Waikiki Pikake

Jasmine (and the white flowers in this scent) really is a hit-or-miss for some people. Jasmine loves my chemistry (thankfully - SOMETHING does!) but I feel bad for the people that it turns to mothball smell on, because they are missing out. If you don't know how jasmine smells on you, sampling this would be a good test, because it doesn't get much more jasmine than this. (I realize it it's technically pikake, but to me, the floral is all jasmine) Like one of the previous posters, I was a Love's Musky Jasmine junky in the 80's. This is pretty close. On me, there wasn't any citus or cedar - just jasmine and sandalwood. I love Pacifica Tunisian Jasmine at least as much as this one - maybe slightly more (I'm worried that it will be discontinued - "oh no! not again!") Frankly, I think that mixing Tunisian Jasmine with this scent might be the ultimate jasmine experience, as the almond in Tunisian jasmine adds beautiful character, and the sandalwood in this one is simply wonderful. This lasts and lasts on me - pacifica fragrances are such a great deal!

I absolutely adore this scent!!! To me t smells just like a seaside kingdom, I get a wonderful heady jasmine and a white musk scent along with sandalwood. Its a scent I have looked for , for a long time, I do not have the perfume but i have the body butter and the first word that comes to my mind is... AMAZING.If you love summertime flowers jasmine and tiare flowers then you will surely adore this.The lotion lasts all day at least on me it does, i dont even need the perfume, i think it would be too overpowering if i paired them, so i have my own personal supply of this fantabulous lotion.

I love Pacifica due to their use of naturals, and with this perfume - I had the solid - they have achieved the perfect light jasmine scent. I usually don't wear simple jasmine fragrances as I find it overpoweringly sweet and heavy, but this is light, just noticeable if applied at pulse points. It's easy to wear inside, in humid or hot conditions, or for workouts. The sandalwood is more of a hint, just to counter the floral note. Incidentally, the solids are some of the least comodogenic I have found, and are a perfect scented hair pomade or cuticle balm.

Really pretty and straightforward, not complex. I don't really get much sandalwood other than a powdery drydown, just florals - white flowers with a very green edge - like a dry white wine. Great price for the quality, like all Pacificas, just excellent. Lasting power is in the middle, not the worst or best. Got to say I prefer their Tunisian Jasmine, which is warmer and sweeter, a little more complex, and lasts a bit longer. Alas, I passed this one on, it didn't work ON me - smells better around me or on others near me. Love the peacock on the bottle!

I enjoy straight forward frags, as much as complex ones. Waikiki Pikake is simple and amazing. No indole! Exotic white jasmine and gardenia expanding in humid, tropical sweetness. I can’t get over how spectacular that is, layered over Ayres Sweet Nostalgy body butter (jacaranda, gardenia, apricot skin). That combination exalts the lush, heady fragrance of night-blooming flowers I’ve experienced in past travels. This is my first Pacifica purchase and I cannot be happier. The design and color scheme, from bottle to package, are adorable!

Loving my little solid of this! Gorgeous tin of balmy jasmine-y sandlewood - which pretty much sums it up. I also have the California Star Jasmine, I find this sweeter, a little more floral - Califoria has a more orangey woodsy feel, but I love them both - great for summer & great for travelling, possibly this one has more staying power, in the solid at least. So worth the money & would make a fantastic gift (as always) from Pacifica - just wish we could easily get the whole range in the UK - I have to look on Ebay or Amazon.....sighs

A discontinued but gorgeous tropical white floral that mentally transports me back to Kauai every time I wear it. Pacifica knocked it out of the park with this one. It smells and performs like a perfume 10x the price. When Waikiki Pikake became increasingly harder to find, I stocked up on some spray bottles, roller ball bottles, and the solid perfume in a tin. I wish they’d bring back this beauty.

Pikake is the traditional 'royal' flower of the native Hawaiians and was used in the making of leis and marriage beds - I smell the seductive tropical flower in addition to the jasmine (a relative) and sandal listed. A beautiful heady floral in the manner of Fracas and the original Tuvache Jungle Gardenia, but the lasting power is not as long as some rich florals.

This is my Good Morning Sunshine scent. Perfect with warm lemon ginger tea, the morning after a rain and something to read either outside or with the windows wide open. Pikake is it's own distinct jasmine, and just the right amount of sandalwood to dry it down from what is often a heady scent. Makes a great room spray in gloomy weather for a uplifting burst.

