Wazamba

You can detect golpar (Persian hogweed) scent for 30 minute after spay. A kind of astringent sense is in Wazamba for this 30 minute. After that, smoke is added to previous scent. This fragrance has very complex scent changing. I tasted many fragrance till now, but this one is so complex against other fragrances that i smelled. As I said earlier, Persian hogweed is in the start of fragrance and after 30 minute, smoky scent added. After 3 hours, it becomes so similar to Gray Vetiver of Tom Ford, but at this time, you can detect smoky scent too. (Imagine that you added some smoke to Gray Vetiver in this step). After 5 hours, fragrance become a little sweet, because of Sandal wood. The sense of astringent become vanished in this step. Some peoples compare this fragrance with Fille en Aiguilles Serge Lutens. I think that the base note of Wazamba is similar to Fille en Aiguilles Serge Lutens because of sandal wood, but these two perfumes don't have any common similarity in others notes. Sillage is good and longevity is very long... عطری است نسبتا تلخ که در نیم ساعت اول استفاده از آن؛ بوییکه کاملا حس میشه ولی درنتهای عطر اصلا وجود نداره؛ رایحه ی گلپر هست. این بو در نیم ساعت اول عمر عطر بسیار محسوسه و شما حس گیاهی و کمی گس گلپر رو کاملا حس میکنید. بعد از نیم ساعت بوی دود کم کم به عطر اضافه میشه. این عطر تغییرات بوی بسیار متنوع و پیچیده ای داره. به شخصه با تست کردن صدها عطر؛ عطری به تنوع تغییر در نتهای بویایی همچون این عطر ندیدم. همونطور که گفتم اولش بوی گیاهی؛ کمی تلخ و گس داره که بعدش بوی دودی ملایم و دوست داشتنی به عطر اضافه میشه. بعد از حدود ۳ ساعت خیلی شبیه گری وتیور از برند تام فورد میشه که البته بوی دود اون رو همراهی میکنه. یعنی در نظر بگیرین عطر گری وتیور رو که دود ملایمی هم به اون افزوده شده. بعد از گذر از این مرحله؛ عطر تلخی اولیه اش رو از دست میده و یکم به سمت شیرین شدن حرکت میکنه. یه بوی صندل مانند و بسیار کم شیرین و بسیار گیرا که در این مرحله از نت بویایی؛ در حدود ۵ ساعت که از عمر عطر میگذره . در این مرحله عطر دیگه حس گس اولیه رو همراه نداره. تغییرات نت عطر بعد از گذشت ۵ ساعت به بعد دیگه محسوس نیست و عطر با همین تم بویایی قید شده به سمت پایان عمر بویایی زیبا و پیچیده ی خودش گام برمیداره..... پخش بوی قابل قبولی داره و طول عمر عطر طولانی هست. بعضی از کاربرها این عطر رو با fille en aiguilles, Serge lutens مقایسه کرده اند.در حالیکه به نظرم من این عطردر مجموع تلخ هست و سرج لوتنز ته بوی شیرینی داره البته یک نکته ی ریز هم به نظر من هست و اون اینکه علتی که بعضی اشخاص این عطر رو شبیه فیله سرج لوتنز میدونند در نت پایانی عطر وازامبا هست. عطر وازامبا در نت انتهاییش به علت کم شدن رایحه تلخ و اضافه شدن صندل و در نتیجه شیفت کردن بو به سمت شیرینی ملایم؛ شبیه فیله سرج لوتنز میشه. البته فقط در این نت پایانی و به هیچ وجه در نت اولیه و نت میانی این دو عطر به نظر من شبیه به هم نیستند و این عطر بمراتب پیچیده تر از فیله سرج لوتنز هست.

