Brutus

Many people are surprised by how Brutus diverges so much in style from the rest of the Orto Parisi line. To that, I can only add that if there is such a thing as classicism in perfumery, Brutus as such certainly belong to the classics, much as figurative painting is opposed to (hyper)modernism. It makes me think of the paintings of Odd Nerdrum, in my view someone who excels and make use of every classical style that has existed, but also someone who always manages to apply a layer of contemporary relevance to his compositions. I often entertain the idea that the concept of Brutus is an allusion to Guerlain's Heritage. It is seeking to escape the shadows of a classical titan, and to be an act of revolt. The question is what does indeed follow the First Triumvirate. I think the perfumer Gualtieri was no adolescent rebel at the time Brutus was created. He knew well that performing an olfactory Ides of March will not reinvent the wheel nor change rules radically. It is, after all, a bit tiring to always feel you need to break things and make something that surprise people. Some will yawn and say "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose". Personally I think Heritage survived the stabbing and to me, the perfume "Brutus" is guided by a Second Triumvirate of Heritage EDP, Kouros and perhaps something like Yatagan. But it is of course entirely its own thing, these three are just vague memories occasionally invoked when I spray it on. Brutus is one of my favourite office and daytime scents, a perfect balancing act where I get a caleidoscopic journey from tradition to novelty while my surroundings gets enough of something familiar as to not be too surprised or put off. I would say that Gualtieri does not care too much about categories such as fougère or chypre, and that Brutus is a bit of both. It has warmth for winter, freshness for spring, herbs for autumn and citruses for summer use, but for very warm days there are other things I would rather reach for. Although idiosyncratic, it is hard to imagine it to be seen as strange in a formal evening setting. But, say, if I sprayed on Brutus in the morning and needed a very quick change into evening attire without a shower, I would be more inclined to replace it with Héritage EDP. If you don't care to own too many bottles, Brutus is a brilliant allrounder, however. Some say performance is poor, but I disagree. This style of perfume will always come forward as cloying if it is too strong, and it is not very gentlemanly to seek to impose yourself on the entire room you are in. And, although I mostly go noseblind for it myself sometime after lunch, I do get occasional whiffs also in the evening. All in all, I think it is worth the money if you fall for it like I did, but if you can do with a cologne or EDT for office, there are cheaper things to buy.

A really solid fragrance thats easily the most wearable from the brand. Orti Parisi make incredible fragrances, I enjoy them but can't wear them everyday due to the absolute power and sometimes fatiguing longevity. But my favourite type of genres are without a doubt the Barbershop, Fougere, Chypre styles along with Powerhouse 80s offerings. I adore vintage perfumery, especially when it's at the highest level of the craft. Here I get a little of everything, typical citrus and floral notes running through the top and middle joined by a base of timeless and sturdy collection of pachoulli, oakmoss, musk, woods and amber's. It's vintage-esque, artisanal, adequately powerful and quite honestly unique, I'm struggling to think of anything that closely resembles this offering. It's an underrated gem from Gualtieri and works perfectly as a slightly more mature and well dressed man's scent. Performance is solid but I should mention that when I bought it 6 months ago, initially I found it to perform quite poorly especially disappointing being from this brand. However, today I decided to give it a few sprays in the current heat of the UK and wow! The scent is deeper, more evolved with many more increased nuances than before. Projection and longevity are very much improved also, it's not a beast but it's strong enough for a day out and easily into the evening. I'd probably wear this all year, happy to wear day to day but easily reaching for it on an evening/day out or special event. It's crafted to perfection with the whole perfume blended seemlesly, although quite linear its beautifully rounded with the many facets detectable to make a wonderful whole. Definitely one for the fellas who are actual proper men and not some bizarre interpretation of the so called male of the species that seems to be prevalent in these troubling times! Great value, a little goes a long way and if you can get a discount it's a bit of a must buy for the right type of gent. Manly, strong, timeless and niche quality, What's not to like! A real departure from Gualtieri and his associated brands but this works, it really, really works.

