Rame

I didn't like this when I first smelled it. I came back to it though and have grown to REALLY like this. This performs very different on skin vs clothing. I like it so much better on clothes. That's when I get that rich cacao and myrrh notes. I'm NOT a BR540 fan and I don't think this smells like that. This is an excellent fall/winter scent and I'm glad I have a partial bottle and a 10 ml decant.

Rame opens with a very realistic dark chocolate. But in about twenty minutes it turns into a very screechy and synthetic chocolate. This time around I don’t really get BR540. Lately I fell out of love with frank gourmands, so this will be leaving my collection. Edit: After reading the review of Vanillastorm40, I decided to give Rame one last chance and try it on clothes. I 100% second the same expedience. While on skin, Rame goes into a screechy, synthetic direction, but on clothes this transformation never happens and it remains the same dark chocolate that Rame opened with. So Rame is dependent on skin chemistry and apparently mine did not mix well with it. I have decided to hold on to my bottle a little longer and see if I will reach for it during upcoming colder months.

I know there’s no coffee in this scent but it reminds me of a high end coffee shop—wooden tables and chairs with fresh pastries in a glass case. The air is thick with newspaper stories and distractingly cute baristas. This perfume is about natural, linear ingredients. There’s a lot to like about Rame by Omnia, but I don’t think it is all that memorable.

I agree with review below that it’s BR 540 with added caramel/chocolate and a sprinkle of salt on top. Not a bad fragrance, but if you are tiered of Baccarat hype then this is not a scent for you. I find that projection and sillage are moderate.

It smells exactly like Baccarat Rouge 540 but with powdered chocolate.

Geez, this is the fourth review in a row where I tried a scent with the ubiquitous and for me, much hated, spiky wood note. I call it Screamwood because it screams like alcohol and hurts my nose. There are a number of chemicals responsible for this note in current perfumery but I'm so tired of it. It's used to amp ambery wood notes and it projects and lasts like mad, but since it smells like burning hair, etc on me, I don't love it. Here, the malted chocolate notes get taken over by that spiky woods too fast for me to really enjoy how lovely they were, and then I can't scrub this off.; Another great sadness for me. Darnit.

At first it smelled like chocolate, not powdered, not syrupy nor dessert chocolate, but a resinous chocolate. The cocoa smells of high quality, not a regular tootsie accord. I have to admit that this does turn into a spectacular scent similar to BR but the peppery Extrait version, with a cocoa twist. It’s rare that I agree with reviews that say a perfume smells like BR, I’m not those type, but I do in this case. Spicy ambery cocoa, omg. It’s perfectly blended and I loved it. Perfect for those who want an alternative to BR.

Baccarat rouge dupe. I hate it.
