Annone

This fragrance is not about a fruity mango. It's about a really wearable oud and saffron combination. Has this been done before? Yes. Is this one good by any means? Oh, definitely. I'll start by saying that the scent is really well blended. Initially, the saffron and rose are the front runners standing firm on top of a really nice oud. You might get the mango in the opening but very faintly. I'm not sure about the iris or the bergamot, maybe those are really meant to bring depth and character, but I think those notes are present in a very small amount as I cannot smell them. The cypriol oil is noticeable if you know how to look for it and gives a very green, aromatic and almost balsamic vibe. Not medicinal, not animalic, just very deep, sexy, mysterious and easily "unisex" (but definitely not suitable for the girly pop/clean girl aesthetic) The performance is nothing to be worried about. Good projection for 3-4 hours (you will definitely leave a trail behind you) and stays for more than three days on fabrics. However, it won't blast everyone around you. It lingers in an elegant manner in the air and makes people that surround you curious about what smells so good. In my opinion, colder weather suits it the best. P.S. underrated date night fragrance that makes your eyes roll to the back

This to me is a must have, I am enjoying my 100ml extrait de parfum to the fullest! Quality wise it's just perfect, longevity hours and hours on skin, on hair and garments it stays for days. Projection and sillage are also amazing! Me and my husband both use it as it is a perfect unisex fragrance. Loving it! I have to say this is one, if not the best performing fragrance in my collection. I have some by Memo Paris which are now even more pricier than before (and than Annone) and they don't stand a chance next to Annone. On the days when I just need a little extra rose, I layer it with Rose Magnetic by Essential Parfums. Excellent fragrance of the Italian brand Pantheon Roma, opens with tropical and spicy fruity hints thanks to the presence of saffron in the head that gives it spiciness and mango and bergamot that gives it fresh tropical hints, the heart of the fragrance is flowery and feels very giving to the composition further freshness and brightness. The oud basically gives it character and persistence but still remains enough of the background without being too present, at least on my skin it tends to stay on a fruity / flowery / spicy line that I don't mind at all. I really like the perfume in its entirety and I absolutely recommend it, a little gem to put in the collection, persistence and quality of raw materials more than excellent in my opinion

This is a powerful, feminine, mango oud delite in every way. If you have this fragrance you'll rarely want to wear brk540 or OFG, neither compare with originality,longevity and projection. Every single time that I wear it to work I get compliments the entire day as though I just sprayed it. I'm so glad that this niche house is on the low because I'd hate for it to be the next hyped up ridiculous push from fragrance reviewers & next thing you know 60% of the population has it, omg that just kills me! A 9.5 out of 10 for me, I didn't give it a 10 due to the darkness of the bottle/ I can't see the amount of product. Lastly nothing about this fragrance speaks male to me, not a masculine man anyway.

Extremely powerful perfume. I wore this at the office using 3 sprays (one on the back of my hand) a few times and my colleague told me he could smell it since he entered the room like 6 or 7 meters away. It smells special, and doesn't feel feminine on me. Sometimes I wish it wasn't so potent, 50ml will probably take a long time to finish given the fact there are also other perfumes to wear. The spray on the back of my hand could be felt the next morning as well. Exceptional quality, but the smell is not for everyone! Also it tends to somehow "sting" a bit, especially in the opening.

Sunny and honeyed tropical fruit without the latex note that I often get from mango/guava. Heads into a soft buffered rose with powder touches and a woody backbone. I don’t perceive any oud, if it’s there, it’s clean. The saffron blends into the honey and hardens as the fragrance dries down. My small 3ml decant will likely become a larger decant. Currently wearing in early winter and it really suits the season whilst bringing a touch of golden sun to the day. Solid performer and definitely feminine leaning unisex on my skin.

This is the cleanest oud and amber perfume I’ve ever smelled. It’s warm but fresh, and not too fruity. I’d say it’s perfect for someone that likes clean, sweet fragrances with an oriental twist. The saffron gives it a slight spice that isn’t overbearing. It’s nothing like mfk450...not sure why people are saying that. This is a head turner for sure. I get stopped on the street and asked about it. This is signature scent worthy. I hope they never stop making it. Stocking up now.