Brutus is my very first Orto Parisi, a blind buy I couldn’t resist after finding it on sale online. Up until now, I had only experienced Megamare – far too ubiquitous these days – and Risvelium, which I genuinely enjoyed. Apart from those two, I had no real exposure to Alessandro Gualtieri’s creations. The opening immediately struck me as citrusy, spicy, and woody – a composition that reminds me of Terre d’Hermès, but darker, dirtier, and more grounded. Patchouli stands out strongly, setting the tone with its earthy depth. As it develops, the fragrance softens: sweetness creeps in, projection decreases, and while I don’t clearly distinguish individual notes, floral aspects emerge. I never quite pick up on the rose that is officially listed, but I do catch hints of lavender. Despite this shift, the citric brightness and patchouli backbone remain present throughout the dry down. Like many reviewers have noted, Brutus evokes an image of elegant men from another era, working in opulent, perhaps even smoky offices. I don’t usually associate fragrances with gender, but this one leans heavily masculine. It radiates a sense of confidence, and as Terre d’Hermès has been a favorite of mine since its release, it’s no surprise that I absolutely love Brutus as well. Compared to Megamare or Risvelium, it feels less atomic, yet longevity is solid, even if the projection is not room-filling. The name “Brutus” is typical of Gualtieri’s playful approach, though I find it somewhat misleading: in Latin, it suggests something animalistic, raw, even vulgar, whereas the perfume itself is refined and “old money” in a good sense. Finally, I truly appreciate the bottle. The size is just right for collectors who own many perfumes, especially since three sprays are more than enough. The real highlight is the cap – heavy, tactile, and beautifully crafted, with an artisanal touch that perfectly complements the fragrance.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but Brutus is an underrated gem and, to my nose, one of Alessandro Gualtieri’s finer achievements. It belongs firmly among the most compelling male-centered fragrances of the modern niche era. Not in a loud or obvious way, but in a deeper, almost archaic sense. This is not a fragrance that reveals itself on a blotter. On paper, it can feel dry, abrasive, even off-putting. Pencil shavings, damp wood, a faint bitterness that borders on unpleasant. That reaction is almost intentional. Brutus refuses to perform for the strip. On skin, however, especially after a hot shower and under heavy clothing, it transforms completely. The fragrance blooms with a magnetic, old-world authority. It projects presence rather than volume, and it does so in a way that feels instinctual rather than calculated. This is where its reputation quietly forms. There is something undeniably primal at work here. A dense, beautifully textured woodiness wrapped in smoke, earth, and shadow. Patchouli emerges not as sweetness but as depth. Aromatic herbs cut through the darkness, while subtle chocolatey and resinous facets add warmth and sensual gravity. The composition feels multifaceted and alive, shifting slowly throughout the wear. What fascinates me most is its effect on others. My wife gifted this to me, and she has consistently said that Brutus, among all of Gualtieri’s creations, has a particular pull on female senses. Wearing it now, I find myself agreeing. I cannot fully explain the mechanism, only the result. It feels like old magic. Quiet, confident, and deeply human. Brutus does not try to seduce. It simply exists with conviction. And that, perhaps, is exactly why it works.

Does anyone know why every second Orto Parisi release gets compared to Black Afghano? Only one that really is close enough to be called a carbon copy is Terroni. Brutus is hands down the best Orto Parisi from those that I had a chance to test. This is very clean and gentlemenly smell very much in a vein of modern classics such as Zino or Heritage Guerlain, kind of oriental fougere (with patch overdose, woody ambery base and some great florals in the mids). There is nothing too old about it, it is extremely wearable and modern and smells expensive. I can see why someone would say this resembles BA, because the drydown gets darker on the skin and I’m picking those vibes, but very subdued, more like a dark amber patchouli base that lurks from the skin - this will not offend or shock anyone, completely safe office scent, but at the same tome very special and unique compared to run-of-the-mill blue mainstream production. Despite its name, this is very well behaved fragrance with manners. I do not think I will buy full bottle, as my fougere cravings can be satisfied with forementioned affordable classics, but if this is your style of fragrances and you want to expand your experience into niche territory, Brutus is a perfect choice - satisfaction guaranteed! If you are a lady looking for something lavishly luxurious and sophisticated for well groomed partner, do yourself a favour and instead of Bleu de Channel pushed by your local fragrance parlour lady, get him this and thank me later. This is how a real man should smell.

