Forgiven Outrage

I own a few ojar frags, and this is quickly becoming a fall favorite. I intended on getting the parfum version but got the absolute instead (I wasn't paying attention to the buttons I was pressing). A very approachable, still unique, frankincense fragrance. Lightly smoky, a little bright and uplifting with depth. I think the cypriol does most of the heavy lifting in this with everything else being a supporting actor next to the frankincense. The performance could be better but it's worth rolling on again in the middle of the day.

Ojar is an Oman brand that produces a wide range of fragrances in Middle Eastern perfume oil tradition and in eau de parfum concentration with alcohol and water. The materials are delivered by the Swiss aroma giant Givaudan and the parfumes are manufactured in France. There is no perfumer mentioned. In a high end perfume store I was pointed by the friendly store owner on the intriguing display. I asked for an incense based perfume. I wasn't impressed with the first offerings but then I smelled Forgiven Outrage and was struck by a very elegant creamy flowery opening and a lush scent profile. Sandalwood! I just love that raw material that captivates if it's blended well in a perfume. This is a very elegant non medicinal almost fruity sandalwood perfume with a subtle incense and a soft spicy amber structure. There is a concentrated atar, oil, version that is rather expensive. I fell for the 15 ml eau de parfum version that is rather affordable and projects better. The long glass tube bottle with a sprayer can be slided into an plastic bottle holder and click connected in to a other version so you can layer it with the other Ojar offerings. But this one is excellent as a stand alone fragrance. On my skin it lasts long, more than 12 hours. The incense is subtle in the pretty creamy dry down. I love this perfume that reminds me off H&M Santalum. Another creamy sandalwood oil based beauty made by the late Olivier Pescheux.
