Oxley

I have yet to dislike a scent made by this house. I don't normally lean towards white florals, but I've since changed my mind about them since trying Olivine Atelier (before that became the house name). This isn't my favorite of the bunch, but I still find it wearable. Surprisingly, I find this to be more of a woodsy-floral on my skin, even though there isn't anything woodsy in here! The vanilla is less noticeable in here, than it is in "More Than the Stars" and "Full Regalia" (though neither are gourmand to my nose). The woodsy-floral musk lasts a good 30-45 minutes on me before it turns more into a musky gardenia jasmine (with the jasmine still playing a supporting role). During the middle phase, all the way to the dry down, I can see where an indolic jasmine might seem like it's trying to make an appearance, but it never ever gets dirty or "skanky" on me. It's almost like smelling a jasmine lei on someone from afar, but the person never gets close enough to you for it to seem overwhelming. The gardenia actually becomes more "real-smelling" to me the longer I wear this, but also gets softer at the same time (if that makes any sense at all?). I suggest not spraying this heavily. Despite the simple notes, this perfume is so complex. Many other reviewers have noted its similarity to OA's Olivine - they are indeed extremely similar, with Oxley being a bit sweeter. I love both. Also as many reviewers have noted, it starts off with a burst of pretty indolic gardenia and jasmine. To me, the indoles lean more gasoline/chemical than fecal. The intensely indolic phase wears off quickly - I'd say after about 15-30 minutes. The indoles stay there in the background, just enough to add depth and sensuality to the swoon-inducing full bodied white florals. All of this is sweetened and softened by the vanilla, while the signature OA sexy beachy warm musk grounds the whole thing. This vanilla-musk base lends an almost woody quality to the perfume.

just GORGEOUS. Gardenia plus vanilla. This is a bit sweeter, vanilla-esque version Olivine by Olivine (one of the best realistic gardenia's out there). I love this ❤. definitely reminds me of Terracotta by Guerlain.

"There is nothing you can name, that is anything like a Dame!" Since this scent's original name was Dame, it was well-named the first time. I don't know whether to love or hate this fragrance. Oxley (from a sample of the oil) is one of the most indolic Jasmine mixes I've ever smelled. Wowza! To me, Oxley smells at times like a funereal bouquet. Other times like a fresh, strong, lovely Jasmine garland. I don't get it, but there it is, a changeling. Somehow I'm picking up the smell of Lily, not listed as a note. There is a come-n-go sweetness, and at times I get the smell of starting to wilt Gardenias. Oxley is less skanky as it dries down... at this point, I get a softer, just slightly indolic Jasmine with some powder and a pretty musk. The first two hours are a little scary. The dry-down is divine. In my opinion, it takes a bit of courage to wear Oxley. Just can't decide if I need more of it.... maybe my sample vial of oil will do me... when I'm in the mood for a weird but beautiful Jasmine overdose. ;)

Oxley is the more gourmand sister of this house's eponymous fragrance, Olivine. I confess that this makes it more appealing to me than Olivine, because the gardenia note is further tempered by vanilla and a light jasmine, making Oxley less indolic, and thus, more wearable to me, than Olivine. Gardenia is still the focus, however, and for this reason, it's not one I would buy for myself. If you are looking for a soft, very feminine, and lightly gourmand gardenia fragrance, Oxley is definitely worth your while to sample. The oil version, which I am reviewing, has quiet sillage and great longevity. If you want major projection, the EDP version is the way to go.

- This perfume smells like Gardenia with vanilla and jasmine. Straight forward and lovely! I liked it initially but now I'm in love. I've enjoyed every single perfume I've tried from this house. This is an exceptional experience for me. I'm really wowed by this house. Their perfumes display their love of white florals. EDIT I'm still wearing this sample months later (December 2019) and I now LOVE it! It smells like a sweeter Olivine!

i liked this quite a bit at first and then by the time i finished my sample i liked it even more gardenia, light soapy jasmine, tropical breeze scented with exotic flowers, beachy suntan lotion vibes, I’m sure there’s some tuberose but I mostly get the gardenia & Jasmine. there's a trace amount of salty ocean air, which i normally don't mesh with but i love it here 4-5 sprays, medium to strong projection, lasts several hours i can't wait to try more from this house

This is a beautiful, very slightly indolic, creamy jasmine/gardenia. Musky and sweet, it’s lovely! On my skin it has medium protection and longevity.
