Hôtel de Ville 193

Hôtel de Ville 193 is from 2021 and is part of the fragrances created for the male audience. The creative concept came from the place that works as the Municipal Headquarters of Paris, formerly called Place de Grève, which is part of historical movements and was renamed Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, on 03/19/1803. Hence, its name and the numeral that accompanies it. The perfumer says that the inspiration to create this fragrance was the Parisian man who walks through the typical places of Paris, dressed in an elegant way and leaving a trail wherever he goes. The intention was to create a fougère with modern elements and, therefore, instead of working with lavender, he decided to explore sage, which is also present in the L’Essence de Grasse accord. The composition lists notes of bergamot, cardamom, and grapefruit at the top; Sage, geranium, and black pepper, in the body; Cedar, Haitian vetiver, and Patchouli, in the base. But Fabrice also used pear, ginger, and moss. And as a result, more than a fougère, Hôtel de Ville 193 is aromatic and full of freshness. On the skin, the fragrance opens in a citrus and green way, matching the color of the bottle. Grapefruit and ginger exude exquisitely, while notes of cardamom and pepper complement each other, prolonging the spicy effect for longer. Geranium tries to bring out its floral and minty side, widely explored in aromatic creations with floral or musky subfamilies. But this time, the sage is the key ingredient in the formula and the perfumer has explored its lighter facets of tea to the fullest. The fragrance is linear on my skin, but the truth is that the evolution is very subtle. And after a while, vetiver reveals itself as the solid foundation of the olfactory pyramid. Undoubtedly, a hit for the male audience, not only for the quality but for the versatility it offers. Before closing, I think it's worth commenting on the various comparisons made between this perfume and Aventus (Creed). Particularly, I don't feel that similarity at all, since the latter has a fruitier opening, with very noticeable pineapple, and incense drying. The comparisons would make more sense, in my opinion, if they were made with the flanker, Aventus Cologne, which is much more citrusy and less smoky. Still, Hôtel de Ville 193 manages to exude more, projecting with more impact. If it is worth the advice, try it on in a store and you might find your next signature scent.

Usei um decant, no mesmo dia recebi dois elogios IGUAIS: cheiro de ''rico''. É um aroma muito bom, lembra a cor verde mesmo, fácil de agradar eu diria, mas não vejo sendo um favorito da coleção. Usaria muito para o dia a dia, uma ótima escolha!

Too spicy for me. After a while, it makes me think of a very old man who is proud of being elegant and clean, but accidentally applies too much cologne after his afternoon shower.

Fresh, clean, zesty, elegant, relaxed, manly but also a bit unissex. "Daddy on a Monday morning" mood. Love it!
