MossMoss

I was in Chattanooga for an unfortunate family event and wanted to lift my spirits with something I shared with my grandmother Perfume. I drove to the address to find the storefront hasn’t opened yet, but Joe let me in anyways. I got to see behind the scenes, talk about his inspirations, how he makes fragrances, colours, vibrations, and frequencies. He sent me home with some samples and I smelled the whole line plus some newer ones and ones that won’t make it to market. This is in the same vain as Coven, but mossier and less sweet. I smelled two versions, the current one is my favourite. The amber and musk envelop the moss and galbanum in a warm nap. This is nostalgic of playing outdoors in the humid dense earthy forests of Florida, covered in moss. It has a fresh aspect as well, giving some brightness and glow. This is right up there with my light as coven is to my dark. One of my favourites along side Blue Winter and an unreleased gem.

Imagine waking early on a frosty late autumn morning, and walking out into the woods. The air is crisp, and you inhale deeply: the earthy forest floor, the notes of damp chilled moss growing on the north side of a tree, a hint of fallen leaves, and a rush of something intensely green. And as you walk, the morning light brings warmth and the frost lifts, and you pause and savor the new day. That's the feeling I get when I wear MossMoss. The mosses and resinous woody aspects are nicely balanced with a hint of vanilla and cardamom. I met the perfumer on a visit to Chattanooga, and had the opportunity to sample several of his fragrances. I really liked the ones that I sampled. MossMoss was my favorite, so I bought a bottle and it's lately been my morning go-to. I love it!