For a lover of oriental fragrances, Annone by Pantheon Rome is the fifth essence of absolute perfection. This is just wow! magnificent creativity. Perfect for cooler weathers and during night outs. Such an unique fragrance that will definitely stand out in a crowd. Niche quality stuff and I bet no one will be smelling like you. monstrous performance and scent trail, you will need only 3 to 4 sprays maximum. Much much better than BR 540. very much unisex. great value for money!. I will rate this as one of my top 5 scents of all time.

There is something about this fragrance that makes me completely incapable of not smelling my wrist. I can’t get enough of it....the oud is so incredibly interspersed throughout the life of the fragrance....the extrait version is to die for and I just found it a shop in Tallinn.....if I was only allowed to use three fragrances moving forward this one would be in there....pure craftsmanship of the highest order...

This is 95% identical to Gold Immortals by Ex Nihilo, except Pantheon was first. Annone is a bit sweeter, smells like honey, but other than that they are the same perfume. Gold Immortals was my signature, I feel betrayed lol.

This is a beautiful fragrance, it reminds of me Oud Maracuja, but instead of maracuja it is mango, and there is also a very strong but not as animalistic musk after a few hours.

It literally smells nothing like Mancera Instant Crush. Not one iota.....👇🏻

Honest review: Very long lasting fragrance, i get noseblinded veryyyy quickly but this is what i pick up: a very Oriental fruity take on oud, yo get this saffron and mango punch in the opening that blends quite well with a sweet a bit skanky oud i get the rose and the musk but tey are overpowered by this oud that really takses over the whole scent, i wouldn't say it is well blended because of this particular reason. I do feel like a bit more of rose would have been better. still a very solid fragrance. Do not get the iris at all i'm sorry. does it gets yo compliment ? Yes plenty, very wearable oud but not for every nose and that makes it a very precious fragrance that differentiate yo from the mass. The bottle and presentation are really good especially the packaging really premium feel to it. Heavy cap. Is it long lasting ? Yes as i've said super long lasting but at the same time i do not feel this huge sillage, i would say in the contrary it sits close to your skyn. it last about 12 hours and is eternal on clothes. though yo will not feel it after 2 hrs because yo get noseblinded super quickly, unfortunately because i like getting wiffs at my scents.. :( Is worth the price: Yes but at the same time i wouldn't say it is a must have. Is it original ? Yes and no, if this is your first rose oud fragrance, Yes, also for the masses will be quite unique. it is def not original though for someone who's gone through plenty of oud fragrance, instead it feels a bit redundant as a rose oud saffron combination, high on oud and saffron. A bit synthetic, the oud is a bit strange i fell like it has a bit of naturals to it though i recon it has some synthetic parts to it. Mark: 8.0/10

A few things you should know but no one else has mentioned: 1. This is a rose-prominent fragrance. I am amazed that none of the reviews below mention this. It is a fruity/vanilla rose, as opposed to the sharp, cloying and powdery rose tones of other fragrances, but it is still rose, so if that is a no-no for you, look elsewhere. 2. While many reviewers say this is not feminine, most of the reviewers are female. This is not something that a macho American marine-guy is going to want to smell like. But a European guy who goes to the opera or art galleries could do very well with this. 3. Several people mentioned that there is a strong oud element. I am an oud wimp (as well as a rose and iris wimp), but this is blended so well that none of those notes bother me. 4. This is not like BR540 though the underlying profile has some similarities. Much less oud than OFG. 5. I used 3 decant sprays and it projected quite strongly for the first three hours. Lasted on my clothes for days. Powerful stuff. Using more than 3 sprays would be a big mistake, and those around you would NOT appreciate it. 6. This is not an everyday fragrance. It is too unique. It is definitely not a blind buy. My 5ml decant will likely last me a lifetime. I understand the love, but I also understand the hate. Not a lot of middle ground for a fragrance like this.