Wazamba is a lovely take on an incense-led amber perfume. It can be described as a balsamic amber scent enhanced by aromatic green pine notes. It brings to mind elemi, one of my favourite amber notes - a rich, resinous amber with pine-like nuances. Wazamba is like an artistic reconstruction of elemi from other notes, enhanced by other, well-chosen ingredients. It is an easy-to-wear, understated scent for amber lovers - pleasant, comforting and elegant, as well as made with high-quality ingredients. Wazamba opens with dry, resinous incense from initial spray, closely followed by a photorealistic pine note. Like an evergreen forest in the summertime, it smells of the new growth of fresh pine needles alongside a dry woodiness that reflects the trees and fallen needles underfoot. It is the most beautiful accord - I have a weakness for a good ecclesiastical incense note, and the realistic woody pine enhances it to perfection. There is a soft spiciness in there, adding warmth, and the amber accord becomes increasingly balsamic as it develops. It is rich but remains somehow airy. As it develops, a fruity accord comes to the fore, honeyed and sweet but reasonably subtle. It complements the amber accord beautifully. I get baked apple and something akin to dates. Some juicy plum makes its presence felt as it develops further - in my experience, plum notes are never subtle. It adds juicy sweetness here, but marries well with the more honeyed dried fruit notes. The amber accord becomes darker and more dense as it dries down, resinous and leather-like. The incense that permeates this scent keeps it dry and aromatic, and the balsamic sweetness persists. There is a lovely smooth sandalwood note in the base, tying everything together beautifully, and a hint of greenness remains throughout, perhaps thanks to the fern note. It fades to a sweetly musky skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting, and it is best worn in autumn/winter, as tends to be the way with amber. A unisex balsamic amber scent, complemented to perfection by pine-like woodiness, Wazamba is a nuanced, beautifully-balanced composition that is well-blended throughout. It feels classic in style, yet has subtle points of interest. Made with top-quality ingredients, it is a delight until final fade - another gem from this house. A underrated amber scent, Wazamba is timeless. 4.5/5.

WaZAMbaaaaaa! Not for everyone, but very definitely a favourite for me. It's a very distinctive woody / resin/ spicy scent which completely avoids some of the usual pitfalls for me (no nauseating vetiver, no excessive rankness or bitterness). I teetered along the love/repulsion line for a day or two and then fell for it completely. It's extremely aromatic, lots of gummy resiny plenty woody stuff. On top of that, it's GOOD wood - quality timber, not just any old aromachemical that smells a bit like any old wood - although the pine / conifer / fir top note is strong and lasting, there are more interesting things going on underneath. I tested this when looking for a good Tam-Dao like sandalwood, and it's definitely NOT THAT - it is far more complex and more mixed up with more angular, more outdoorsy wood. It's infinitely fresher than Tam Dao, less sweet, with no cuddly cinnamon and less spiciness overall. Yes, it does have a few notes in common with Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles (which I also adore) but it's not at all fruity or syrupy either: it has nothing of the mulled-wine deep-red feeling of FeA. There is certainly a sour-apple note in there too, which sounds horrible, but really isn't - it just blends in beautifully with all the tree sap. There's a tiny undertone of smoke, too, but not much. If this were furniture it would be a beautiful raw-wood piece of freshly hewn timber, not a deep comfy padded upholstered couch like Fille. If it did have a colour my guess is it would be a light, beech wood tone - really an unusual sense of freshness for a woody scent. Lasts well for me - up to 8-10h, unusual for so airy-seeming a fragrance, though it does settle close to the skin. It's unusual but in my view really, really worth trying. ETA: every single time I wear this one, I wonder why I don't wear it more; my love of it only deepens. It survives cold weather just fine, and magically becomes light and aromatic enough to work even on hotter days. And every other person I've pressed a sample of this on to, ended up liking (and in most cases loving) it too, which is well above average. An absolutely solid performer.

