Marshmallow Maracujá

Marshmallow Maracuja is honestly one of the best marshmallow fragrances I’ve ever experienced. And I find it a bit redundant that every marshmallow scent automatically gets compared to Love Don’t Be Shy, this is nothing like it. This is an extremely smooth blend of soft sugared marshmallow with nectary fruits. I’ve never smelled this combination before, and I didn’t realize how much I needed it in my collection until now. The passionfruit is so gently handled, it feels airy and whipped, not loud or sticky like most passionfruit perfumes. Overose really did something incredible here. I think this might be one of the strongest fragrances in their entire lineup. Someone said it could easily sit in the Louis Vuitton Privée line and I completely agree, it has that lived-in, bright effervescence that sparkles off the skin and catches you off guard throughout the day. The price point is also excellent considering this easily competes with the $300+ fragrances out there. I’m absolutely not surprised it keeps selling out. Overose is starting a new trend with this one.

Love at first spray. I honestly don’t even know how to describe this scent because I’ve never smelled anything like it before, and it’s so layered and complex. This could easily fit into the Louis Vuitton line-up, it has that same modern, polished freshness to it. It has just the right amount of sweetness, like the soft texture of a marshmallow in your hand, and after you bite into it, there’s still a bit of powdered sugar on your fingertips. The maracuja isn’t tropical in that loud, syrupy way either. It gives a juiciness, a Brazilian va-va-voom, if you will. Not artificial at all. I’ve never smelled maracuja done with such a light hand and such precision. Then the extra guava comes through and it’s just... magic. I keep catching whiffs of it throughout the day and smiling. Completely obsessed.

This perfume honestly shocked me with how good it smells. I didn’t know I needed a tropical marshmallow in my life until now. It’s sweet, fluffy, and surprisingly strong. Usually, guava and passion fruit notes are way too loud and overdone for me, they tend to smell artificial or overwhelming. But here, it’s so perfectly blended that you can’t even tell where the guava ends and the maracuja begins. It’s just seamless and smooth, almost seductive, like being flirted with by a smooth operator Brazilian man. All the other marshmallow scents tend to smell like LDBS, so I’m thrilled they went in a completely different direction with this one. I really think this is going to become a huge hit once more people discover it.

Ok so I have “Love don’t by shy” by Killian and side by side this is extremely similar. No this isn’t an automatic comparison just because it’s a well known marshmallow scent as suggested above. I’m comparing it to this as to my nose, in the dry down, the difference is only very subtle. I asked my hubby which he preferred and he commented that they smelt exactly the same. Take from that what you will, smell them side by side and judge it for yourself. There is something about Marshmallow Maracuja that makes it a bit more special than LDBS though. The longevity isn’t great. I do get about 3- 4 hours wear. LDBS lasts a lot longer but it’s way more expensive and I do find it quite one dimensional compared to this. Marshmallow Maracuja is just that bit more interesting. If you have one you don’t really need the other. I personally prefer Marshmallow Maracuja. This is a gorgeous, happy, fruit candy, marshmallow scent. This, along with Vanille Tropicale (my personal fav) are easily the best scents from this brand so far. I will be selling my LDBS, because again they are too similar to me to justify keeping both.

I expected a sweet, marshmallowy scent, but this was a big surprise! It’s actually much more fruity than I thought, with a fresh, juicy passion fruit note that really stands out. It still has that soft creamy touch underneath, but it’s definitely not your typical sugary marshmallow perfume. Plus, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous!

I just received my full bottle today. I wish I bought a sample. To my skin, it smells like a rotten native guava, kinda B.O. I don't like it.

DISAPPOINTED!!!! DO NOT TRUST THE NOTES OM THEIR WEBSITE On the hunt for my next marshmallow fragrance I came across this one. As a woman who likes her marshmallow to actually smell like fluffy, sweet, jet puff, out the bag bag marshmallows I second guessed this one because of the name. Thinking hummm 🤔 isn’t Maracuja a fruit. Then I took a look at the notes (on their website) and instantly bought against my first judgement. Imagine my complete and utter disappointment when I finally got it and it is a freakin fruity, tropical fragrance. The fragrance doesn’t smell bad by any means but their notes list is a complete scam and marketing tactic. Not only are the notes listed here more accurate but the notes listed here are what the fragrance actually smells like. And of course it can’t be returned 🙄 If I wanted a marshmallow with this DNA I would have simply purchased Kilian LDBS (which I’m not a fan of). And then the price point for a 50ml is wild and not worth it. I heard that that their Marshmallow Extrait is a disappointment as well. I’m going to give this house one more chance and sample Angel baby and Hot towel club. But I tell you what DO NOT trust the notes on their website.