This one was a bit of a chameleon for me: - SUMMER (first test): Doesn't smell like what I expected it to, from the notes. It's just kind of "perfume-y". A bit floral, a bit non-descript fruity...quite meh. Definitely better in the cooler air. - WINTER (second test): Smells gorgeous! Sweet and a little woody, and a lot "mysterious". Actually, after wearing it for a few hours, I realised that it really is smelling very similar to BR540! I never would have believed it, having tried it in the heat first! (Testing from a sample vial from a reputable company.)

A wonderful opening with mango, rose and florals that stays long on the skin and is easy to wear. Cozy and suitable even for warmer weather. Oud is not annoying but it is quite linear. Nothing wow here but it sure is a great quality

Not getting any BR540. Straight up Oud for Greatness-ish with a touch more sweetness. Not as loud, not as strong, in my opinion not as good. It is a fine fragrance but unnecessary if you own OFG. Already sold my bottle.

This smells almost identical to Faïsa by Ramon Monegal but less sweet and with a fresh mango instead of raspberry. Very long lasting with great projection and smells expensive!

To me this smells reminiscent of Xerjoff Erba Pura, not BR 540 as others have suggested. Because fruit.

This reminds me of Gritti's Duchessa, but with mango instead of cherry. I really like it!

Very reminiscent of Monegal’s Faisa. So much so after spraying the sample and forgetting about it I thought it was Faisa. In the end this a mediocre DNA been done before. Both this and Faisa have really good performance. So if ur looking for a fruity saffron rose oud bomb either option will do. Might smell unique in Europe or the US. In the GCC this feels dated tbh. Scent 7/10 if i’m being kind maybe a 6 Sillage is 8/10 Value at discounters for around $110 meh not bad Given this would be a fall winter scent I can think of tens or hundreds of better options.

I bought this fragrance conviced by the hype and the insane amount of positive reviews... and right now I am indeed quite puzzled. The scent is mediocre at best, with an embarassing persistence and a disappointing projection. I simply love oriental scents, but honestly I think at this point that the majority of good reviews were from people who actually never tried the perfume or have a hard time to admit that they wasted their money

Disappointed. Was hoping for oud-rose-saffron with a meaningful twist, but it’s just Arabians Tonka. Prefer Arabians Tonka as a scent (that one is slightly smoother IMO if you can believe it), and that’s before factoring in price.

i feel this is just the fragrance you would get if you find oud satin mood too sweet. same oud with rose but less sweetness

The bottled soul of a dancing elephant.

Not exactly what I expected. I'm trying hard to get even a hint of the olfactory experience the notes above suggest, but it is a far reach. The perfume opens with a harsh masculine punch, and doesn't soften much after that. It is marketed as unisex, but really this is a fragrance for men. And though I have many unisex and even masculine-leaning perfumes, this one I wouldn't wear (too bad I bought a bottle) because it's really quite an outlier that unisex category - very far into the masculine end of the spectrum, alongside the vetiver and lavender-heavy fragrances. This must be due to the concentrations and relative balance of certain notes - bergamot, cypriol, and possibly the saffron.. I don't get much rose, iris or oud, or anything "animalic" (which is how the perfume was described in articles prior to its release). Power, projection and longevity are phenomenal, though. I sprayed a single time and could still fully smell it, not only on my wrist, but also in the room many hours later with no noticeable weakening. If only all of my perfumes could behave this way. The presentation is beautiful as always. I'm a fan of Pantheon Roma, and based on the notes Annone looked amazing, but it ended up being one of my major blind-buy mistakes. edit: I wanted to give this one all chances possible, because I hate the thought of dismissing something after only one or two tries, especially a creation from a house I love. I tested again this morning with the smallest spritz possible - this stuff is so strong, the tiniest bit is enough. I tend to overspray, and with this perfume it was a disaster. I could still smell it in my nose after washing off the first time. It is just that powerful. With a very small dose, though, I can enjoy it much more and some of the softer floral notes come out, which are completely overridden by the sharp opening when sprayed too liberally. In my opinion it is still quite masculine-leaning, but less so when sprayed in small amounts.

