Extraordinary Pétale

I love wearing this - it's a clean, citrus scent. I am not a huge citrus fan, so when I find one I like, I keep it. I found this one cheap, so it's a win-win. However, the bottle and scent quality do not feel cheap. I have 500+ bottles, and this is one of the most attractive bottles, so well made, a hefty cap, body of the glass, etc. So it's very well done. I oddly enough like to wear this in cold weather, like 10 - 30 degrees kind of cold. I love a cold, crisp citrus, and I think this works in that temp due to the champagne and the vanilla. In the summer, this wears off kind of quickly, but it still smells clean and crisp. So if you're a "summer spring" only person for this, give it a shot in the cold if you get super cold weather - it will surprise you!

Bought on clearance. Lovely. Had alot citrus in the opening, pretty pink floral. I really enjoyed this . Very feminine springtime floral. Pretty good lasting power. Good price. Safe blind buy if you are floral lover Alot of champagne and bergamot at the opening, with orange blossom and jasmine in the background. Cheerful perfume. Safe buy for citrus floral lovers of perfume. Regret giving it away.

Extraordinary Pétale smells more expensive and interesting than the namesake it's a flanker of. Granted, neither are exactly avant-garde in their composition and are just very agreeable and commercial designer fragrances, but Extraordinary is a poor man's Flowerbomb/La Vie Est Belle with more rose and Pétale is a poor man's No 5 L'Eau. The aldehydes in here are incredibly rich and dazzlingly sparkling, and while this is a linear fragrance that hardly lasts just like the original, at least it has base notes and depth to it, the amber and musks are a lot richer and more present than the anemic and top-heavy citrus rose of Extraordinary. This is not listed in the notes, but this is actually quite grassy and green too, the citruses here are really unisex and tart. This is not a sweet fragrance, regardless of the Barbie pink color of the bottle. Extraordinary is the safe and cheap blind buy for the Coco Mademoiselle type girl and Extraordinary Pétale is the safe and cheap blind buy for the No 5 or No 19 type girl. Neither are doing something particularly, well, extraordinary, but they're perfectly agreeable and easy to like for the budget price.

This was a blind buy. I was sold on it when I read the notes. It seems the trend for the season is rose so I took a chance. As luck would have it, I absolutely love the smell. It has a longevity somewhere between 2 and 4 hours. The sillage is somewhat moderate. As I worked at my desk, I could get a whiff of it after 4 hours. It made me want to reapply. I will get an atomizer to refresh the perfume on the go. I am very pleased with my purchase. My nose isn't train to separate notes, but I smell rose, jasmine, musk, and it seems a little airy (must be the champagne). Very reasonably priced.
