Puro Fico

i bought it today, the guy in the shop spryed a couple of shots at me as an added bonus. Walked around in my wonderful fig aura. Some girl didn't like this stuff, but i don't care. i'm pretty much impressed with the scent and i feel confident with it. can't wait to try some other product in the same line. 2015 edit: this is the first fragrance i bought in my niche adventure, i have 200 bottles but when it comes to fig fragrances, this is still what i reach for. forget those others suckers. my review refers to the 2012 bottle. now the bottle has changed and comes bigger and cheaper (??) so don't blame me for the outcome. i know nothing about the new bottle. i tried all the stuff from the original line, and i think you must be an experienced nose to appreciate those frags.

Absolutely nice! A plain simple and minimal fragrance, without being 'poor' or spoiled at all!, on the contrary: it has a remarkable and fine personality. It seems really to smell figs! Not only the fruit, but even the tree leaves and something more. Different from other well known fragrances on the same theme (very beautiful for sure!, such as Philosykos, or l'Artisan P.'s Premier Figuier) Here a delicate creamy touch of almond and coconut mark some differences. Thanks to its high concentration it's a perfume with a wonderful persistence on the skin (without being bold or bad mannered!) even with a hot weather, not so many frags do the same when the barometer indicates more than 35°. Nice sillage also.

Very fresh, green, leafy. Basically Philosykos but a bit more mossy. I layer it with Figue Sauvage and Cocco alla Vaniglia because I like it to be more creamy and sweeter. It’s too tangy and masculin for my taste. Layered with Milks Note it is also nice. The coconut in itself is hardly existent. The fig is in the background. I don’t get almond. This is my second bottle. I got an earlier batch that was sweeter, more gourmand. I liked that better. I got complimented with that all the time. This bottle, not so much.

Totally in love with it from the first time. Fresh, sweet, intense, different. Best fig I've ever trid. And people seem to love it too ;-)

I like all good fig scents and so it comes as no surprise that I like Puro Fico as well; after all, as others on this page have mentioned, it really is quite similar to many others in this genre. It's true to its name: a ripe sweet fig accompanied by the warm, aromatic, living wood of the tree, mellow and slightly creamy - it's a familiar concept, and for good reason! Very summery without being fresh, sunshine in a bottle. Still, I'm not rushing to put it on my wish list, which I usually do as soon as I smell a good fig note even though I already have about a hundred of variations on that theme in my (decant) collection. The reason for that, and maybe for the lack of reviews here, is that very same familiarity; it doesn't bring anything unique to the table, and it's not quite as good as, say, Premier Figuier Extrême or L'Arbre De La Connaissance, two fragrances it reminds me of with its warm woody take on the fig tree theme. Don't get me wrong, it's a good scent, and it has a better price/quality ratio than its more famous cousins - if this was the first fig scent I ever smelled, I definitely would have been running to the store right about now. But as a blasé as I am, I'm going to leave it at sampling.

I blind bought this. Potentially one of the most expensive blind buys I've ever done — but there was no way to get a decant or sample of this fragrance in the U.S. I love fig and have many fig fragrances, and from what information I could gather on this one, I thought perhaps Pure Fico could be a slightly different twist on the typical fig fare. So I took a risk and ordered this from Italy. I waited for over a month for it to arrive. And now that I have it, here's how I feel about it: It's nice. I'll enjoy it. But if I had been able to sample this first, I wouldn't have purchased it. Pure Fico is not very different from the other green-leaning, slightly woody fig fragrances more easily attainable here in the U.S. If you already own something along the lines of Diptyque's Philosykos or L'artisan Figuier, then you really don't need Pure Fico. It's very, very similar to those. Something about the description made me think this would be a little fruitier — something more like a ripe fig than a firm green one. It's not. There are some very slight differences, I suppose. Pure Fico is a little creamier, and ever so slightly woodier. It has better longevity than the L'artisan offering, about the same as the Diptyque EDP. It's not unpleasant; I do like green fig fragrances. I was just hoping for something more unique here. I'll probably swap this.

Puro Fico by Officina delle Essenze smells exactly the way that Sandrina described it: "... in the shade of fig tree..." The perfume is intense (perfume concentation), smells like fig and green notes, but is milky and slightly warm at the same time. I can picture a woman on a mediterranean beach, she is sitting in the shade of fig trees, she wears sunglasses and a straw hat, or maybe she has wrapped a linen or cotton scarf around her head, she reads a book and enjoys the green, slightly sweet and warm scent and its milky accords which really are reminiscent of "sunkissed skin". Perfect. Some may think of Womanity when they read "fig", "mediterranean", "skin", etc. but I can assure those who are not too fond of Womanity that Puro Fico does not even remotely resemble Womanity. Puro Fico is rather sophisticated (but not an evening fragrance) and stylish and not an attention-seeker. Let me put it this way: Womanity was endorsed Lady Gaga on TV; Puro Fico would be gorgeous on Lana del Rey.
