OUAI's "Melrose Place" is aptly named. It's a pretty obvious rosy floral fragrance, but with a few fun twists. While it lacks the sophistication of some more high-grade luxury selections, "Melrose Place" has enough to offer that I am considering adding this to my rotation as a go-to floral fragrance. This is on the more affordable end of the high-grade perfume scale–and its scent profile reflects that. It's a sweet, light and widely appealing rose fragrance. Yes, it has that sparkly opening, courtesy of the subtle champagne pink pepper notes. What especially caught my attention is the use of lychee, a bright, piquant and berryish scent that I love in real life–and I love it in this fragrance. The transition from zesty lychee to sensuous rose is smooth and natural, both on the card and on my skin. I like the presence of bergamot and freesia here, and peony adds that extra layer of accessible sweetness. But the rose notes dominate, and do so quite nicely. The baby powder softness of musk and white wood base is as common as it comes–but considering the opening and heart notes, it's a good, safe dry down and a crowd-pleaser (for the most part). I compare it to a more overtly floral Clinique "Happy," or a sweeter, more feminine "Rose of No Man's Land" from Byredo. This scent really does evoke the fun, glamor and kitsch of frivolous teen dramas and soaps of the 90s, or shopping in Beverly Hills, or brunch with the gals on the weekend. It's lighthearted, bubbly, sparkly and playful–it doesn't attempt to be deeper than it is. For what it does, "Melrose Place" does it well, and does it right. And I, for one, appreciate that.

I recently purchased this blind buy from Ulta. I liked how the reviews mentioned it was a 90's scent. Here's my take. It's an effervescent, sparkly, blend of FREESIA, rose, and peony. It ALMOST reminds me of a GAP perfume I wore back in high school, it was called GAP Dream and it was slam full o' freesia. The entire girl's locker room smelled like that after gym as all the girls were spraying ourselves down with it (class of 2000.) The opening of this is very 90's, hair spray, cheap perfume, what everyone was wearing type of scent. Just like how everyone wore Issey Miyake back in the day as we watched all of the new episodes of Friends. The dry down on this does pull Clinique Happy vibes, less on the citrus though! More like a Clinique Happy floral edition, but not as floral as their In Bloom version. (I think the In Bloom is a floral bomb) But this is really nice! I am definitly feelin' myself and confident wearing this! It's a sunny day, windows down, type of fragrance, driving in the car, jamming out to Holla' Back Girl by Gwen Stefani. Definitly a throw back fragrance. Appropriately named Melrose Place. Or it could be Beverly Hills 90210. Or "Friends". I love it.

⭐️ 9/10 — the floral that somehow won me over I’m not normally a floral girl. I’m a gourmand girl all the way. And yet... this one has me. Melrose Place opens bright and fresh with champagne, lychee, and pink pepper, but it never feels sharp or screechy. Instead, it’s soft and luminous—almost like light passing through sheer fabric. It’s not a sugar-forward comfort scent, but it is comforting. The base of white musk, sandalwood, and a gentle amber keeps everything smooth and wearable, giving it a soft skin-scent quality that lingers without trying too hard. Projection is polite, longevity is decent, and the overall texture is clean, musky, and lightly powdered. I got this as a sample at Sephora and I immediately loved it upon first smell. My thought is that it's a rose forward scent but with a creamy and sweet presentation. When I wore it on my wrists and decolletage to test it out, it lasted about 9 hours from my memory. I'll have to test it out one more time to remember the longevity. The notes that were present on my skin were the rose, the berries, the champagne, and the woods. And the drydown got even sweeter as the day went on which is my preference in florals. It's really pretty. The price point for this is awesome honestly, it's not that expensive. I only spayed myself twice and I could smell it on me every time i walked or moved my arms about throughout the day. It has a good projection. Is it 100% long lasting? No. But for 9 hours, and it smells so heavenly, it might be worth it to purchase and wear if you're not looking to have your perfume stick to your skin for days afterwards. I would recommend this for those that are on a budget and looking for a chic, sensual, and feminine perfume.

I'm not really into soapy or shampoo-y scents, but Melrose Place is a big exception. There is something sexy about this fragrance. Never thought I would say that about a shampoo-y scent. I think it's the combination of rose and litchi that makes me go gaga. (Side note, looks like I should finally get a sample of PdM Delina.) This is the kind of perfume that I wish lasted 10 hours on me and projected a radius of at least 4 feet. This fragrance makes me feel like a sexy b*tch. I can steal your man in this fragrance (not that I would because girl power). It's so intoxicating. Everyone I have made smell this fragrance immediately loves it. Sadly, this fragrance disappears after an hour or so on my skin. Truly a sad day, folks. I haven't tested this out on my clothes or hair yet, but that's going to be my next experiment! Also, shoutout to my friend Danielle for gifting me a travel spray of Melrose Place. It truly makes me happy every time I give this a sniff!

