Super metallic and almost smoky opening, but dries down into a sweeter citrusy boozy scent. I love the whole experience. Projection is just alright but it seems to last a long time on me.

Metallic. Citric. Bold. Boozy. The hot summers sun beats down on you and your friends during a day trip downtown. The heat of the sun begins to heat up the copper wires on the telephone poles, the orange margarita pitcher you're drinking, and the warm black asphalt. There are good times to be had by all, and as always: life is good. As soon as you spray this you are smacked in the face with this sharp, copper-y, metallic flash contrasted with this wonderful juicy, boozy orange squeezed overtop. As it dries down it loses the super in your face, sharp like a knife metallic facets in favor for a more dulled down mineralic asphalt like accord to my nose and the boozy orange becomes more nuanced and smooth. Probably my second favorite from the brand, right behind the beauty that is Nimbis, if not only for the limited usability of this fragrance for me. I typically really like metallic/mineralic fragrances, but I don't think they really fit my personality so I rarely seek a full bottle. This one might change my mind later this summer, as the contrast of this super sweet, boozy orange on top of that metallic zing is super nice. Would recommend if you are into metallic like scents. Moderate projection and performance, but would be potentially overbearing to me if it was more potent. 8.7/10

There’s an unlisted note in here— I’m not sure what it is— which Diptyque’s Eau des Sens shares. Combined with the orange note they smell very similar indeed, but I prefer Eau des Sens. Solis is sweet and less green.

Testing blind I got a good sense of bright, almost astringent, yet dry floral and background oudy feeling. Felt far more bold after and hour or so. Looking at the notes now, their website says, "Electric Orange, Oxidized Copper Coins, Molten Lava, Flaming Rum". I don't know about flaming electric orange lava here, but the oxidizing copper does ring true, much like the mineral notes of a rock, with some citrus top notes. Really the best generalization is a really good smelling swimming pool with blooming citrus around. While not my thing being a little too "clean" feeling, it is enjoyable and with great longevity and projection (being almost strong), making the price point quite good. A great find for someone any summer.

Metallic, resinous, and boozy. The orange comes across kind of old, almost dried. Smells like slices of orange and old pennies were left in alcohol for so long that they concentrated the liquid. It's an art piece but totally wearable.

My first thought was that I wished they made a 100ml of this. Art in a bottle. What we have here is a cosmic orange? Not even sure how to explain this one. It's definitely orangey, but not in the bright/citrus way you might think. There's an almost electric/metallic old penny note that blends very well with the orange and gives it this phantom-like ethereal whisp reminiscent of orange dust, but not powder. Imagine the full scent of the orange with no juice and no harsh orange peel. The rum is felt, but only faint. More like a compliment. The star of the show is that metallic orange note and the lava is more imagined but I see the reference point. There's a lightly scorched metallic undertone in the dry down. Beautiful composition and one of the more unique fragrances in my collection. Definitely a repurchase when it runs out, I mean you can't go wrong for $85 on a 30ml. This can be worn any place, anytime, in any season. It's an all purpose signature type scent that's non-offensive and feels like something everyone would enjoy. I'm not the biggest fan of citrus and I hate that it's in everything, sometimes overpowering a note I hoped would have more focus, but it's just so well done here and has great lasting power/projection on my skin. That's something I personally struggle with, especially with citrus notes, where my skin just drinks up the fragrance really quick. Solis sticks around for a while and I feel like my quest to find the perfect orange for me can come to a happy end now, I finally found it. Leans masculine and surprisingly for a citrus you can expect over 7+ hours of longevity with slightly above moderate sillage. Not beast mode per se but people will certainly smell you.

¿How is this possible? The official site states “Electric Orange, Oxidized Copper Coins, Molten Lava, Flaming Rum” and as silly as it seems, they are completely accurate! Sweet boozy juicy lava! There are many versions of orange in this fragrance! At first, a citric blast right to the face and immediately it’s the sweetest juiciest bright photo realistic orange ever. Then it smelled like glossy neon orange candy as it transitioned to a brûléed orange. The brûléed orange part is when you get the sweet molten lava accord, the soft brûléed crust withholding a soft smooth juicy boozy accord. The dry down is a very sweet nostalgic edible orange ring pop accord and THIS IS WHAT I WISH MARISSA ZAPPAS FLAMING CREATURE (with their orange ring pop accord) SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I’m shocked at how wearable and great these fragrances are! They are fun but still sophisticated!