So Viride is a patchouli bergamot for warm days (below 30, not below 10) and this is patchouli and citrus for colder (below 20-25 Celsius, not below 5-10) days. That's it folks, you can go home now. This is a woody, labdanum-leathery, spicy, a bit of citrus opening patchouli dominant, older masculine perfume. Later in the drydown it's metallic and incense-y. There's pepper, rose, geranium, patchouli, lavender, bergamot, sandalwood, cedar, leather, soapy cleanliness... everything you need. Will last you a day despite the fact I instantly become anosmic to it and the projection is moderate. Surprisingly safe for Gualtieri (but I assume this was presented at the brand's launch, so I get it). A classic barbershop, woody fougere. I Get the Brutus/brutalism idea with this. It is what it is, but to make brutalism good it's not enough to make a concrete block. It has to have balance, taste - that's Alessandro's work right here. On paper, this is a boring 'another one'. On a technical level this is so, so perferctly blended. Round, smooth, all the notes needed are here, nothing missing, nothing standing out. Brute, but somehow total. If you like patchouli and citrus combo and want it fresher, suitable for warm days try Viride.

Here I am, Not traditionally a fan of fougeres as they tend to go sharp and screechy on my skin. The only fougere I have loved and own is TF Fougere Dargent. Well just got this in a bundle and it absolutely blows the TF out if the water (sorry Tom). This take the silvery metallic facets I move with FD and riunds them out. No surprise Orto has phenomenally blended this creation to its best. The patchouli here is not overwhelming nor abrasive in the blend. It has that buttery “thing” I love from Black Afgano as well. Hard to explain it. Cant wait to see how this continues to wear on my skin. Orto and Naso quickly becoming two of my favorite houses - sad its taken me this long to appreciate Orto. As this dries down I get almost no Fougere, maybe a remnant. All the lavender and floral bits have faded and the dry down is that seductive woody patchouli we love from Black afgano. Tremendous fragrance, refined and blended to perfection. However, I think my bottle of TF FD is safe - but maybe this would be excellent layered with it....

I have a small sample. I never would've thought to try this one because of the citrus notes (I don't like citrus), but the lovely Natalie from Aedes de Venustas turned me onto Brutus and I just love this stuff. I don't smell citrus at all. It's more of a rough and dirty and musty scent, with just the right teeny tiny bit of sweetness to make it a perfect scent to my nose. I could swear I smell a little oud in here but that note is not listed. I just love it. So ridiculously delicious. The only thing is, for this price I think it should have more strength and longevity. It seems rather light; I have already applied it twice today, so I hesitate to buy a full bottle. But...Brutus will probably win. Update 4/27/15: Got full bottle. Siiiiigh. 2021: I wear this all the time and it does last and project after all. I think my sample was weak for some unknown reason. This is one of my top favorite scents. It is also one I get many compliments on. Brutus is BRUTAL and I love it.

Still my favorite patchouli centered fragrance. One type of fragrance I keep searching for is a fresh Citrus, dark and mysterious fragrance. Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 fills this wonderfully and my favorite for the Citrus fresh Myyrh but for Patchouli this is the best. I think I will stop searching and accept this is the best. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I just ordered my second bottle of this juice and I'm so excited to receive it. I've just run out of my first bottle which lasted almost a year I wear this alot at home. It relaxes me and the scent bubble is hard to beat. This is wonderful perfume, balanced to perfection. Is it versatile, well not really. But it is elegant and smooth. Perfect for an evening out. Save this for special occasions! Longevity is good Projection is decent The smell is wonderful Final score well 10/10 for its class. The bottle, presentation, smell and performance are just right with this. Now to try more Orto Parisi. . .

This can be your last fragrance if you're a man. This is a very beautiful gentleman scent. It smells like an old-school fragrance, a man who is masculine and smells great, this is what he smells like. It's a quite sharp fragrance. When I first smelt it, it itched my nose, it made me sneeze. I feel like there's a sharp, metallic note in there. Might be from the patchouli. This is the smell of thinking, of a senator, of feeling your wheat field after a battle, you being a Roman solider, hence the name "Brutus". Emperor's Julius Caesar son, Brutus, who took a leading role in his assassination. The projection is enough. A gentleman doesn't want to be loud. It's not as great as the other Orto Parisi fragrances but the smell is there. The longevity is great. It is my favorite fragrance from Orto Parisi and I believe it is heavily underrated. This is also a safe blind buy. Please, give more credit to this fragrance whenever you can.

definitely reminds me of Fougere d'argent due to the big dose of Labdanum. Smells fairly serious but somewhat inviting, whereas d'argent comes across serious and formal. This is quite bright and interesting, if not a bit tart or sour. It smells suitable for any season. Its honestly quite a nice fougere. I'd pick it up if I found it cheap enough. It sets itself apart from my other fougeres enough to have a place in my collection if I really wanted. Powerful in the first 30 minutes then slowly tames down to a skin scent over the course of a couple hours. I'll need to wear it a few times to get a proper feel for the sillage and how long it lasts. As it is right now, I cant smell it at all in the air after 4 hours but I could also be nose blind ( I can usually smell stuff deemed weak for a whole day) . I'd rock this in the office if I applied it an hour before work because that first hour is pretty loud.

