La Villette 470

La Villette 470 was launched in 2021 and is part of the fragrances created for the female audience. The creative concept speaks of Parc de La Villette, which is the largest park in Paris and was built on an area that was used for a slaughterhouse. The revitalization plan took place through an international competition that received more than 470 submissions, among which the project by Bernard Tschumi was chosen. This is the reason for the name of this perfume. Today, the park hosts many cultural events, for which Olivier Cresp has a certain affection. And it was thinking about the woman who goes to music concerts in La Villette that the inspiration for this modern chypre fragrance was born, reinforcing the French codes of elegance. In the composition, notes of mandarin, bergamot, and raspberry, on top. The body reveals notes of Sambac jasmine, rose, and orange blossom. At the base of the olfactory pyramid, notes of Indonesian patchouli, sandalwood, and praline accord were combined. La Villette 470 is a very refined fragrance. The perfumer insisted on reinforcing the use of high-quality raw materials and the imagined scenario is nocturnal. However, Brazilian women do not represent this inspiring muse of Olivier, because this is not the type of fragrance that our female audience consumes for night events, except for that group of women who exude elegance and frequent museums, theaters, restaurants, and private meetings between friends, where cold beer and loud music give way to champagne and the sound of the grand piano. On the skin, La Villette 470 explodes like a citrus juice sweetened by raspberry, which brings nuances similar to the rose, but is stickier. Then, Indian jasmine enters the scene and reveals its green and fresh facets, without giving up opulence. The rose here comes from “L’Essence de Grasse”, an exclusive oil composed of the Five Exceptional Harvests of Grasse, in the South of France: rose, lavender, mimosa, sage, and violet leaves. And to tell you the truth, I can feel the more aromatic side of the sage after a while, but it is very discreet and only exudes when the skin is warmer. The evolution is linear, and the patchouli brings sweeter nuances and a vertical finishing, which works very well in chypre compositions. By the way, La Villette 470 reproduces the same structure as other modern chypres already released but does not go overboard with fruits such as peach or black currant, in the output. The perfumer aimed at simplicity allied to quality and hit the nail on the head! The performance is excellent, and the fragrance is, in my opinion, easily shareable. And luckily for the brand, La Villette 470 may not even be the type of fragrance that Brazilian women usually wear at night, as Olivier Cresp imagined, but it fits perfectly on several occasions of daytime use, as it has versatility, it's not sweet, it's sophisticated and it works very well in our climate.

This is what I expected Thameen Cora to be, with that clean aspect more subdued. I really like it, it's a chypre with beautiful jasmine and patchouli, with hints of woodiness and sweetness. Besides that, all four female fragrances are designer quality and complexity, not at all niche, somewhat dupes to other already familiar creations. This is the least sweet and the prettiest out of all, I don't understand why they made the rest of them so cheap smelling.

I cant identify any rose in here. It's just a blast of toothache inducing sweetness. Generic, ok, good.
