Black Tie

For me isn't exactly a black tie, is more a wool business suit, maybe dark grey over which you put a nude suede busines trenchcoat. It is a powdery chypre, earthy, which grows in white flowers, very vibrant and beautiful, very powerful and charming. It can be an unisex easily, I'm a little disturbed by the honeysuckle because at some point it make it sweater than I would prefer, at least on me, but it swings back pretty quickly. The rose is ok, a garden one and anyway the white flower put it lightly in the shade, so you need to be very careful to observe it. The finish is earthy, slightly powdery, elegant.

I have an EDT version and it is just gorgeous shypre with a vintage feel. Reminds me of Apercu by Houbigant. Great sillage without being overwhelming. Will definitely appeal to the fans of old school classics. If you see it for a decent price-grab it!

Fragrance Review For Black Tie By Oleg Cassini Top Notes: Bergamot Osmanthus Lily of the Valley Apple Blossom Middle Notes: Rose Honeysuckle Jasmine Gardenia Base Notes: Vanilla Oakmoss Patchouli Musk I have the eau de parfum spray. With a name like Black Tie I thought this would be formal to wear for black tie affairs! Dinners, galas, weddings, award ceremonies, formal evening events like that. I don't usually wear actual black ties and when I do it's for fun. I thought this would be a unisex chypre but it's totally a feminine chypre. Beautiful! At the first spritz of Black Tie, I was bombarded with green notes. This is probably coming from the patchouli in the base (patchouli leaves) the green floral lily of the valley and the honeysuckle plus the oak moss. Very green scent. Beautifully green and floral. The apple blossom (apple) gives it a sweetness and doesn't make the greenness unbearable. It's sweet. There's also rose very perfumy rose. The rose scent lingers and evokes a single rose on a white linen table, very classy at a dinner party, like someone has seen me from across another table at the same party and left me a rose with a secret message to meet him after the party. It's very romantic. And it's clearly a red rose. I love the rose in this fragrance. There's also a white gardenia, also very noticeable. The floral scents are very nice, but this is not just a floral scent. It becomes woody, mossy, very pronounced woodsy notes and oak moss. The oak moss gives this scent the blackness of night. It's totally a cologne to wear at night - with your black tie or black dress. You get it. Just a glamorous fragrance that matches up with whatever you wear that you feel is glam. Elegant, very old fashioned but that's why I love it. Wearing this to a wedding.
