Citrine

For me this smells bitter and has a waxy resinous quality to it that stands on a fine wire as to whether or not i think it smells good. not so sure. But despite the fact that i an unsure about the smell I like it anyway! I wore it on a day that i had many fears to face that i had been shy ing away from and i did feel a sense of empowerment that i attribute to this effects of this perfume soo its like regardless of the actual smell i will be wearing this full force on days needed

#1502 in my "Tour de fragrance" Women who smell of beeswax, at least in "B" movies, mean nothing good for the men they attract. The Wasp Woman (1959), is a Roger Corman classic (if any Roger Corman film can be called "classic"), wherein a woman who is the CEO of a cosmetics company takes a youth serum made from wasp enzymes and begins transforming into a murderous wasp-woman. In a 1964 episode of "The Outer Limits", "Zzzzzz", the queen of an intelligent beehive takes human form. In "Invasion of the Bee Girls" (1973), female scientists use a radiation-mutated bee serum to create a race of women who seduce and kill men. Yeah, I watch a lot of bad sci-fi for the sheer comedy. This is my seventh go with an Olivier Durbano scent. Five have been outstanding. This, as with "Heliotrope", is a nice note combination, but it lacks potency. An almost undetectable feminine-leaning fragrance that comes off like some left over scent on a blouse she wore last week. No projection at all, and you really have to put nose to skin to smell it. It's a scent she'd have to overspray and spray clothing to get noticed and probably won't make it to lunch. $240 is a lot to spend for something that's strictly intimate wear, though I for one would love for a woman's skin to smell like this with just hints of citrus, beeswax and incense. Not for me, but I may end up gifting this to someone.

لیمویی رنگ، عنوان این عطر هست که از سنگ گرانبهای سیتراین الهام گرفته شده. سنگی که نماد قدرت، آرامش، تعقل، امید و خرد هست و این عطر هم به زیبایی در فضاهایی چالش انگیز اما آرام حرکت میکنه. چالشهایی که ذهنمو درگیر خودشون کرد و درحالیکه غرق یه خلسه ی پاییزی زیبا بودم تو ذهنم مشغول مرور کردن خاطرات مختلفی بودم که این رایحه رو در اونا جستجو میکردم. کجا بود؟ کِی؟ و ... اما اینا همه در قلب کار با ورود به فضای یکی از عطرای محبوب این دوران که به طرز عجیبی متنفرم ازش؛ منو دلخور کرد و در حالی که خلسه ی نوستالژیک سیتراین میتونست یکی از بهترین عطرای پاییزی رو بهم معرفی کنه؛ این بوی زعفرون و جیر کمی ملس؛ بدجور خشم و دلخوریم رو به همراه داشت... سیتراین در فضای سیتروسی درخشان و شفافی باز میشه که رایحه ی غالب اون عطر لیمو هست که با لامی عمیق و متین شده و با فلفل و زنجبیل؛ ترد، خاکی و کمی تند شده. این فضای زیبا و دلچسب مثل بازگشت به گذشته های دور و پر از خاطره در یه ظهر پاییزیه که تو کوچه باغها و زیر تابش دل انگیز خورشید مهربون پاییز؛ مشغول ماجراجویی هستم اما درست مثل شکافها و اختلالاتی که در رویابافیهای اینسپشن رخ میده و باعث میشه رؤیا از هم بپاشه؛ قدرت گرفتن یه رایحه ی آشنا، سینتیک و ناخوشایند، یادم میاره که در سال 2016 هستیم و در عصری هستیم که جیر حال بهم زنِ تمشک مالی شده یِ زعفرونی؛ چه غوغایی در دنیای عطر بپا کرده و اینجا هم اثری از وجود منحوسش به مشام میرسه که باعث شد تمام رؤیاها و اون خلسه ی دلچسب از بین بره. اگرچه در ادامه گایاک دودی و نرم و فضای اسپایسی تلاش میکنن تا این فضا رو به حاشیه برونن اما همه چیز از دست رفته و سیتراین در فضایی دودی، چوبی، صمغی و کمی ترد و سیتروسی به نمایش خودش ادامه میده که همچنان فضا تحت تأثیر حالت جیر-زعفرانی موم قرار داره که با بوی ملس مرکبات؛ به سمت و سوئی رفته که نباید! سیتراین عطر خوب و خوش ساختیه که نتونست رضایتمو جلب کنه اما در اینکه خیلیا عاشقش میشن؛ هیچ تردیدی وجود نداره. یه کار صمغی-دودی و سیتروسی در بستری اسپایسی-چوبی که تاجی از موم در هیبتی جیر-زعفرانی بر سرنهاده که... بگذریم؛ این سنگ لیمویی رنگ بخوبی حسی از اعتمادبنفس، قدرت، آرامش و امید رو بدست میده و درخشش عمیق و نابی داره که حسی از شکوه آثار کلاسیک رو در خودش داره ولی افسوس و هزار افسوس که اون نگاه رِندانه ی مدرنش؛ کارو خراب کرد. پخش و موندگاری این عطر متوسط رو به بالاست و می تونید حدود 5 ساعت از همراهی این عطر دوربانو لذت ببرید. کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

For once, the note list describes the scent very well! I certainly get hit with a strong block of good-quality beeswax full of honey at the start, but it does overpower other notes or accords I was looking for. Very little lemons, not much sweetness and no amber either. A pink pepper/citrus combo or woods begins to start just after. Another very noticeable missing note is vanilla, I've always preferred it to elemi (like vanilla but more 'cystalline' less sweet/bold) I always thought it added sweetness and a touch of gourmandy class to any scent. After the opening, gingery-green notes start to appear, with more woods and hints of floral. It's certainly one to try, as it's not your 'safe' standard cologne at all. A huge ambery-vanillic base never happens. Something keeps stinging my nose a bit, as if the pink pepper was in fact 'peppered spices'. Sweetness also fades, leaving me wanting more richness from the amber, but that's never there. The overall effect seems to favour the greens over the amber and pink pepper, slowly pushing me away from this scent after the good start. So, low marks in the end, but that's just my nose of course. 2/5. Scent quality is 4/5.

Considering how pretty much all of the other Durbano's creations range from being uninteresting to simply unpleasant (with the exception of Black Tourmaline) I was ready for another disappoinment but, Citrine smells good. It opens with spicy-peppery notes joined by a huge amount of fizzy citruses. A remarkable resinous undertone is immediately detectable and opens the door to a consistent rosewood note that, IMO, is the true star of this composition. The myrrh, together with other woods get more prominent while slight flowery patterns add refinements and some complexity. In this phase Citrine is not very distant from an hypothetical mash-up between Keiko Mecheri's Olibanum and Comme Des Garcons Palisander. Amber remarks its presence with a tad of sweetness, while hints of citruses provide sparkling undertones throughout. Good stuff. Rating: 8/10