This perfume smells like mid-July around 4pm when the girls get together for a long dinner at someone’s house and then crowd around a single mirror to do their makeup while passing around a bottle of Sancerre and your friend asks you to curl the back part of her hair because she can’t reach it and then you all put your Depop-ed Manolo Blahnik kitten heels on and scurry over to a bar you’ve been to a million times where your male friends are waiting with some summer cocktails and they ask you what took you all so long to get ready because they don’t GET IT and you get a little tipsy and talk about girlhood and your Hinge profiles and how the D.C. dating scene is cooked but it’s okay because your face hurts from laughing so much and the sun is going down and you smell like you bathed in rose water and then you take the long way home and are in bed by 10pm with a face mask on and your kitten sleeping at the foot of the bed

I really love this perfume, especially in the summer months. It comes off as a very clean, beachy, floral scent. It's my go-to scent during the day in the summer months because it's so unoffensive, feminine, and clean. I enjoy the fact that OUAI carries this scent in several body and haircare products. This makes it super easy to layer the scent, especially with the fact that it fades incredibly fast. This is definitely my major issue with this scent. I’ve been wearing it for years now and have never had it last longer than thirty minutes (being generous). Especially for a moderate price point, this is somewhat frustrating for me. However, despite this, I still really love this scent, and it remains a staple in my lineup.

I originally got this perfume as it was recommended as a cheaper dupe to Lust in Paradie by Ex Nihilo. Although they may be in the same fragrance family, they are not dupes. Melrose Place is the sweeter, fresher, younger sister to Lust in Paradise. This perfume is dewy, light, sweet, clean girl, rose scent an easy to wear fragrance on summer days. This perfume reminds me of “ pocketful of sunshine” song lol. Lust in Paradise is deeper floral and more musky version of this perfume. I would wear Melrose Place on summer days and Lust in Paradise on summer nights. Longevity and village is very good too. I ended up buying the Melrose body cream and hail oil bc this perfume was so good.

This is a young, fresh, rose fragrance. While I was wearing this I was told that my "laundry detergent" smelled amazing, but in reality it was just this. It's really a "fresh laundry" or "just got out of the shower" kind of scent which I enjoy. I get mostly rose from it which makes it very feminine but in a "doing pilates in pink athleisure" kind of way. The freshness stops the rose from being cloying or old fashioned. Based on the other reviews all mentioning how pink and girly it is one might think that melrose place is a sweet perfume. But it's not which makes it sophisticated enough to be worn by a wide age range. It's one of my favorites right now :)

This smells exactly like Clinique Happy In Bloom 2012 to me; both have fruity notes, freesia and a woody-ambery base. Melrose Place is very light and refreshing, perfect for spring and summer days and performs really well in the heat. I've gotten so many compliments with this perfume. The opening is bubbly and fizzy, sweet and fruity champagne, and I get a lot of litchi. It quickly settles itself down into its floral notes: peony, rose and freesia, each one stands out prominently yet blends with one another so nicely. Longevity isn't amazing though, it doesn't last more than 3 hrs.

Such a beautiful scent, this is! If I had to describe the girl wearing this, she's early 20s, wearing jeans and a tank top, her hair is down and wavy, and she's somewhere in Tahiti vacationing with her girlfriends. She's effortless, carefree, genuine, and doesn't have to try to be confident. She just is. The DNA of this fragrance is beautiful. It's a bouquet of flowers that you'd find in the lobby of a hotel in a tropical destination. It's addicting. Although this presents as very youthful, it could still be worn by older women. It's versatile. Yeah, this is a winner.

Obsessed. I have so many bottles and minis of this everywhere. It smells so fresh and clean, like you just showered with a fruity floral shampoo. It’s very basic and non-offensive but I’m a basic girl. This is very bright and girly and just CLEAN I just love it. I usually really dislike florals but they work so well in this perfume as they are very well blended. It’s doesn't last long enough which is why I have so many bottles but it’s not too expensive and i love it so much during the spring and summer so i don't mind having to spray every few hours.

Safe blind buy, inoffensive light floral, I prefer the dry down over the initial spray. Sweet and youthful! Smells similar to ouai detox shampoo. After I used the shampoo a lot I can't really smell this the same way- my brain keeps on making up the sour apple cider vinegary scent 😭. The perfume hasn't gone off but sometimes it will just smell like that to me, and then other times it will go back to normal. But I used to love it so much before I started using the shampoo so maybe if you don't get that you'll be fine.

This been my go-to everyday perfume for about a year now. A nice clean and simple scent. Sweet without being sickly sugary and the florals mix well together without making you smell like a bouquet of flowers. The rose is also not overpowering so don't be scared of it being an old lady perfume! I find it quite long lasting, if I want it to last a little longer I use the body cream in the same scent, then I am set from early morning until the evening. It has lasted me through 12 hour shifts. Definite recommend!

