Imperial Wood

My first Pana Dora. I'll be honest, I'm a sucker for classy bottles and I found these beautiful in pictures (and holding it it's even more impressive). The idea of a perfumer of Syrian origin living in Sweden is also quite interesting. As it turns out, I find this is very much an oriental-like fragrance but with a great sense of rusticity from the Swedish countryside. The best of both worlds. What a great surprise, this turned out to be. This is spicy oud with warm woods and herbs with a touch of animalic from a leathery note. I was surprised at first because this seems to turn almost floral on me after a few moments (I'm guessing it's the thyme I'm smelling coming strongly off my skin). It's very pleasant, either way. After that, the spices blend in and it pushes out quite a bit for the first 2-3 hours, I had several people asking me what I was wearing and complimenting me, which surprised me since oud is usually divisive. Later on the smoke gets a bit denser but never becoming a full on smoke bomb either. I think the spices and leathery facets are elevating this quite a bit and making it less, well, "oud-y". And as someone who often struggles with animalic musk, there is none of that here. This is one for the colder months for sure, it's quite spice-centric and warm on the skin. Oh, as for the similarity to Red Tobacco, I can see that, the cinnamon here isn't as forward as in Red Tobacco and Imperial Wood isn't as sweet either but the spices do have a similar kind of vibe and both open quite potent (although take it with a grain of salt from me, unlike many, I never found Red Tobacco's opening to be harsh...). I'm surprised at the comments about the longevity, I have no problem myself. I easily get a good 7-8 hours and the first few hours it's quite potent and very pleasant in the air from what people have told me. For those who don't like oud, I'd say tread carefully but to my nose this isn't a fecal or unpleasant oud: this is very woody and spicy, not at all repulsive, just quite potent. I've been wearing this for over a week now and it's growing on me big time. Looking forward to exploring more from the house.

Oh. My. God. This is just... just incredible. I dont know quite how to put this scent in to words but wow just wow. Smells almost gourmand to me, maybe slightly hazlenutty to my nose im not sure but wow wow wow. This scent is an absolute masterpiece. I am defo folding and buying a full bottle of this because jesus. I thought i had found my endgame at Kropp&Sjal but this scent just came in and destroyed that idea completely. Another absolute banger from the house Pana Dora my rating--- 10/10 only thing i wish is that it was an edp so the projection was better but oh well

It’s a very long lasting, well performing gourmandesque fragrance. No one mentioned (except one) that this has a very prominent cherry-almond accord which stays in the middle of whole composition. I get rose and some woody accords but I can’t associate oud with those woods. I feel honey like accord (not extra sweet ) combined woth rose and cherry-almond is the major players of the fragrance. But it is always subjective to individual noses. Nevertheless very nice winter fragrance. I believe it is perfectly unisex.

Creamy wood, soft and calming, slight swetness. Very well blended, I love

Topnotes are like a floral "nectar", though the nectar feels more fruity than floral somehow, without smelling extreme or fake/chemically like most juicy-fruit undertones do. Must be the Safraleine and Olibanum/Amber. The leather, spices, wood, and chocolate are there. Really starts to dry down after the first few minutes, the sweetness is gone. Becomes a nice mature scent, not lacking in sobriety. Not heavy, not light. Seems very well balanced. Ultimately, I like it but don't love it; not a winner, but good!

This is very nice, and very middle eastern I would say. Opens up with a lod of spicy notes, tobacco and a blast of saffron. Maybe too much saffron for me but still good. It turns into a chocolate oud in the dry down which is very beautiful and more sweet than the opening. I like it! Not the best from Pana Dora, according to me, but still very nice!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite houses. I like this one. I dont smell instant crush at all. Sweet yet oudy throughout. I usually dont like leather but this has a smoky leather thats offset by some sweetness that just works. Could be cloying if sprayed too close to your face. go arms, back of neck, and you should be fine.

Opening reminds a lot of Richwood. But the drydown is very different, feels very spicy and somewhat sirupy with a cacao-cherry accord. Spicyness and woodiness remind some of Tauers work

Very spicy with an almost gourmand nuttiness to it, it’s rich in depth and solemnly has a resemblance to Mancera’s AOUD exclusif in the dry down. A very good cold weather frag. ❄️

It reminds me of oud incense burning on charcoal out side in the rain next to rotting wood it starts of nice then becomes just like toilet spray

To me this is not a tobacco forward fragrance. On me Imperial Wood develops a slightly nutty cherry facet (it’s like a dark not so sweet cherry with seed that has been crushed and mixed with cherry itself). I do get the oud and to me it’s a slightly medicinal type (perhaps it’s the oud with the cherry seed facet that mixes like this). The performance is not as good as the fragrances that I have previously tested from this brand. The sillage seems to be intimate. Probably my least favorite Pana Dora fragrance that I have tried so far.

The oud accord itself takes front and center, and it is very similar to the synthetic medicinal oud accord used in Mizensir Perfect Oud. But this is a different fragrance, made dark and buttery and covered in spicy saffron. It is fine, not amazing. 7.5/10

Smells life the morning after falling asleep making pretend-fancy drinks out of cheap Irish Whiskey and various Liqueurs. Sweet, spicy, and just heavy, like walking into an old speakeasy where everyone's smoking a cigar and wearing one-too-many sprays of a perfume.

Smells like a permanent marker

I'm getting a strong smell of a new beach ball or a water raft from the drug store. Honestly not sure if I can wear it yet. Aqua de Dora has a similar synthetic smell. I am leaning neither "like" nor "dislike." Quite different from what I consider great fragrances. You must try for yourself to make a judgement.

I just got this in, and though I’m not disappointed, I’m a little underwhelmed. It is quite similar to TF noir de noir, perhaps with the addition of Oud and less chocolate. Way way more powerful tho. Great frag if you like that style of perfumery

I get lots of rose, and spiced oud. Reminds me of noir de noir a bit. It’s very interesting and growing on me a lot, addictive.

Simply an incredible fragrance. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Pana Dora is such an underrated house.

TF Noir De Noir mixed with Mancera Instant Crush