When someone clicks the "dislike" button on something with zero reviews, it would be helpful if they would leave a simple comment or two in that review section, to help those of us who are interested in the fragrance but deterred by the dislikes. This perfume looks amazing, and I own (and enjoy) two others from the house, but now I'm hesitant to purchase this.. The notes and pyramid suggest something possibly amazing.. Wish I could find someone who has actually tried this fragrance and has something to say about it!

This fragrance has a note that bothers me soooo much, it's a woody note that you can smell in many Montale and Manera perfumes in the deep dry down. Apart from that obnoxious note, it's a very good perfume. I think it would favor men more than women, in my personal opinion. I would say it leans masculine. And, yeah, it has Baccart vibes, but it has nothing to do with baccarat, it's quite a different fragrance, frutier and more masculine with a touch of Montale's perfumes DNA.

Wow thats strong retro vibe. Heavy rose with jasmine, overripe mango, that will nail you to the ground...maybe even to the wall. It's a sour, brutally old strong brew. Not spoiled, but heavily worn from generation to generation, an inherited coat in a once gaudy color that you only wear today to a fancy dress with ball gown.

Ooofff, no. This one is just one more example of why oud/saffron ain't my jam. I'd say that this is DEFINITELY not a safe blind buy. If they tell you there's oud in here, believe them LOL. Annone came with the discovery set. I'm loving Trastavere though!! Just because Annone isn't my jam, I can still say that this is a well done fragrance if the notes appeal to you. I get nothing tropical, just big bad oud! YMMV though. I know many do like this one.

Got a free sample from maxaroma. This stuff is garbage, it has that sharp synthetic note that's in most cheap br540 dupes and some of the Tiziana Terenzi fragrances. Also, it does not go away and stays on forever. I don't know how people even like this. Don't blind buy this, I threw my sample in the trash.

Absolutely awful, it is full of aromachemicals , like bacarat rouge. It is disgustingly sweet and sticky, it overpowers everything

The recollection was not immediate; the journey started with two shy sprays, "is this the real oud, is this just fantasy?" The fruits are there, but this isn't the Garden of Eden, so they're not front and centre. I wish they were. This hint of real oud with some rose was short-lived; more and more, my wrists resembled Oud for Greatness. Or BR540, depending on how the waft of saffron hit me. I sense both in this. Let's drain the rest on the shirt and body, pull out its real character. "Annone" - first association: anonymous (not the movie from 2011, though it is a great one - and that poster, a work of art). Google search: two options: Hindi for "unknown" - in line with the first association; or some Italian rant about anuses (!) and elephants... Brand page confirms. The inspiration is a white elephant brought to Rome in the 16th century, dubbed Annone. "Anne": Malabar for elephant. "Annone": Big Anno (big elephant) in ItalianMalabar. In Italian: "Anno": year. "Ano": anus. "Anone": big anus. Source: some rando on the Net. I kinda wish this smelled like anus. This way, with all the possibilities of endless lists of notes, accords, materials, natural and synthetically derived from naturals, they opt for a variation on the well-established theme. Endless greatest ouds for Alexanders among us, but there can be only one Alexander. I am Jack's Disappointment. Instead of blazing a new trail akin to Hannibal's crossing of the Alps on elephants, they retread the same, tired, infinitely beaten paths. You don't need this if you, like I, already have 4 clones of Oud for Greatness, including the Eternal Wood by Mancera. This is too expensive for a clone. Suggested retail: €40, in line with Lattafa's and Zimaya's of the world. That's the third or fourth sample from this brand, and all of them I found, either too feminine and perfumey, or somehow disappointing. Pass. Drydown edit: pending. Pended: After about two - three hours, the Oud for Greatness feeling subsides and the fruits reappear, mango to be precise. This part reminded me of a tame Oud Maracuja. Bumping the suggested retail to: €90. Still wouldn't buy.

