Solitude

Beautiful 100% natural spicy wood fragrance, dark vanilla, pepper, dry woods, balsams, with orris root. To me it’s like the natural raw organic version of DH, with no synthetic sweetness.

I just got the travel size roll-on today, so these are my initial thoughts. I’ll come back to edit after the scent settles. I found, upon initial spray, it is a masc-leaning, unisex scent for those who like woody notes. It definitely has a campfire like quality that hit about 30 minutes post application, with a slight incense smell. I also get a herbal pepper. I can’t smell any vanilla yet. It’s definitely not emanating any sweetness. I’m a bit torn on whether I like it. I might try layering on a sweeter scent to see if that cuts through the heavier notes. At this point in time, I’d say, if you like woody/incense style scents with a hint of sweet - I’d go with Replica By the fireplace.

Awful cheap synthetic caramel smell overtakes everything else and ruins this one for me. Hard to imagine anything that smells less natural than this.

Offensive opening to beautiful dry down. The opening of Solitude is VERY STRONG black pepper and tarragon. Pretty unpleasant imo, but only lasts 15mins ish thank goodness. The black pepper is then gone, the tarragon is much lighter and gives a nice herbaceous quality to the smooth vanilla/tonka/wood. I wish that my bottle wasn't a roll on because I would like to know how Solitude wears when sprayed on skin and clothes. Being a natural fragrance, it's very light wearing, which is fine by me, I like reapplying. It's a very interesting vanilla, so I'm happy to have it in my collection.

Have to disagree with the review below. I have fresh cracked pepper in my kitchen and it smells so much like this scent. Very natural, very "organic" smelling. I don't smell any tarragon, mainly smell the pepper and woods. It's lovely and isn't overpowering at all.