This fragrance combines my two ultimate favorite notes perfectly - jasmine and sandalwood. It's sublime and unique and this is a fragrance I get compliments on every time I wear it. I don't get some of the reviews here unless this scent mixes poorly with certain body chemistry because I just love this one!!

I absolutely love this scent!! I love the body butter, far better than the actual perfume. its more subtle.. the fragrance last a long time.. One of my new favorites!! plus i found an 8 oz body butter at TJmaxx for only 9.99!! Pacifica is an all around fantastic company!! <3 <3 <3

This is one of my all time favorite scents. I hve the solid perfume and when I wear it, which is often, I can't help but bury my nose in my wrist several times throughout the day. It's such a wonderful, heavenly scent and layers well with several of my other perfumes. I'm in love.

This tropical fragrance may be my favourite of the Pacifica range! I actually get mostly sandalwood from this, even moreso than the actual Pacifica Sandalwood scent. And of course the beautiful white florals remind me of Hawaii, or what I imagine it to be :)

This is the most realistic jasmine fragrance I know. I can even smell the nectar of the flowers, so real. I brought it blind and I'm very happy I toke the risk.

I agree with hollycat. I am a big Kai fan and I think I may like this even better! It's so lush, green and tropical-LOVE!

Very nice jasmine scent. Isn't overwhelming. Great for day time use and a day at the park. Light. Love it

Ok for starters and all the reviewers below: Pikake is Jasmine! Its real name jasminum sambac and more tropical and sweet smelling on its own. It is native to Southeast Asia and the national flower of the Philippines but they call it Sambaguita. NEXT - this is NOT indolic! When a jasmine is mixed with strong notes of musk you will get what they call indolic jasmine. Indolic refers to an animalistic scent and it is usually based on chemistry and other notes they mix with jasmine that produces that animal scent or rotting smell. Indolic Jasmine is a very strong scent and on some can tend to smell like fecal matter or straight up poop on your arm. So it is nice to try jasmine scents, and know if they contain musk or not. This scent is NOT indolic jasmine. This fragrance is delightful. I love the tropical sweet smell of Pikake (type of Jasmine). Pikake tends to come out heady and strong...somewhat sharp. But after a minute the sweetness of the pikake flower comes out, as it dries it becomes somewhat sweeter. It is a very tropical white floral scent. The sandalwood adds just a hint of depth keeping it from going too sweet. I love both this one and Pacifica's California Jasmine. They are both really nice. Different but similar -- this one is a bit more tropical and t really lasts a long time on me!

This is a very lush, tropical floral. Lots of white white flowers, mostly jasmine (love the jasmine) that I recognize. I have never smelled pikake before but I am guessing that the tropical headiness comes from the pikake. It starts off fresh and breezy then it warms up and becomes sweeter, more romantic as the day wears on. I thought it might be a nice light floral for day, but now I think it might be a bit heavy for the summer with the high humidity. It is so beautiful, warm and flowery though that I plan to wear it for evening or maybe special occasions. It is certainly a very special perfume, beautiful and lush. I have not smelled anything quite like it. I suppose Bell is right it is similar to Fracas but it has a lightness, a tropical feel that Fracas does not have. At least not on me. I am so glad that I bought this, it is lovely and different from anything I own.

I don't know the scent of pikake or hawaii, but this smells tropical. It's not much like the jasmine in our backyard (in California) or like jasmine tea, but it's a little bit like lemon blossoms, gardenias are the closest thing I know of. Very creamy and almost fruity-sweet rather than floral sweet, lush and tropical. It's a little heady, but never musty or overwhelming, I dislike heavy white florals, but I liked this. The drydown is very soft, still sweet, a little more floral and closer to jasmine, but not quite. I know Pacifica makes these to be layered, but gets pretty faint after about 30 minutes. Compared to their Tunisian Jasmine, Wakiki Pikake is definitely sweeter, more gardenia-like, tropical and almost fruity, while Tunisian Jasmine is much more like a dry jasmine tea. Both are sweet and richly exotic, but in very different ways.

Now this is jasmine! As it should be. Sultry, heady, warm, romantic. The balance it strikes with sandalwood is completely gorgeous. Its aroma is intoxicating This is a balmy summer night, thick with the scent of jasmine passing on a slow warm breeze. It is quite rich and absolutely floral - in the best way possible. Green but musky, smooth but sharp, it is velvety and encompassing. Very rich and completely natural. If you are shy of florals - this isn't the lighthearted blend for you. A superior jasmine. The sandalwood complement is perfection - it just softens the loud floral edge to a place where it becomes a dreamy sigh of satisfaction. Try the soap - it's fantastic!
