Marshmallow Extrait

This is what I imagine a pink Parisian apartment to smell like. A princess lives there, she wears pink, drinks tea by the window, and everything around her is soft and delicate. It’s very pretty, very fluffy. I can see the similarity with Oriana and LDBS, but Marshmallow Extrait doesn’t have the civet or licorice notes that I personally dislike in LDBS, and overall it’s more vanilla-infused than Oriana. It’s clearly much more marshmallow. The scent is exactly what pink marshmallow would smell like. The rose isn’t dominant, it just adds that “pink” touch and a hint of freshness that keeps the sweetness elevated and elegant. It’s definitely a pink princess gourmand, and if you love that kind of fragrance, you’ll most likely fall head over heels for Marshmallow Extrait. I can totally imagine Caroline Stern being obsessed with this one. 💕

This actually goes beyond LDBS for me. It doesn’t have the dirty civet note or the licorice, and that really makes a difference. It’s also more gourmand, and you can really smell the vanilla way more. And honestly, in this economy, Marshmallow Extrait is $155 and LDBS is $295, basically double the price. Plus, for the price of one Kilian, you can get Marshmallow Maracuja too, and that one is an even better marshmallow scent in my opinion. So no, don’t skip it. If you love LDBS, you will definitely adore Marshmallow Extrait (and Marshmallow Maracuja)

although some think it smells like LDBS, i actually think this is an Oriana dupe. its fluffy and light instead of dense like LDBS. smells great for the price no matter which you think it smells like.

holy 90% accurate ldbs dupe. i just dont get any civet and its a bit more powdery than i expected. this and clean vanilla were my favorite out of all the samples i tried

So I do actually enjoy sweet perfumes and I think I'm partial to gourmands but this is just wee bit too sweet for me, personally. Maybe I oversprayed. That being said, I think this would work well layered with something not sweet. Maybe to sweeten up something a bit fresh or woody. But if you really want to smell like marshmallow go for this. It's super sweet and has a decent longevity.

Hard Pass. Overpriced Dupe. This is a straight up dupe of Kilian LDBS. It’s not 100% 1:1, but I compared them side by side, one on each arm, and it’s like 90-95% of the way there to my nose. I personally don’t enjoy LDBS (I don’t hate it either but it’s a strong meh for me and I can’t wear it long before it gets cloying for me), so I didn’t like this one either and I was disappointed that this wasn’t more original of a fragrance. It has nothing novel to say sadly. Even though I don’t love either, I do think LDBS is a superior, richer and smoother blend than Marshmallow Extrait with much better projection and longevity. So unless you really love LDBS and want more of nearly the same juice (or you want a less expensive dupe), I’d say skip this. Although this price tag for a dupe is *absurd* imo; you can get other dupes like Zara’s Ruby Infusion (or countless others) for MUCH less.

Bought samples from this brand, everyone that was avaliable, except marsmallow maracuja. This one smells very much like Love don't be shy, but without the spicy kick in the beginning and the animalic touch of civet in the base. It's fluffier like Oriana, but it does not smell like Oriana on my skin. Oriana is more sharp fruity citrus while love is more orange blossom marsmallow and caramel and dense compared to this. Otherwise, the same as love on my skin. I was instantly reminded of love when I sprayed it. Love is stronger, lasts longer and projects on me though, and this one does too, at least on me, but not as well and its a softer scent. Turns into a skin scent quickly though. This has a bit more prominent rose note compared to Love on my skin too. I prefer love from Kilian which I already have. 🙌🥰