Well well... what to say about Wazamba... First of all let me tell you I blind bought this (bad bad boy, shouldn't blindbuy any longer!)because of all the Fille en aiguilles similarities people mention. Well... of course both have some common ingredients: pine, incense and fruit. But in this case it is neither a dark perfume nor captivating. Instead, a very bright one and festive. I can't think of apple but quince when I have this on. Not the acid kind of the actual fruit but the candied one once you've made jam with it. I hate to compare scents because it seems I have to choose one and despise the other. I've come to think I can like 2 different scents and just enjoy them without having to do that. The thing is I quite like Wazamba... but I don't love it and could never possibly get to do so. I've grown tired of it in only 2 weeks. In the top notes a nice and persistent fruity vibe intermingles with pine to go into a different direction when incense enters the game. This is beautiful and cheering. However, I find that after some minutes I feel a bit sick, as if wishing to escape from sweetness and fruits jam. The drydown goes on in the same direction but much less pronounced and after some wearings I realized there was something I had sniffed before. Mandragore that is! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they are exactly the same, not at all, but they share common features at this stage which for me are the best part of this scent. Don't ask me how, but pretty refreshing! I've given Wazamba a few full wearings since I felt somehow upset for not experiencing its reported marvel... unfortunately I still couldn't get rid of that sickening fruit soup part. It's crazy but even if it is very original and distinct, I get the same boredom and claustrophobia than wearing many mainstream perfumes for men. You know, those fruity messes. Now I enjoy it, find it high quality (plus excellent price for an eau de parfum), great sillage and longevity... but seldomly wear it. Perhaps when spring shows up again here in the southern hemisphere... who knows?

The exudates from trees are for repair, they flow around the wounded site, and harden into a seal. These resins are believed to repair our souls, to treat our wounds from trauma or grief. Their tears encourage our tears, which are themselves for repair, or they serve as a salve in times of anxiety or discord. I have much respect for what trees give to all other living beings, and I have a feeling perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato does as well, from what I experience through Wazamba. The bitter and sappy are countered with the sweet and warm, like the cool air on one's face while wearing a well-insulated coat. I experience the skin of a red apple, an undertone of spiced cider, the whiff of a plum pudding, a festive echo with pine boughs adorned with twigs of juniper and cypress, then the frankincense resin simmering above a warmer, a bit of a bubble and sizzle, thin plumes of white. Myrrh and opoponax launch soon thereafter, and all of it stirs my personal space like an incantation. There isn't a carnal sensuality to Wazamba, and that may disappoint some, but I find relief in a fragrance that distances us from desire and brings to the here and now, without distraction, but allowing space for some wonder. It isn't conventionally sexy, but neither is it cold nor detached. It has a loving kindness to it, only hinting at cool, dry asceticism. It can't be all that serious when I can fondly recall the lush needles of trees, the sap sticking my fingers together as a kid, delighting in the aroma and watching my digits slowly separate with the resins suspended into webs. If you are a diehard incense fragrance like me, it's worth your while to sample this.

Another wonderful fragrance from the house of Parfum d'Empire. My favourite is Ambre Russe, but this one comes a very close second. Wazamba is another Heart of Darkness perfume (the other one for me being the infamous Tropic of Capricorn by Olympic Orchids, although there is no resemblance in the two fragrancewise), that manages to balance on the razor's edge between appealing and slightly menacing. I find Wazamba less disconcerting though, in spite of the pitch black sticky darkness at the heart of this perfume. It is redolent with balsams, resins, almost caramelised apple (but the sugar here is burnt dark brown), with frankincense and labdanum (to my nose) in the leading roles, plus that weird metallinc tang: a high pitched note that prevents the composition from being unbearably sticky, dense and opressing. I really enjoy the tension this knife-like metallic element brings in this perfume, although it also reminds me of blood, which adds even more to the ambiguity of this fragrance. The apple note helps to balance the composition towards more friendly and warm, yet it never really gets there. Somehow Wazamba has the general atmosphere of "licking honey from a razor's edge", which I find extremely fascinating and intriguing. Wazamba is one of those perfumes that has a very expressed texture beside "just smelling". It is almost tangibly sticky, like raw labdanum resin. Wazamba called Piguet's Casbah to mind, but Casbah is much more austere and drier than Wazamba. Wonderful quality, just the righ sillage, not a monster but will get noticed. Longevity is OK, 5-6 hours, but after about 3 hours it will quiet down to a skin scent.

