Reine des Cygnes

I found Reine des Cygnes stunning the first moment I put it on. Soft, warm, and deeply intimate — like velvet seats in an empty theatre after the lights go down. The actress and ballet fan in me adores the storytelling behind it. It’s sensual without being loud, fluffy without being sweet. To me, it has the same base dna as Pas de Chat, without the fuzziness (which I do love in Pas de Chat) but is more elegant-sensual than cozy-warm like PdC is.

as a ballerina of 14 years i can safely say this perfume captured what it intended to. i'm not sure how or what exactly is making me feel the way i do, but this perfume smells just like a recital. i wouldn't say it's woody at all, it's quite sweet and velvety. i could smell woods if i put my nose up close to it, but to me it smells more like vanilla and cream, pointe shoes and rosin. if you're looking for a woody fragrance, this not it. i've never smelled anything like this perfume and i'm excited to wear it around. it's very sweet and dense, but fluffy at the same time. longevity: 4-6 hours rating: 4.5/5

The coriander opening is quite spicy but after it passes there is a lovely scent comprised of the satin, vanilla, musk, velvet notes. I used to do ballet as a child and it does actually remind me of the rosin box and old velvet theatre chairs.

warm woody vanilla, face powder, the velvet curtains of an opera house stage.... i was worried this would be too musky for me but it’s not at all! it’s actually sweeter than i expected. it’s like the scent bubble around me is very vanilla and cream, but when i smell my wrist i get more of that woodiness, and maybe even a little of that velvety curtain ? definitely evokes the feeling of standing backstage, about to walk on to perform! this perfume is to honor ballerina Gillian Murphy but honestly i was mostly interested as an opera fan. it’s a pretty unique scent and i like it more than i expected to
