and tiare, i suppose. after a little while, it becomes more full-on creamy and less sunscreen-y and i get whiffs of the lilac here and there when i actively sniff my wrist. this also reminds me a lot of fantome's olwyn, but not as heavy and better for summer. i wish the lilac was much more prominent throughout and didn't just reappear every now and then! ETA: layering with pacifica french lilac is giving me the exact experience i desired! just wish it was all in one fragrance :)

Maybe I’m a little insane here, but I pick up VERY little lilac from initial spray, even as the heart notes settle down into the skin. I feel like this is a very solar, white floral forward perfume - and had I been blindfolded and not shown the notes, I might have labeled as jasmine, solar notes, and an almost sunscreen like warmth. As it settles there’s a waxy sort of sweetness, and I think it’s overall a lovely scent. The notes are just a bit misleading to my own nose, even if this is a lovely and well crafted scent. The bright side is that I was worried this scent would be too sweet and heavy for the summer - but it actually would work quite well for a beachy scent!

This is pretty and feminine but it’s not quite true lilac. It’s more of a purple-ish floral that veers sweet and sugary rather soon after the first spritz. I like it a lot but I would not have necessarily guessed lilac if I’d smelled it blind. Definitely worth a sample though 💜✨

A lovely sweet lilac and tiare flower scent. It’s soft. A great layering scent over say a vanilla lotion. I get what the other reviews are saying about a sunscreen scent. I’d say because of the tiare flower it has a slight tropical scent instead.

Soft, pretty, floral- like every other thing she does, a nice blind buy. A good tribute to her sister, lost to violence.

I wanted to LOVE this so much! I love the scent of lilacs and I love the inspiration behind the creation of the scent. But sadly, it falls flat for me. The tiare flower overpowers everything and that's all that I smell. This is just your boring typical tropical scent that has been done a million times. BUT I can make it work when I layer Pacifica French Lilac over this. By adding that I can at least get a sense of lilac. It is also super fleeting of a scent. I was so excited about this house initially and was fawning all over Pas be Chat. But alas, I am even growing out of that. The last time that I wore it, I found it too sweet and cloying. Oh well - time to move on.

This is teeth achingly sweet. Two lumps of white sugar with frosting on top. Very little lilac. Good dose of synthetic vanilla and a synthetic “tropical floral” note, with a light non-descript fruity touch. Has an ozonic quality to it but over all a sugar and vanillin b*mb.

Wow, wow, wow, wow. Okay, my lilac obsession is not going away anytime soon. The lilac makes itself known from the get-go, pronounced by the woody and balmy faucets (not too harsh and certainly not too much cedar which I was worried about). It’s a fresh lilac but you can smell the sugar crystals and vanilla-the finishing touches on an expensive dessert. As it settles on the skin, it starts to get airier: the meringue jumps into the fray and starts to get milky. It’s a floral milk with such a light, flirty body (not too heavy like how I feel Orchid Milk from Commodity is personally)-I never knew I would love a tiare milk fantasy note until now. I can see the dream-like qualities that Odette was trying to invoke in this: sweet, light, fleeting. I may be partial to the story (and my yearning for a sugared lilac scent) but I am so glad I bought a travel size of this. I will continue to test the longevity of this but I may very well need a large full bottle... I am just absolutely floored time and time again how Odette can make such fantastic floral gourmands.

Surprisingly there is a noticeable tropical solar floral quality here that I think comes from the tiare note. I don't get much meringue or gourmand essences from my sample of this, just a general sweetness along with the lilac. I love lilac as it's such an ethereal floral but I don't find it the main star of the show here. Overall I would describe this as an inoffensive pretty lilac perfume, light, delicate and sweet, with a distinct sunscreen vibe.

I find that the tiare flower is far stronger than the lilac in this perfume, and it leans more sunscreeny than I personally prefer. It's quite light, too–it's gone from my skin within a few hours. You can't beat the good cause this supports, so if you like a feminine floral vibe, it's worth sampling.

I love this so much. For years I have been searching for a fragrance that gives the feeling of long discontinued Creme Bouquet by Stila. This is close. Beautiful dewy lilac with a sweet touch. Makes me smile.