Wazamba sounds like onomatopoeia or the command given by a mage in child’s cartoon when a spell is cast in a fantastical pine forest. Sparkling aldehydes make the syrupy pine sap twinkle like it’s been sprinkled with pixie dust. Or maybe like a cloud of crystalline sugar. It’s unusually sweet, but not off-putting for a pine aroma, and the spicy inflections from cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg make it almost mouthwatering and tantalizing. Smooth billows of frankincense and myrrh smoke - equally citrusy, earthy, spicy, balsamic, and green - provide breadth and a vivacious spirituality. Take a step back, and smell the sweetness, the spices, the incenses, dark and dehydrated purple fruits, and woods, next pile in the aldehydes, and Wazamba starkly reminds me of Feminite du Bois and, obviously, Fille en Aiguilles because of the sparkle and the pine. This is a good thing; a very good thing, though Wazamba approaches sweeter fruits, incense, and woods from a different direction. Wazamba is an excellent example of contrast. Sweet saps and bitter resins, citrusy pine and supple purple fruits, bright balsams and tangible white smoke. Neither cooly dark nor peacefully arboreal, there is a magical energy to Wazamba driven by the ethereal, rich, and vibrant incense that is spectacular. Not a quiet walk through a wood, but a lively choral commune with the sacred forces of nature. It’s a beautiful incense woods perfume, and another very strong entry to Parfum d’Empire’s lineup from MAC.

If you desperately miss the forest, Wazamba is the perfect fragrance for you. Wazamba opens with warm resinous dark green pine needles. I can see where the sap has hardened and turned opaque on the bark of the trunk, and where it still drips, fresh and potent. As it warms up, the warm, dry and smoky authentic church incense and hints of fresh apple emerge to join along with the pine forming an absolutely gorgeous synergy. As it dries down, the almost peppery, woody incense takes the stage in all of its smoky sacred glory, along with occasional appearances of cypress. The final notes on me are a mild fruitiness and labdanum with the last traces of smoke.. Wazamba is welcoming, simmering and wearable. It projects decently but definitely is not a sillage monster. Will have to try again in summer. I wouldn't hesitate to wear Wazamba year round as it contains many of my favorite notes and is not too heavy. It has great longevity. If you are the least bit reluctant to smell like a coniferous forest, you might consider this as an alternative means of scenting your home (as other reviewers have suggested), because it is so warm, natural, and inviting-smelling. It's also much less messy than moving all of your furniture into a cathedral and then covering the floor with pine needles.

This fragrance is deeply captivating to me. It evokes a sense of nostalgia for a memory I cannot quite place, perhaps even one I have never truly experienced. Each note is presented in such a distinctive way that it feels unlike any fruit or incense scent I have previously owned or tested. The overall character is rather old fashioned, yet the composition remains unique. I can detect a touch of each note throughout the entire wear, rather than experiencing the usual pattern of certain notes starting strong and then fading away. There is a clear churchlike quality, though not in a heavy or overly solemn manner. It reminds me of stepping into an empty church where the gentle trace of incense still lingers, or returning home after Christmas mass with the scent softly clinging to one’s clothes. It feels fresher than most traditional church inspired fragrances, which gives it a more inviting and less severe presence. As it develops, it becomes slightly powdery, adding a quiet sense of refinement. The longevity and projection are both excellent, and I will definitely be purchasing a full bottle.

This reminds me of a walk in my very own backyard! Actually, perhaps a few miles out of town and into the Oregon woods in the middle of summer. Wazamba smells like toasted fir needles crunching underfoot, with a sweet, sun-ripened, soft piney aroma. It's like a hitting the trail with my family which we try to do a couple of times a month during the warmer seasons. The cypress in Wazamba strikes me as though I've deeply inhaled fresh, sinus clearing mountain air. Then I reach into my backpack and grab a small packet of trail mix, open it and release the rich smell of dried apples and sweet ambery-musky ladbanum. Wonderfully wholesome, vibrant, natural, woody, resinous and rich all at once. I doubt I'd buy a bottle though as there's nothing like donning on my hiking shoes and going out to get the real thing, yet this fragrance is so true to scent that it transports me right there. I can't wait either as the weather is just now warming up. Highly recommend for anyone who doesn't have a forest in their backyard. Wazamba is a uniquely fantastic fragrance that evokes outdoor adventure and joy.