my first orto parisi fragrance that Im trying right now I got bergamask, viride, seminalis, megamare and risvelium in the list. opening is really felt like old school I got patchouli lavender geranium with some wood smell I dont really good at this Im kinda new. Realy good I think opening smells like grand soir to me Im gonna update the middle and drydown Edit: its not striking now its smooth patchouli woody add little bit clean metallic smell very good for me. opening:fougere, lavender, patchouli middle:metallic, patchouli fougere drydown:musky smooth patchouli fougere, little bit bitter chocolate but %60 bitter, its little bit sweet chocolate not dry probably coming from pathcouli The Feel giving to me: Library, have a classy outfit clean but also relaxed, clean haircut chilling in library reading book and when I smell this I imagine brown color in my mind maybe thats why I imagine library.

I've heard people say they don't smell much patchouli in this fragrance but for me at least it's definitely the most prominent note. Opens up as a beautiful warm citrus scent backed by a somewhat dark patchouli and as it dries down, I get patchouli and very warm woody and ambery notes. My personal belief is that getting compliments from a fragrance is less about the fragrance and more about how you present yourself (unless you're wearing something especially challenging then don't expect compliments) but even so I tend to get more compliments wearing this then I do anything else. Definitely can be worn in either warmer or colder weather and is surprisingly easy to pull of for an """ultra niche""" (I hate that phrase) fragrance. Absolutely stunning fragrance 10/10

This is by far, One of the best fragrance in small collection. Brutus is fresh, dark, mysterious, classy, luxurious, simple but yet sophisticated at the time. To me, it's a love at first sniff. It's quite linear. Doesn't develop much from the top to dry down. But it's done in the most beautiful way. Perfectly blended. Smooth and long lasting. Projection is quite heavy for the first 2 hours. Then it will start to sit closer to your skin. But as you move around it will leave a great scent trail. This can be worn all year round. Almost all occation. Works great for the office as well. 3 sprays it's all you need. It's easily a 10 out of 10.

What an absolute gentlemanly, sophisticated smell. This is one of the best Alessandro creations. Fresh, spicy, pleasant, inviting and so elegant! This is how a mature man that gets the job done smells like. Oozes confidence and comfort. Still too early for me to comment on the performance but the scent profile is gorgeous, slightly reminds me of Terre d'Hermes due to the earthiness and the subtle citrus. I love it. Edit: Longevity 7+ hours easily. Gentle and smooth projection, not overpowering at all and doesn't fill a room which is exactly what its trying to do. You keep a scent bubble throughout the day until it slowly fades away.

Calming, elegant and not overpowering like the others from the brand. Still retains that signature DNA that Gualtieri puts in his perfumes but its not even close to something controversial such as Terroni or Cuoium. I personally feel like its really herbal so if you are not a fan I dont see a point in reaching for this one. For me its really versatile and easy reach when I want to wear something simple but still scratch that „niche” itch. Important to note i dont think its something mindblowing which is kind of obvious considering its by far the most „safe” from the Orto Parisi line. Still worth a try! 7.5/10

I have to say despite the lack of creation you could accuse this line of, I like them on the whole. The fact that this is quite different and is perhaps my favourite speaks volumes. It has a wonderfully bright and accurate citrus and fruity berry type opening to me. Then some leafy greenery and a base of patchouli. That's not all I can say about it, there's hints in there nods to wood and resin even incense but very tiny. This makes for a long lasting and interesting fruity scent of which you get more Patch in the drydown. I really liked it.

If you are new to the Orto Parisi brand, I would say that you should check this one out before some of their more popular scents like Bergamask and Megamare. This is a very classy and elegant woody and patchouli fragrance. This is one of the tamer scents in the line, both in scent profile and in performace. It has a more moderate/soft sillage compared to the other scents, and it lasts around 6-8 hours. This is a perfect scent for an evening out to a fancy resturant or to a live performace. This is my #4 in the whole line.

