Mercer Street

Smells exactly like fresh flowers on your vanity in spring...and is about as powerful as a summer breeze. The scent is nice enough if you don't spray too much (otherwise it becomes screeching quite easily), but is gone again after 10 minutes. Nothing left.

My mom just got the OUAI fine hair shampoo that is scented with Mercer Street. She smells so nice. At first when I caught a whiff of my mom, I thought the scent was a new lotion because it does have that clean, creamy lotion-y quality. When she informed me it was the shampoo I was pretty shocked, I don't think I've ever smelled a shampoo that was so to my taste- I find most hair products to be more fresh and fruity. Before looking at the notes, I assumed this was probably powder/iris, lemon, rose/peony and freesia. I don't actually know what freesias smell like in real life, but I find that a lot of fragrances with this soft, musky but distinctly floral aura and clean smell have freesia listed as a note. I don't really associate the type of floral in this scent with lily or magnolia, both of which I'm very familiar. The opening notes when you first massage the shampoo in your hair are a bit sharp and old school, so if you're contemplating buying the shampoo, don't judge it upon first sniff out of the bottle. Once your hair dries you will leave the gentlest, clean trail behind you that I can't imagine offends anyone. My mom still smelled amazing when she came home from work and hugged me, 12 hours or so after she washed her hair.

smells typical at the beginning but a bit more sophisticated after ~15 minutes. pretty bad sillage

I really like Ouai shampoo and conditioner but this scent is awful and I wish I didn’t have to smell it in my hair. Definition of “grandma” scent, too floral, too strong, too one-note. The lemon and orange notes are a lie. Just pungent generic stinky floral perfume.

I really wanted to like this perfume, but I had to return it. It's sharp, irritating and just awful. Way to heavy on the Lily and Rose. Try it first before a blind buy. A true scrubber!

Not a fan...it's screechy and lacks depth.