Ooh, this is so gorgeous. I love the woodsy smokiness and the dry almost-bitterness of it. Anyone else smell turmeric? I've been wearing this for a few months now. The first sniff was a bit meh, but I always like wood and smoke, so even if I didn't exactly love it, it was nice enough. I took my sample on what turned out to be a fantastic camping holiday - is that why it grew on me? - and ended up finishing it and buying another, larger one while I debated whether I preferred Wazamba or Fille en Aiguilles. Somehow Wazamba manages to be all kinds of lovely things at once. It's like a hot, bright day in a cool, dark forest. It is dry and bitter but with a touch of fruity sweetness. It has astringency, smokiness and rounded woodiness. So far it has suited summer wear perfectly but with the smoke and pine I can see it as a winter frag as well. Aside from woody/resinous essential oils - sandalwood, cedarwood, patch - I have always been a white/yellow flowers girl, so I'm surprised at the hold Wazamba has on me. I've bought a bottle of Fille, but I think I need this one too.

How much do I adore this perfume... I'm afraid I'll tire of it so sometimes I put it away for a while just so when I next spray it I can have that first-time experience all over again. This is the first scent my partner said he wanted to try on himself. He thinks it's quite masculine but I think it's just that it isn't flowery or sweet, so not solely masculine but not girly. To me, it's a whole new thing. Dry, spicy, dusty, a bit of light dried fruit sweetness combined with astringent bitter spice, warm, but also the scent of sun smelled from the shade. It doesn't show up in the notes but I often get a whiff of curry leaf and/or turmeric at a middle stage in its evolution. Even after the full drydown Wazamba doesn't smell stale or faded, it goes clean and a little soapy. Without wishing to be completely over the top, this scent combines a kind of ascetic quality with a quiet joy in useful things. This is not a story about leather and brocade, wealth and privilege but more about sunshine and shade, fragrant food, clean clothes, deep breaths, beauty in simplicity.

Wazamba is the incense, woody, resinous perfume I've been searching for. It completely lacks those annoying notes of synthesized amber and sharp frankincense. I can't escape that nauseating, synthetic amber accord that so many perfumers seem to use in the base of their creations. Maybe you know what I'm talking about.... Wazamba would be splendid for autumn, but I personally can't wait to wear it in winter because it reminds me so much of a Christmas tree. It seems to perfectly capture the scent of pine resin. It's so true and real. The smidge of apple makes this perfume well-rounded. I am grateful for the total lack of spice. Nobody's going to be smelling like an apple pie or some fig and walnut chutney when wearing this. Wazamba is subtly sweet, which is the way I like my woods--the drier and more natural, the better. It's the perfect cozy, woody scent to compliment a walk in a snowy wood or sitting down by the fireplace with a glass of brandy after a delicious holiday dinner. If I go to Tahoe this winter, Wazamba is coming with me.

I was very eager to try out Wazamba, since some people seem to consider it a better version of Fille en Aiguilles, which I love. It's one of my all-time favourite scents, especially in the time around Christmas: it's so bright and festive in a wintry way, with its wonderful combination of incense, pine and dried fruits. And Wazamba does undoubtedly smell rather similar, and apart from that it's also obviously just very high quality, as I expect from Parfums d'Empire. They're both excellent perfumes, and in the end it's just a matter of taste which one you prefer. I myself am going to stick to Lutens' offering: Wazamba has just a little less of that festive touch, focusing a little less on pine and sweet fruits, and more on incense and especially a nice but initially slightly sour resinous note. Just as lovely, especially in the drydown, only ever so slightly less to my own taste. I'm sure I'd be adding a full bottle of Wazamba to my wish list right now if I didn't already know Fille en Aiguilles, though!

I wish I could have met Wazamba earlier,close to Christmas time... It is that much sought by me fir sap and resin along with cypress and myrrh, that I adore. I whinged and whined and moaned for years, that Christmas trees nowadays are lacking that sap-smell, as they used to be in childhood. They all smell like perfect plastic nowadays, whether they are from Garden Centre direct or been cut in the forest. So, like majority of us, I ended up with forever-artificial-tree, trying to buy all sorts of candles/diffusers in Festive time, that supposed to smell like fir, pine, spices, but never succeeded to bring me anything like that, apart of disappointment. Wazamba didn't disappoint me, it is all those natural winter resins, that illustrated Christmas in my books of memory. Is is rich, woody, natural brew, directly from winter forest. Again, do not get much incense of it, even though it has similarity with Jovoy's Liturgie, - it is a joyful scent, not melodramatic one. Loving it.