Annone: a fragrance that grabs attention, which stands out, known by most ... a bit like the "character" from which it draws inspiration: the white elephant Annone, donated by the Portuguese king to Pope Leo X, who apparently he is buried under the Vatican. The sources of the time spoke of him as an extraordinarily intelligent animal, he became a "mascot" in the papal court and was the protagonist of the processions in the city; he was often carried around the streets of Rome, arousing curiosity and admiration as he passed . Unfortunately after a few years he died, and among the artists who commemorated him there was also Raffaello Sanzio , with a painting unfortunately lost. It is certainly an imposing fragrance , dominated by the note of saffron which is accompanied by all the other scents , making it so sweet and opulent , with a long trail and duration . I liked it, but in my opinion it is not to be worn every day: due to its great personality, it would risk tiring, I also see it as much more suitable for cold seasons. As for the painting that I would match well ... fortunately the Annone portrayed by Raphael was copied in a notebook by Francisco of Holland, so this splendid dedication to this equally splendid animal remains with us.

Annone was on my list for a long time and at last, I found a perfect party to wear and test this perfume. The amount of compliments I got was just epic... Every single person that I got to talk to said something nice about my perfume. If you want to enter a room and be the person who fills the whole surroundings with their perfume... THIS IS IT. Oh my God, this is beautiful, why I haven't worn this long ago, this would have made me so popular :D Amazing perfume. AMAZING! This is not similar to Baccarat or Oud for Greatness, but if you mix those two you might get something like Annone. This is unique stuff I'm telling you guys. It's fruity luminous Oud scent that just projects its magic so so so well. And not a lot of people are wearing this so it still feels unique and original. No one could quite smell it and tell what it is if they haven't tested this perfume themselves. I don't have enough words to describe this magic. BEAST Mode compliment getter, sexy perfume, totally perfect for a night out, no matter what season it is worth a super amazing night out in the city with all lights and dark sky glory. So sexy oh my god!!!!!! You guys you have to try this stuff!

The quality is certainly there with this one. Just got a bottle in and I'm here for a review. The oud and rose are delicately balanced and very nicely blended. I could tell this reminded me of something when I sampled it on skin and it hit me- Bond No 9 Signature Scent. Both are rose/Oud scents, but Bond is more sparkly and effervescent while this one is not. A lot of people marked this is unisex/male leaning, but I think it's more female leaning. I think it's best meant for formal events, or perhaps even daily wear in the work environment. Also best meant for colder months, but versatile enough for all months except the hottest ones. I did give it to my wife because I know she likes it a lot more than me (she actually loves it, while I like it). It's actually a beautiful scent, but it's not my style. I can see where people say it's similar to BR540- but it's different. The oud makes it slightly more earthy. Again, I can really tell the quality is there with this one. I just can't comment on the longevity because I've just sampled it on skin about 15 minutes ago.

Upon initial spray, this smelled like a modern grandma. Maybe I had ben smelling roo much and didnt do enough breaks in between. I smelled it later in the day and it was nice. This isn't really the scent profile I pull for. Leans a little feminine but unisex. I will say this for the line though...this lasts and has excellent sillage. Not a fan of the ubiquitous rose oid fare and well...this is yet another. Do with that as you will. 3/5

Definitely DISREGARD any of these comments saying this is a "feminine" fragrance. It does resemble OFG both in scent and performance. As a 'manly man" any guy can pull this off. One of the most annoying things on fragrantica are people trying to gatekeep fragrances as being feminine or masculine. Its completely unisex and will get you compliments from women and men. It literally smells like OFG.

Just got this today and have had it on for about three hours now. Wow! This is powerful. But somehow not obnoxious at all. Found a perfect fall fragrance, so happy with this! On sale now on scentsplits.. fyi.

I have just purchased this in Harrods and it is delightful. It is somewhat Oudy but also sweet and spicy. I get the rose and maybe vanilla. Definitely a niche fragrance.