This is my favourite from the entire range. It merges with my skin perfectly, if a little too perfect as it indeed becomes a skin scent quite quickly after spraying (unless I’m missing something). It’s a perfect unisex that’s aromatic and more complex than the simple 3 notes as stated here. I get lavender in the top, with a sweet musky patchouli at the heart and labdanum and birch in the base making it a hazy kind of woody. The dry-down brings a salty aquatic element that’s salaciously savoury. It’s absolutely lovely.

Have to give this an in depth review. Now at the first spray, it’s a bitter and earthy patchouli with citrus in the background, has a fizzy undertone with a bit of lavender. It’s not anything crazy, but that’s what I love about it. It’s a “gentleman’s” scent. What makes me love this fragrance might make some people hate it. But everything is subjective. If your looking for something to make statements and turn people’s necks, this is not for you.

I'm obsessed with this cologne. I've had my friends bury their faces in my clothes to smell me when I wear it. Every time I wear it, at least one person will tell me "hey, you smell good". It's definitely one of my all-time favorite patchouli scents. It feels oily when you apply it, but it spreads well and dries quickly. I only ever spray it once- it's a very strong scent! It likes to stick to my clothes until I wash them. 10/10.

I get ridiculous performance with this one. This is my favorite patchouli-based scent. It's a fresh version of Black Afgano but overall much better in my opinion. I'm not into freshy scents at all (cool water, gio, anything citrus, etc.) and would never really bother exploring but when I came across this one by accident it changed my whole perspective and now I dabble with the freshies thanks to Brutus. OVERALL - 9/10

Earthy and mossy, but in a fresh way, then it becomes warm woody and more patchouly. As for me it has Coco Mademoiselle vibes, but in a more woody and masculine way, especially head and heart notes and that's amazing. Highly aromatic with very good longevity and moderate sillage - a safe scent, not a beastly mode like other Orto Parisi's. Can't compare to anythinng I've tried before.

Fresh, floral and sweaty musk with woods and patchouli. May come across as weird to some, probably not a compliment getter if that's what you're looking for. Though this is one of the easy ones on the nose from Orto Parisi. This is for the grounded individual, who does carry a wild side, but actively tames it with softness throughout the time of the day. Great for the office.

smells like a modern alternative style version of a mens 80's fragrance. The projection is very calm so instead of a green barbershop smell in your face, it gives off a very noirish brown vibe and what i would imagine a detective in the 1940s to smell like after a shower and some type of greasy hair product that smells masculine all before he had his morning cigarette.

It’s wonderful how fragrance can be so subjective because personally I don’t get the any of Guerlain comparisons and it doesn’t smell much like Pardon to me either. That said to my nose it does smell like a lighter slightly muskier and more wearable version of Black Afgano. I prefer the darker richer fragrance of Black Afgano but this is a solid release nonetheless.

This is my entry into this house and I have to say, I am not disappointed in the least. This is so wonderfully crafted, balanced and smooth. Warm amber, huge patchouli and leather. Its projection is great and the sillage 3 hours in is still very much present. This isn’t as overwhelmingly strong as some reviews have suggested however and to me that’s ok.

I'm obsessed with Brutus. I wish it weren't called Brutus bc I wonder how I'd feel about it if it were named something completely different. The word Brutus is formative in terms of how I define and feel about this perfume. Anyway - I can't get enough of this smell. I purchased Viride recently and Brutus will be my next buy.

No joke the day I got it, I went out and I got a compliment. It starts off as a very patchouli smell with light citrus and cedar, but evolves into a very elite scent. It smells like what I imagine a Roman city would smell like and how it smells like a the fall of something great. I love this scent and highly recommend it!

I don't know how to describe this. apart from what the nose smells like the oud and what not what i get when i smell it on myself is that i smell 'me' i smell like myself when i wear it and it makes me feel comfortable which is weird and unique no other fragrance had this effect on me It does not make sense, i know

In my opinion it's the best fragrance of the house. I own and love many but I found this one extremely elegant and sophisticated. I'm getting some similarities to Pardon, at least with the top notes. Drydown smells to earthy patchouly but very wearable and rich. For evenings most of the time.

Smells very nice and manly! There is mostly wood and some patchouli later, but not too much which is what I prefer. The other notes are as good as mystery but if they're all really there then they're done a nice job under perfumer's hand.

Gorgeous orange jam smell. Its deep, it manly. Its not your typical citrus scent, its ripe orange, it has some of that typical Gualtieri "moistness" that you find in Black Afgano and Terroni. Its pure work of art, and its wearable.

