Lithium [3Li]

If you're into all rose-saffron genre you might as well give this a try. It reminds me very much of many other fragrances I've tried and I own, so I won't be getting a FB of this, but nevertheless this was an excellent journey. "Lithium" is extremely well done scent, the saffron is almost suffocating and the rose is deadly cold, the patchouli and spices enhance the coldness and dryness of the rose making this incredibly dark and Gothic scent. Musk is extremely clean and almost leatherish and metallic on my skin bringing this to a whole new level of rose-saffron dark scents. Perfectly unisex. It reminds me of many I've tried and owned, but in all honesty if I'd tried "Lithium" before I'd buy this. Perfect price/performance ration. Worth at least a try!!

Lithium [3Li] is a study of contrasts. Perfumer Nicolas Bonneville has taken the sweet and delicate floralcy of rose and juxtaposed it with the harsh qualities of spices (namely saffron and cumin). Lithium is known to be the lightest and least dense of all elemental metals. This in a way is a contradiction, as one typically associates "metal" with strength, force and heaviness. Bonneville uses this incongruity as a stimulus for the origin of his creation. A rather pungent saffron note seems to dominate the opening, which in my opinion was a little off putting initially. It drys down, allowing the beautiful and realistic rose to unfurl itself. The rose is enhanced and not dominated by the spices. It is accompanied (to a much lesser degree) by iris which offers a powdery focus to the scent. Supportive players (cedar, patchouli and musks) offer a warm and earthy base for the rose to rest on. Combining rose with spices in fragrance is nothing groundbreaking, but here it is done with finesse and ease which is worth experiencing. As with other Nu_Be fragrances, Lithium is unisex but seems to have a feminine edge due to its floral theme. (126)

I love this perfume. This is a really, really well made rose-patch combo with a solid dose of sensual woods and musk, spiced with saffron. It is in a similar vein to Voleur de Roses, a thick, marmalade like fragrant rose, dark and sweet. It does not have the very fruity plum note so prominent in VdR, and it is a tad less sweet and less juicy overall. A sort of a scent that makes me think of red velvet and opulent dresses of the Victorian times, or rather ghost stories set during that period. There is something quite addictive to it. I sniff my wrist and I can remember why I love rose note so much, it is so versatile, and Lithium is another scent that proves it. The lasting power and the sillage are both excellent. Recommended to all rose lovers!

This opens with a big cumin note and BO something like body sweet. But after some minutes it calms down and in fact it is pleasant and wearable. Cumin is still present but it smells good. There is also a creamy/powdery sub-sweet note which smells like womens cosmetics, like a cream. It's light and soft, warm weather scent with great versatility. It leans to feminine scents. The notes have a synthetic/futuristic touch, smell nice and blend well together but nothing smells natural. I can get something like saffron, the powdery "rose" is at the background. There is also mild musk, woody notes and patchouli. Performance is moderate overall.

225) What an amazing brand, their creations are really all of a high standard at an affordable price and artistically original. Lithium (as Carbon) is a hot-spicy. It's centered on saffron and very masculine. The description by the creator (N. Bonneville) resumed under the photo of the bottle is perfect. It could have been a Lutens-Sheldrake: the warm wood -cedar and patchouli, and rose and iris brings out the culinary pleasures of saffron but retains a perfect original elegance.

Reminds me of something weaker than Rosendo Mateua N5 and Hermes Galop due to the saffron note.

What's up with the name change? From Nu_Be to One of Those.. That in itself is hilarious! This is the first and most likely the last that I will sample from this house. As mentioned before, the whole rose,saffron,patchouli scent has been done several times before this, most noteable being Tom Ford Noir De Noir. I have no way to compare them side by side but that is the vibe that I am getting. Moderate performance is what I am getting so I guess it's alright and likeable but I don't see myself or many others buying a full bottle as more established houses are offering the same thing basically.

il y a une ressemblance presque complète entre ces trois exemplaires de parfums modernes qui se considèrent comme une tendance qui porte la joie énigmatique du coté sucré! C'est la sucre de la vanille, safran, et musc, qui se mélangent d'une façon ensorcelée avec le bois de santal, gaïac, et le papyrus; une harmonie qui me rappelle d'une type de bonbon qu'on a eu l'habitude de manger beaucoup dans la période d'enfance même d'avant; vraiment cette odeur est une invitation de vivre une "Flash Back" de deux extrémités de mémoire, c'est une alliance entre le conscient et l'inconscient! Ce sont des moments ou on trouve des raisons pour faire appeler l'enfance et le faire exister a des moments présents d'absurdismes et de fantaisies; voilà c'est le cas entre Santal Carmin 2014 Atelier Cologne de "Jérôme Epinette" et Olfactive Studio 2014 de la maison Olfactive Studio "Mylène Alran" et bien sur avec Lithium de maison NU-BE "Nicolas Bonneville". J'adore ces trois chefs d'oeuvres!

A sort of masculine rose, on the darker side, with a bit of a gourmand quality to it. If Mugler released A*Men Turkish Rose and maintained the same smooth quality of Pure Havane, while toning down the gourmand aspect a few degrees, I think it would be something like Lithium. Although it's not listed I get the impression of a soft dark chocolate note floating around, which is probably created by the Saffron. I don't like Rose scents in general, so this is a pass for me, but it's good quality and has very good projection with decent longevity. In sum, Lithium is one of nu_be's better offerings, presenting a dark rose scent for men with some gourmand nuances running throughout. Thumbs up, and worth exploring if you're in the market for a masculine rose.