From a ROSE HATER, this blew me away when I first smelled it I was so obsessed I bought body care line until St. Barts took number 1. I had this in 10ml & since they now have body mist, I might get this again after I use some of my collection a little more. This is a clean everyday scent, nothing groundbreaking but still beautiful! If you’re not a rose fan like me, I still would try this. It is a well made lovely rose perfume, it’s not straight up screechy rose but a beautiful blend.

such a lovely fresh rose fragrance! the pink pepper is quite prominent alongside the rose, and combined with the juicy litchi and ambery base, I find it to be a bright and balanced extremely wearable floral (and I usually avoid florals altogether!) this scent reminds me of taking an everything shower on one of the first warm days of spring, and then taking a walk through a garden full of fresh blooms. as a big Glossier You fan, this feels like her rosey older sister

Watery, fresh, rose petals at the spa. I fell in love with this in the body scrub form (THE best texture and lather scrub imo), and bought the travel size perfume. I’m wearing it right now and burying my nose into my wrist as I’m transported to a springtime day spa out of this cold winter. I'm normally a freshy citrus girl, I push away any mature rose floral notes, but this rose mixed with peony and champagne is so delicate and feminine. I love it!

This was my go-to winter scent. I’m so sad I’m nearing the last quarter of the bottle. My mom found it abroad. This is not your straightforward rose scent. It’s simple and subtle. It’s a cool, gentle and delicate smell. It’s got a bit of style. The magnetic cap snaps on. The bottle is modern. Just fits in your hand so well. I just think the perfume is so matching of the present moment that I’m in awe of it. so portable~Melrose place ily!

I usually don't go for sweet scents ever but this one has a fresh quality that set it apart for me. The lychee is the perfect top note to add a touch of fruity. I love the dry down it ends up very warm on my skin and makes you feel clean. It really matches with the rest of Ouai's products, I've always loved the scent of their leave in conditioner. I really wish it lasted longer though it's probably the worst longevity of my collection.

Extremely clean smelling perfume, so right up my alley. I get mainly rose but in a shampooey way, not cheap though. Sillage is moderate and longevity pretty good, on me at least. I applied this on my hand 4 hours ago and have washed my hands twice since then and I can still smell it. Easy and safe blind-buy for those who love the clean girl perfumes. I really like it and think I will get the matching body cream!

Melrose Place was my gateway fragrance to clean and floral perfumes! It smells like a luxurious lychee and rose shampoo, perfect for the spring. It's soft and dewy without smelling like an antique floral perfume. For a clean smelling fragrance, it lasts the whole day and projects without becoming headache inducing. If you want to get into soapy floral perfumes, I'd highly recommend Melrose Place!

I really really like this. As a mainly vanilla girl, this was the perfume that opened my eyes to more floral/clean smelling scents. For the price, the longevity and projection is just ok. I like that this scent is more intimate, anyway. Makes it more of a "this is just what I smell like" fragrance than a perfume. Will definitely be repurchasing, just wish they came out with a bigger size!!

it's like burying your nose in one of those 100-piece peony bouquets and i love it upd: this brings me sooooo much joy. it's a mood booster - so energising and lively! in the opening, the combination of champagne, lychee, pink pepper and flowers immediately puts a smile on my face, then it dries down as a skin-after-shower scent. i'm obsessed. it might be my all time favourite.

A winner in its price class. Like sure it's not layered and sophisticated beyond a point. But Melrose is so fresh and joyous that I keep it for a certain kind of sunny day, to take long walks with friends, and to sit in parks and eat croissants. Great sillage, long lasting but conversely, I'd avoid it for work, at least if you work in a particularly corporate environment.

This fragrance smells soft, clean, and very feminine, yet still has some sparkly feel to it. If soft pink is a scent, this would be it. It’s not a unique scent, but it’s blended very well & smooth. Longevity is considerably weak, but I think it’s perfect for daily feel-good scent when you just finished your shower & want to feel femininely pretty.

very very clean and fresh perfume that makes me feel put-together. the sweeter elements die down a lot on my skin, resulting in a green-ish rose that i really love. i like how it's on the subtler side since stronger perfumes can overwhelm me, but it could definitely stand to have better longevity.

Absolutely gorgeous may rose fragrance. It's youthful, cheerful, and clean. It reminds me of classic floral profiles from the late nineties. This is a great value for the quality. How I wish more people smelled like this 🥹 I don't understand why influencers don't speak on Ouai fragrances.

I have died and gone to heaven. I can’t stop smelling this bottle. It’s so clean and luxurious, and smells 10x more expensive than it is when it warms to the skin. If I had to pick one scent to make me smell rich it’s this, but also youthful and so clean.

This is my favorite from this house. Beautiful, sweet rose-forward floral. I have the body wash as well. Other than this and St. Barts I’d say Ouai is not much to write home about. Still, it’s one I will keep in my collection for a long time.

Smelled this at work today and GOODNESS GRACIOUS this is all I’ve ever needed. I’m a huge fan of musky/dusty roses. This smells like rosewater or even Narnia.

Smells just like Guess for women, the pink bottle. But lasts much longer, a great alternative if you like that fragrance. Light, floral, easy to wear.