Obviously unisex. But with the rough and gruff image of the Popeye character Brutus along with the fact that the name Brutus sounds like "brute", this fragrance now leans "more male". I love this one btw.

I like Brutus more and more everytime I wear it. Its dark and fresh at the same time. Very smooth and welcoming, but it still have real character from pachouli. Unisex.

It’s a brown toned rainy day in a bottle. Makes me think of steampunk aesthetic. Brutus doesn't scream, it whispers softy on the skin.

Brutus is a recently found keeper for my bf and I’m happy about it. “Brings” quite many of my most beloved notes.

Comforting and transformative. Not for everyone. But this lifts me to my best form of reflection.

I loved viride but this is even better, for someone who absolutely live for bitter scents!!!

My only real negative with Orto Parisi, is that there are a lot of synthetics in it. I don't smell anything that comes across as "natural" in it. This makes it more stable, long lasting and unusual. So you'll Probably not smell like anyone else. The negative is that it can come across as chemical for people (me included). Also, synthetic fragrances can cause nose fatigue/noseblindness. Three great things about Brutus is: 1. How it turns on you, not once, but twice (on my skin at least). This makes it a fun and interesting scent, and it portrays the person it is named after perfectly. 2. How it never forces itself on anyone with an overpowering projection, but is constantly creating a nice scent bubble around you all day. This makes it a nice work scent for most occupations. 3. If you ever get sweaty or warm, it comes to life even more. So the more you move, the more you smell. This makes it a fragrance you can hide or reveal depending on your action. It opens on me with chocolaty patchouli, woody, and mossy scent. Pleasant and friendly, inviting people in. It's not super strong, even in the opening, but clearly detectable. In the mid, i suddenly get a very sharp and metallic note. It's never unpleasant, but it is very different from the opening, which is warm and inviting. The drydown is quite different, again. The sharp and metallic notes are now toned way back, and it's got a slight citrusy, warm spice, slightly animalic and leathery scent. There is also a hint of something smoky to my nose. It's once again warm and inviting. It's not a strong projector, but a consistent projector. Longevity is well over the 6+ hours, with linear projection all the way. 6 hours after applying, it's as pretty much as strong as it was at hour 1. Where: Casual, semi-casual, and work. Pretty wearable for most ocations. When: Fall, winter, and spring. Can be worn on cool, cloudy summer days or evenings. But too warm and it becomes a bit much. Who: This is for men, as it is full of "masculine" notes. Age group over 25 years old in my opinion. It's not a typical "youngmans fragrance", but if you're a niche lover, this could be for any age and gender. Personal score: 8.5/10. It doesn't blow me away, but i like it. It is a great fragrance with nice and friendly behaviour. I would say it's the perfect Orto Parisi fragrance to start out with. Not too weird, and not too basic. A nice toe dip into the strange and wearable niche world.

Recently I got a sample and decided to have a couple of full wears of this. I was totally blind about it, knowing nothing about the fragrance even if I had some knowledge of the nose behind it and his lines. I was expecting, just by the name, some kind of strong fragrance with edgyness and something linked to the hystorical character (Brutus the son of Ceasar). And maybe I got some of Brutus' betrayal, indeed the trolling Gualtieri's irony got me again, as it happened with Duro (which means "hard" in italian) that has in it maybe the sweetest and softest sandalwood ever created (lately had the chance to put an eye on the formula and the sandalwood accord was made with an incredible 36 parts of javanol, the sweetest synthetic for sandalwood, 26 of bacdanol to reinforce the impact, 3 of Polysantal and ebanol for the musky nuance and just a tiny bit of natural sandalwood oil 2 parts), in the same way there is no brutality in this which is a modern, synthetic take, on a classic fugére. Citrus plus lavandin or sinthetic lavander and an hint of green flowers (maybe some geraniol plus something something), leading to a pencil shavings synthetic cedarwood accord in the drydown put togheter with some dirty musk-patchouli thing. Quite old style, gentlemanly in a certain tame way. This is very far from the most known Gualtieri's fragrances, and definetly the safest blind buy on his lines. Not a bad fragrance by any mean, but neither surprising or much interesting. On my skin its performances were not good at all (again it was a suprise for me because of the usual owerwhelming performances of Gualtieri's productions) and it was down to a musky skin scent after 3-4 hours. I will rate its performances for what I have tested but please consider that the decant was prepared by the shop and maybe something went wrong. Take the ratings with a grain of salt.
