Blue Lili

I BB this bottle because MaxAroma had it for a silly cheap price ($68 75 ml bottle). I do like it, but it appears that I'm having a different experience than others who've posted their thoughts. I always do first spritz in the air, to get a feel for the fragrance before I spray it on my wrists. Immediately I got a beautiful iris (whaaat???), it must have been the leather, vetiver and woods meshing with the rose. When I sprayed it on my skin, it was very similar to the spritz I sprayed into the air. I'm letting it dry down for the next half hour before I write the next paragraph. The rose has stepped up and there is a smidge of peach and green notes, but that iris is still there and lovely. My thoughts wandered to Hiris, "why does this remind me of Hiris?". Is the leather creating this illusion? Sure enough, Hiris has rose and woods... Twenty minutes later, I'm getting a stronger rose wrapped in leather. This continues to be a sophisticated and mature composition. There seems to be a symmetry with Blue Lili and the house of Hermes. It feels like an Hermes product. The iris persists in the background for added depth. I'm growing to love this perfume. Just as an aside to anyone considering this perfume, if you enjoy Hiris, you'll love Blue Lili.

Huh! This is a truly impressive blind buy- also for $80 on MaxAroma- a major bargain. The listed notes and reviews made by others are accurate. I’m getting a totally unisex green leather peachy rose, slightly retro but in a modern interpretation of vintage. The packaging is excessive but kind of amazing- like nesting jewelry boxes. Blue Lili is totally unique. It checks all my boxes for owning a full bottle: you will not have a similar rose to this. It’s not too sweet or feminine. But the peach is there! It’s neither syrupy or powdery... I smell an inky black rose. Maybe that’s the currants? There’s some cedar-y base happening? Def leather. Violet is there too.

Good fragrance based on roses, delicate yet lasting and persistent. What made me fall in love was the combination with peach, truly original. To try.

This was horrible. I got a carded sample to test, and I couldn't out-wait the first five minutes after spraying it on my wrists. It smelled like a particularly dreadful bug-spray. Perhaps the sample had gone off. I imagine that's possible. In any case, I washed it off as best I could and then layered an old favourite over-top so that I couldn't smell it anymore. Dreadful. Honestly.

Blue Lili is one of the world’s most spectacular blue diamonds, that weighs 30.06-carat and that was named after the wife of William Goldberg, the former President of William Goldberg Diamond Corporation. “Its Vivid Blue color, remarkable size and distinctive cut make the Blue Lili one of the rarest blue diamonds in history.” (Note from the company) Orlov Blue Lili was named after the diamond, and it is a diamond in a bottle. It is clear and bright, it sparkles and shines, its colours are overflowing under the rays of the sun. It’s a sophisticated and elegant rose-peach based fragrance with suede nuances to it. It is definitely my favorite rose-peach combo I have ever come across in perfumery. It is one of those fragrances, that does have a slight vintage feel to it, but at the same time it remains modern and classy. I wear it like a piece of jewellery with the rare diamond - Orlov Blue Lili is so beautiful! The staying power and projection are great on me.

At first, I thought Blue Lili unremarkable but realized it captures a freshly showered rose in a way that is very agreeable on my skin. Where many rose scents strive for realism via geranium to lend fresh brightness, here we have the peachy aspect that keeps it close to a true, sweet-smelling, juicy pink rose without geranium's wearying green-sour persistence. The rose-musk dry down wears for several hours, but I find myself often reapplying to get that fresh burst of bloom. A photorealistic rose suitable for any age. It's pricey, but widely available online significantly discounted.

This is first and foremost a Rose perfume. So the name is a little odd and misleading. Right of the bat I get big Rose with smooth leather almost suede like. The peach is in the background and a little vintage smelling. I do get vetiver in the dry down. There is something about this that reminds me of Wish Come True by Humbert Lucas without the smokey notes but I will need to do a side by side. This is really pretty and I like it but I probably will not buy a FB.
