Icy Citrus

A big Panah fan now... Bought this with Gourmantic Orange, Brandied Pear, Pineapple Essenza and a number of Panah samples. All smashingly gourmand with a high demonstrative ethos. All high quality all designed to last. With the exception of Gourmantic Orange they are designed as long lasting personal scents rather than impressing a room. This on the long dry down this is a copy of Gourmantic Orange except with lemon. So a beautiful natural lemon with a candied sweet rind thanks to the vanilla and creamy woods. The impressive joy though is the opening. The first minutes to maybe hour there is a menthol or rather just detectable camphorous vibe on top giving it that cool ice cube feel (I am certain this is a note or ingredient not listed) with maybe the spices just under neath that. This fades so that a couple of hours in you get a slight piquancy, a slight peppery (white pepper) on top. Gorgeous - does what it says, very gourmand - not designed to overwhelm, just lurk constantly in the back ground. I can still see a thick sheen of oil on my skin in the sun two hours later. I can only think of Xerjoff Dolce Amalfi that comes anywhere near close. That’s better possibly but Xerjoff is more like a tricked up AMG Mercedes S class opposed to Rolls Royce Phantom. Well done Panah.

Icy Citrus is one of the sensational perfumes IMHO created While there is nothing spectacular about how it smells ( a combination of citrus and gourmand elements) what matters is the the element of surprise in the form of menthol cooling. Well it is not actual menthol but minty vibe for few seconds which fades away quickly. Panah claims the fragrance will induce cooling sensation and it did. Sprayed 5-7 sprays before my gym and the cooling immediately triggered as I drenched with sweat. The fragrance immediately uplifted my mood . What an impressive offering. Huge relief for summers in particular.

This fragrance is cooling, but that's literally it. It don't understand why it's so highly rated. I can get a cooling body mist and feel the same way AND smell a hell of a lot better. This smell itself is borderline like vics vapo rub. SO not worth $135. If there was more of a pleasant smelling backbone, I'd be down though. I love panah london, but this is a pass for me.
