Skadi

Finally, some information about this one. I bought this about a week ago from a discounter and couldn't find anything about it anywhere. I'll preface by saying I've only worn this once fully so far so I may not be picking up all the nuances just yet. So like with all other Pana Dora this has quality and strength. As others have mentioned elsewhere, and I agree, the choice of woods and musks they use specifically are very good. Here is no different. Someone mentioned it possibly being a Guidance riff, i dont find them similar though. Guidance is more milky/nutty sweet rose and denser. This is an Ambrette bomb in the opening. Very soft powdery musk . It's the core of this fragrance. Floating around in the Musk cloud is Green apple and Pear. The Green Apple never really goes sour or super sweet like so many green apple notes. This is more like unripe apple. The Amyl Salicylate could definitely be a contributing factor here giving the "unripe" feel since its said to have an unripe banana smell. Im not extremely familiar with this note to say one way or the other yet. Same with the Pear, that dull watery slightly sweet aroma they have. The green fruits intertwine so well that sometimes the apple is standing out while others I'm getting more pear. In the mid a powdery olibanum comes forth along with a little Saffron and Rose. Mind you , I'm searching, these aren't that readily available as the Ambrette, Ambrettolide and Halvetolide are really driving this thing. In the drydown you could say Hazelnut comes out a little but it's the far drydown and it's faint. I don't really get Citrus or Labdanum at all with this one. Maybe a touch of vanilla in the far drydown. Overall a pleasant scent for Spring mainly, Summer nights. It's a powdery musky bomb IMHO. I like powdery scents so I'm good with that however some might say it leans feminine or old lady . I think to the untrained masses you will smell like someone who showered with an Apple/Pear soap and powdered up afterwards. Not the most complex scent from PD, but good quality and blending. An easy reach male or female. Performance is solid, loud projection for 2 hours and going on 12 hours longevity, albeit a skin scent now at around 12. Also worth noting, nothing jumped out at me when smelling this as far as what it's similar to and that's always a good thing.

Very very unique, the opening -> dry down actually matches the accompanying story. Ultra High quality ingredients, absolutely amazing bending. I've not smelled anything quiet like this before, Mr Al Zoabi is clearly a genius, an absolute genius, this is my second from the house (Along with the amazing Grand Musk), and I've got Orchestra and Oud Republic on the way, all 4 FBs and blind buys as I always do, and will review the other two when they arrive, however I have one gripe and it's not a small one; the sillage/projection on this now is a bit abysmal considering the oil concentration, which upsets me as it's an amazing fragrance, but I've not heard that anyone else has had the same experience, not that there are many reviews on this one out there and it's pretty new. UPDATE: after a few days of wearing this, and a few days of it sitting, settling down, the fragrance has grown a slight bit denser, whilst retaining it's icy nordic character that comes across to me as though they were galloping Nordic ghost horses — wow, just wow 🔥 I've also noticed that it can be gently layered with other like styled, and not contrasting fragrances. I layered it with Roja's enigma and it simply complimented Skadi's galloping ghost horses and added Jasmine to them, and gave it a boost, amazing. I've since gone and ordered Scandic as well, to see if it carries a similar weight of character like Skadi. This perfumer really can create not only a fragrance, but an actual environment, a feel, a place that you are taken to. If you are simply after a fragrance that smells nice, then you probably wont appreciate this, however if you want a feeling, a mood, a place to be taken to, then this will do the job, all along making you smell great.

Just had to get it. After some wears here ́s my thoughts: Its really nice n peaceful, not loud and offensive at all. First 10 mins = Citrus Mosquito spray haha, then it develops into a beautiful fresh Apple, Rose and Osmanthus frag. So Floral-Fresh is what it is. Clean Vibes! This one needs some time and bodyheat to fully bloom out, like 1h. 70/30 Feminine I would say. Spring, Summer and Autumn. Sadly I dont get any Hazelnut that would be cool, but I do get some Moss. Long and sillage is ́nt great might be the weakest of the Pana Doras (not everything has to be loud) but the last dry down with sweet Saffron, Vanilla and Rose will stay a long while as a skin scent. Scent: 7,8/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10

This is what the end of summer smells like in Nynäshamn by the Baltic Sea. This is exactly what the late August fog smells like. The Swedes really know how to make perfumes—they are excellent at it. This scent is, above all, perfectly blended. It is definitely not a fruity or fresh fragrance; rather, it is like the cool water of the Baltic Sea—without the seaweed, of course.

An amazing clean soapy scent that dries down to a soft gentle musky tone. Doesn't remind me of anything else, although I dectect a tinge of Chanel DNA. Maybe Chanel 1957.

Absolutely loved it. Smells SUPER clean, calm, luxurious and expensive. Loved every bit of it.

I general like many fragrances from Pana Dora, but Skadi is a miss for me. I clearly smell a throw back to an old-school men’s cologne with an aromatic herbal note. I also get a modern molecular vibe that I am not a fan of. It does somewhat convey a cold, empty, quiet quality, so maybe fitting for what it was ment to evoke, but I certainly would like more sillage. The projection and sillage are minimal, but I do have very cool skin type so it may be me. The longevity is also not there for me, but again many modern molecular scents do not perform well on my skin. I will give it a try in warmer weather, but so far I’m not impressed.

yeah I don't know about this one. IMO this is something for a old lady, nothing cold or fresh in this, just powdery floral mix. For old ladies.

Yuk.. Tried it yesterday on skin. The first hour was ok, very feminin, reminded me of my aunt. But after an hour or two it took a turn for the worse, very chemical, off putting. 3/10

Opening with sweet pear and hazelnut, then I got rose with peachy osmantus and ambrette, and then I realised that this reminds me of guidance... The notes look it was trying to copy Guidance... They are very different, especially in the drydown. I own Guidance and I prefer it, but I also do enjoy this one. However, this brand overall is not for me. I got the full collection of samples and paid an arm and a leg for it because of the good reviews, but my general impression is that these perfumes are a little bit too classic/vintage/too many things going on for me. I did like some but none was a clear love... I do get why some people would be fans though

First impression: This is Another 13 meets Chanel soap + sweetness overdose. Immediately reminded me of Another 13, Add a somewhat old school soap (think of Chanel Exclusif line) but with a modern sweetness. The more time passes the less soapy it gets, Until you are left with the sweet amber base, not typical amber at all. Was too sweet and cloying for me. Haven’t smelled something this interesting in a long time. First impressions was “wtf”. Unisex but on the sweeter side.

this is VERY similar to D&G pour homme. im surprised noone pointed this out. it kinda has a "cold" smell to it, its weird. i get that same smell from D&G pour homme. not bad, nothing special. glad i was able to get these on a heavy discount.
