Olivier Durbano's perfumes are imbued with spirituality and symbolism, so that they can affect not only the body but also the soul. Quartz Quantic is Olivier's 17th fragrant prayer, which debuted on 8th of December 2021. The fragrance is based around a soft and gentle Damask rose, a metaphorical representation of Virgin Mary. It is a gentle yet important ingredient, softening the resinous character of the olibanum essence and the Scottish pine needle leaf. This is complemented by the clean, succulent bergamot in the opening, which makes the fragrance more lively and airy. The initial cooling freshness is partially retained, but over time it transforms into a mysteriously spicy fragrance, with a background of olibanum resin smoke slowly infusing the skin, achieving a long-lasting, soul-invigorating sensation. The floral notes are almost transparent, the citrusy touches work well with the softness of the resins, all imagined on a creamy balsamic base. First things first, a perfect 10 from me, just amazing. It has a hard to describe smell, a softer incense on a pine needle bed covered with flowers. If I can just somewhat relate, reminds me a bit of Amouage Dia Man and the discontinued Amouage Silver, but it's just about the vibe. And no it doesn't smell like Mugler Cologne or AdP Essenza as voted above. Could be a tad bit heavy for summer days but other than that it's a perfectly balanced year-round scent. Pure quality

#1579 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I got this as a decant from scentsplit.com for $4.99. A 100ml bottle will set you back $240. So of course get a decant to try before you buy. But I do think this is a lovely fragrance, something Durbano seems to create with consistency. It actually comes across a lot like Jacques Bogart "One Man Show", one of my all time favorites. Leans a bit more feminine in the amount of rose in use, though it doesn't reach the "grandma juice" level of rose note beyond which no man dare venture. Still, I would feel compelled to offset the florals with some stuffy masculine style, like a J. Press tweed jacket with leather elbow patches. This won't be high on my list for my own use, as I have a number of scents that are close to this, but I may offer a bottle of this to a friend who loved the History Parfums "Spanish Carnation" I gave her for Christmas 2024. This is definitely her style. Moderate but adequate performance. Not likely to offend anyone in any environment. But seriously guys, if you want something like this for your own use, the Jacques Bogart "One Man Show" is only $15.
