La Colonia

La Colonia is just lovely...a traditional "cologne" heavy on the bergamot with a touch of garden herbs...the dill in this adds some spark to the energizing component of bergamot...I don't get the ozone or green pepper notes others have mentioned...and I get no florals...crisp and light citrus with a twist...

I've never had good relationship with citrus fragrances, but I've found La Colonia is a very likeable and charming perfume. La Colonia could be a classic citrus cologne but it has a kind of green edge and this element makes this scent unique enough to attract my attention. La Colonia like a vision of the mediterranean landscape, wiew of a lush garden what is lies on the coast of the azure blue Mediterranean Sea. Morning dew on the feets and fresh marine breeze on the face,warm sunshine and smell of herbs-and flowers in the garden.Just like to take a walk in the morning grove, touching the green leaves with fingertips and just enjoy the moment of the fresh dawn and the warmth of the first sunbeams. La Colonia has the classic Italian features but the bright citrus overture dimensioned by soft green tones, that gives an elegant vibe to the fragrance. In the heart the flowers are develop beautifully on the warm woody base,this blend merges with herbal elements- becomes to a multi-dimensional green-citrus perfume with a floral heart. I've had very good experience to wear La Colonia,it has enough projection and longevity. No doubt, this cologne will go to my collection,and I'll probably take with me to the following holidays.

"La Colonia" is a slightly weird cologne type fragrance. I was first rather scared to put on something supposed to smell like dill and green pepper, but it turned out to be rather ok. The dill is there, but you can't really say that it's dill without reading it first, because mainly it smells like a very aromatic citrus cologne, but the aromatic part is something you haven't maybe tried before. Therefore I find this rather interesting. The ozone also adds a breezy fresh feeling. I find "La Colonia" to be purely masculine as it has the barber shop quality that must come from ozone and very watery flower sweetness (jasmine mostly). The green pepper adds to the weird aromatic part. I don't think "La Colonia" is a bad or overly extravagant perfume, it smells very nice actually. The downside though is that it was almost completely gone in 4 hours.

Jul 22: opened 18 months ago: vegetal elements have about disappeared. strength has somewhat diminished leaving a sparkling citrus fizz. the mood remains within the "signature" of early oliver & co. reminding of veteverus. Feb 21: initial: if you run out of celery and spice mix for your bloody mary, keep a bottle on hand. not quite a gazpacho, but darn close

minty, citrus and herbal in the top; the green pepper takes the show with the bergamot vying for attention and the grassy supporting role

yes, age has reduced the raw vegetable aspects leaving a perfect for higher temperatures citrus cloud.

92)moi qui n'aime pas l'eau de Cologne ou les parfums citronnés je suis agréablement surpris par cette...cologna. La première impression est celle d'éléments naturels de qualité ( ou chimique de très très bonne qualité :). Le citron de tête évolue vite vers l'aromatique, avec du cèdre et une note très originale que je pensais être de la tomate verte mais qui est indiqué comme étant du poivron vert, et le iodé marin. Le santal est comme toujours la meilleure base pour donner de la présence et accentuer les notes aériennes. On retrouve ce même santal dans d'autres parfums de la gamme, comme Mousse ou il donne encore mieux (avec le clou de girofle) ce même effet de grand espace aéré ou vous respirez les senteurs à plein poumon. Joli mais cette odeur de Méditerranée enchanteresse c'est un peu le parfum de base déjà-vu de toutes les marques italiennes (je sais celle-ci est espagnole). qualité-longévité me who don't like cologne or citrus scents I am pleasantly surprised by this ... cologna. The first impression is the quality components :). Lemon head moves quickly towards the aromatic and with a very original note that I thought was the green tomato but describe as green pepper and iodized marine. Sandalwood is as always the best basis to give presence and accentuate the ethereal notes. We find the same sandalwood in other perfumes of this brand, as MOUSSE where it gives even better (with cloves) this same effect of large airy space where you breathe the scent full lung. Very nice but the smell of this enchanting Mediterranean is a bit the basic deja vu perfume of all Italian brands. quality+longevity

Another head-numbingly tiresome by-the-number Niche green scent. A total left field bore, the creator of this scent obviously never attempted to contemplate to appealing to the general crowd and simply never will. The floral is nice along with sandalwoods but there are one-a-thousand better options in Niche that do greens much more towards an engaging perfume experience as a whole as well offering usual bright citrus top notes for balance and more mass appeal plus a host of other items to create lasting interest. So once the novelty value (not much of it) wears off from this $140 investment (for sake of not sampling); one will realize that cress/spinachy leaves and salty green peppers are most probably best left for completing a beautiful seaside prawn/crayfish sandwich rather than mixed with a base of aromachemicals to compliment a sun-factor body kit. Wearable art forms are all fine but many will simply prefer their more usual type of affairs that yield much more satisfaction regardless of price. Whoever decided to think to stray away from the beaten path was a smart idea, is sadly pretty much on her/his own here. Scent: 3/10. Quality: 8/10.