Blindly bought a 50ml flacon from an on-line merchant and have been wearing it about every week or so for about a month now and am liking it more & more each time. Can definitely pick up the apple & plum notes and it's probably these two combined that are leading some people to pick up a burnt or slightly rotten fruit smell. I was initially a little put off by the smell but with each wearing appreciate it more and more. It is also very much an incense/smoky fragrance, but not in the dark churchy vein, but in a more subtle campfire-ish way. On me, sillage is heavy & longevity is very long lasting (10+ hours). The dry down is particularly enjoyable as it's a little bit fruity, smoky, and woodsy. I am starting to really fancy this marvellously unique fragrance from Parfum d'Empire. Will probably buy the 100ml flacon as I can definitely foresee this being a fall/winter favourite. Sillage: moderate Longevity: very long lasting (10+ hrs)

Simply great Resins mixed with smoky incense and some woods attacking your nose. It's dark, smoky and extremely heavy in resinous part. The resinous smell is not like the resins on the body of the tree that smell smooth and slightly woody. Initially a rush of smoky,incense commingling with the Christmas tree aroma of balsam fir. At once, one is immersed in the resinous warmth of a lively incense coupled with the somewhat minty The enhanced resins flow to the receptive base. A gentle sandalwood, with its buttery and softly sweet woodiness, lifts the resinous, incense concoction. A soothing cypress infuses its pine-like woodiness with an ambergris nuance. The base is a musky woody smoky scent with some sweetness in the background and it's very smooth against the opening and mid. Projection is good (above average) and longevity is around 6-8 hours on my skin. A great fragrance from the brand.Nice winter scent with good longevity

Beautiful incense fragrance with a slight sweet tinge. My favorite is still incense pure by Sonoma scent studio, but this is right behind it. I wish it was a little stronger and projection was a little better but great house with some great offers. Winner! Edit: update: full bottle is here Man, I am not sure what it is about having a full bottle but it smells even better. I think it's the atomizer and it's equal distribution of spray. Anyways ..I use to not care for incense but it's frags like this that totally change my outlook on the genre. Perfect balance all the way. Quality at its finest especially at this price point. I stumbled on this house when I came across Ambre russe which I also own now by the way. I need Cuir ottoman and I'll have the best three from the house. Great quality to price in the niche game.

I don't have as much time today. But I do want to say something. This is a welcome surprise. This is also my first time trying this brand and so far so bad. This is a spicy and smoky fragrance in a resinous type of way, but it is not heavy! Very nicely done. I am excited to try the rest of the house in hopes that this fragrance is a representation of the others. Any fragrance that has a note of Cypress in the composition I am going to like. It doesn't come through right away, but it does slip in and out in the heart of the fragrance. It has very subtle changes that I find quite beautiful. I can see what all of the fuss is about. Maybe not necessarily in this fragrance specifically, but hopefully in the others.

What I appreciate so much by Parfum d'Empire perfumes is their targeting and concentration on the idea of each single scent. If you take Ambre Russe - it's an Amber dream, Cuir Ottoman - a Cuir par excellence, Wazamba - a 100% resinous myrrhy wood without unnecessary bits and pieces. Scents sit very compact on skin, without distance depending variability (dear Serge if you could manage this as well?), making the sillage and perception so gorgeouse. As one of peviouse reviewers has mentioned Wazamba is more an ambiance then a perfume. For me Wazamba is a cosy chair besides the fireplace and a glass of porto in the hand. Not sure I could ware it, probably a touch too masculine and heavy for my taste.

Wazamba is my signature scent and my lifesaver whenever I tempt to feel any dispair in my business or personal life, all these resins and sweet spieces are working like a soul balm on me, reparing me, fixing me, the indescribable combination of Myrhh, Incense and Oppoponax beams me centuries ago in an ancient souk in Mesopotamia, where the contrasting modern touch of red apple, mouth watering plum and lush aldehydes vacuums me back to today, both deep and complex with olibanum plus other balsamic notes, at the same tim refreshing, airy and rejuvenating with mighty cypress, fresh green fern and velvety creamy sandal. I am a total fan of this mythical perfume.

