Cuir Imperial

I will start off saying that this smells nothing like Tom Ford Anthracite, both of which are now discontinued. Ormonde Jayne Cuir Imperial has this soft petroleum & leather/suede scent to it. I know what you are thinking of now but it doesn't smell anything close to Fahrenheit. If anything, Cuir Imperial is entirely unique. Nothing like I've smelt amongst my collection of 800 perfumes. I really like the opening and top & middle notes of the perfume. It is sensuous, comforting and beguiling. It has a tinge of middle eastern vibe but not entirely while at it. Oddly, this one of the rare perfumes where I wished the top and middle notes stayed as such without giving me a new experience in its drydown. Nonetheless, I could go on for a long while smelling off the sprayer of the perfume. It is THAT comforting for me. Try it. if you can still find it

A gorgeous sophisticated Oriental leather based scent. The perfume opens with aromatic notes of sage, cardamom, pepper, bergamot and cognac. The heart has the central leather note surrounded by suede, orris and light florals. The perfume settles into a mostly woody base (sandalwood, cedar, incense, vetiver) sweetened by slight tonka bean and patchouli. Unisex slight masculine leaning scent with moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Like wrapping yourself in a warm leather jacket still smelling of colognes you have used in the past. Very evocative. Enjoy!

Harsh, loud, strange petrol leather. No other notes exist. I'm not exaggerating, NONE! Biggest let down of 2018 because it looked amazing on paper. The notes looked like it would be my favorite perfume in the world. To the contrary, it was one of the worst. I bought it from Harrods site and sold the next day.

Ugghh,hated this stuff... quite harsh & rough around the edges with a kind of sour undertone...maybe the bergamot or something else. Can't remember the last time I disliked a fragrance this much.

Nice blend, smells luxurious like being in an expensive leather shop. Leathers smell great when rubbed with scented oil. The opening is a bit strong fresh leathery scent but that quickly disappears. Other notes like raspberry and white flowers start to project followed by smooth delicate creamy notes from orris, sandalwood and tonka beans. The drydown is sweeter than the opening. This is not a typical line-up by OJ since it features leather as the main theme, but they did it so well while maintaining OJ signature DNA intact.

If you are looking for a truly leather scent, thus one is for you! Like the scent of a store selling exclusively leather clothing .... on my skin nothing else comes up, although in the Bois de Jasmin review there are many other enticing notes that might be here, too bad my skin doesn't express them!

Note pyramid seems pretty awesome on paper.... Cant wait to try out :P