Leans masculine in a big way. Other than the interesting pepper note here, which is quite fresh and almost aquatic, I personally don't really enjoy these kinds of fragrances on myself. On a man, this is a sophisticated and mature version of a typical green/aromatic fresh fragrance. 5/10

اولین تستی که از برند اولیور ان کو داشتم؛ خیلی اتفاقی رخ داد و یادمه که تو اون هوای گرم چقدر لذت بردم از این عطر. سمپل دکانتی بود که روش نوشته شده بود: لا کولونیا و هوا هم گرم بود. بی معطلی دوبار اسپری کردم عطرو و واقعا نفسم بند اومد! چی بود این؟ قبل اینکه به عطر بپردازم؛ باید اشاره کنم که این یه عطر مدرن و شیک، با روحی از کولون های کلاسیکه که واقعا لذتبخشه. قرار نیست یه شاهکار نفس گیر و کهکشانی باشه که چشما رو گرد می کنه؛ اما یه عطر زیباست... شروع عطر واقعا سنگین، پیچیده و مرموزه. یه سبزی فشرده و سرسخت با حسی تلخ و تاریک، فضا رو پر میکنه. اما این تاریکی به مرور با پرتوهایی از ترنج و لیمو درخشان میشه که رو به شفافیت و تازگی میره. همونطور که انتظار میرفت، با قدرت گرفتن تم سیتروسی، تاریکی سبز و عمیق شروع کار، محو میشه و حالا لا کولونیا عطری میشه سیتروسی، تازه و شاداب. این جشن شاد و دوست داشتنی با اضافه شدن تم ادویه ای سرزنده ای از هل و زنجبیل که رگه های محو گیاهی و آبداری همراهیش میکنه به فضای سیتروسی، به اوج خودش میرسه. انرژی و نشاطی که از این لحظه ها حاصل میشه رو نمیشه توصیف کرد. به مرور این جشن ستروسی-اسپایسی سرسبز و تازه در پایه ی آکواتیک آشنایی محو میشه تا عطر در این فضا به پایان برسه. لا کولونیا یه کولون مفرح و خوش ساخته. عطر جدید و یونیکی نیست؛ اما خوش مشرب و دوست داشتنیه. پخش این عطر متوسط و کمی بالاتر از اونه و موندگاری اون بسیار بالا و چیزی حدود هشت ساعت رو پوست هست. کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

very green woody scent, a little bitter on my skin, a very special scent cuz I ́d never smelt any similar scent before, it is definitely for the hot summer, when i read the name, i thought it was just EDT with a common scent of citrus colonia, but it turns out that it is totally different. For me, it is not my type, cuz literally I dont like the citrus scent unless it smells sweet and tasty, but I can tell that many european people would definitely like this scent. I dont know if it was because i was too close to my skin that the opening was quite strong to me and my nose was a little uncomfortable. But later it turned to a soft powdery woody scent also with a marine salty scent. It is dry, fresh, salty but the clean salty not the dirty sweaty salty.

With some exceptions made from extremely classic fragrances playing the EDC-theme, I'm generally not big on these type of compositions but Oliver & Co La Colonia is indeed a nice take on the main theme. The typical citrus / white florals combo is joined here by green-herbal nuances and supported by a smooth woody base while a *well restrained* aquatic note provides a subtle yet remarkable modern vibe. Probably not earthshaking but nonetheless funny and likable. Very nice. Rating: 7/10

It is beyond me why one would want to pay $3 per ml to smell like dill, green pepper, and ozone. O&C La Colonia is nicely crafted and very distinctive but I would describe this as a curiosity, not something to wear. A bit like Andy Warhol's art: once you get past the "huh!" what is left?

@jeffwithfrags You seem to want niche to be more generic, or at least more generic than this. What would be the point of niche then?