I love this beautiful incensey, resiny, herby, woody perfume. It's gorgeous. Very strong and long lasting. My husband wears it and loves it too, and it is more masculine and piney on him, but on me it's more resinous, balmy and incensey. There's a lovely mint smell too. It's lovely. Soothing and comforting, especially on a cold day, when it seems a lot warmer, and helps me to keep warm. It's a very deep and interesting perfume, and I think it's beautiful.

Fragrance number 9 on the testing ground This one fascinated me from the opening till the dry down it was very enjoyable to wear The incense mixed with everything else it was one heck of an experience Masterfully blended showing the notes yet nothing overpowers the incense I can easily say it’s one of this brands best creations This is the second fragrance from the house that is actually worth buying out of the 9 fragrances I tried.....well done

For an incense-lover like me, this perfume has become one of my favourites. I had tried it months ago in Paris (at the paradise called Jovoy), and since then I wanted to buy it. At the time, my credit card had reached its monthly expense limit.... Now I own it, and I really love wearing it at night. It is a different take on incense, with notes of resins and sweet, dried fruits. For those who love incense, I think this is a must.

I'm not aware of any scent that is similar to Wazamba. It sits at the driest extreme of the perfume spectrum, yet is not harsh or severe. The pine and incense serves to conjure an image of old wooden lacquered chests containing treasures from the spice route. I love Wazamba for it's distictiveness, and crave it on occasion. It is a perfume to be experienced, rather than enjoyed, but however you wear it, it won't be forgotten.

Wazamaba certainly is exotic, unusual. This is more smell than stricte eau de parfum. Warm, likeable incense complete not associates with church. This is rather smoke autummal fire. Besides incense in Wazamba are many another notes: cinnamon, beautiful sandalwood, burnes apples. Smell is rich, merry, warm, almost hot. Great, smiled oriental scent, specially to wear in autumm and winter. I love it, I want it.

A coniferous incens-y fragrance with a pensive tone, but never too sombre thanks to the sweet touch of dried fruits. It also smells very natural, almost as if someone were burning dried frankincense resin next to my nose. I can definitely see why Wazamba might remind people of Fille en Aiguille, but if you are looking for a replacement for Fille, Wazamba is not it. It is much darker and more meditative.

The small amount of sweetness that Wazamba provides is something I hope other incense fragrances will start copying. The fruits are sweet enough to make this so easy to like, but are subtle enough to leave the incense and wood notes as the center of attention. The only thing I don't like about this fragrance is the bottle.

This is in my top 3. I have been searching for a woody piney scent but found Cdg`s Hinoki a bit to turpentiny harsh, DSH Hinoki was abit softer on me and almost perfect, but then I found this one. Softer rounder sweeter. More woody than incensey on me. Ends up in a sweet cool incense pine mix on my skin.

This is one of the best Parfume in this family. Incense scent but very soft, comfy, plummy. It's starting with a very balanced mix of fresh wood and sweet honey/dates. This is the right perfume when you want to feel a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. I think I will buy a bottle.

A pleasant surprise. A delightfully crisp opening of red apple and cypress sits upon a fruity, resinous base of myrrh and incense. Such a warm, joyful fragrance. A perfect spring wear, when it really unfolds and breathes its beautiful art. Very impressed.

Fruity-peppery incense scent that reminds me of how sandy and barren a desert can smell. I like it for that. Fragrance 8/10, longevity 8/10, sillage 7/10, Flacon 7/10

I'll keep it simple -- somewhere on the spectrum between Passage d'Enfer and Fille En Aiguilles. Sweeter than PdE, less jammy than FeA. Leans incense over wood.

Aaaaah That incense-apple ..... SUPERB

Wazamba by Parfum d'Empire makes me think of standing in the middle of a pine forest while wearing YSL Opium. YSL opium is a dignified incense with resins, myrrh, and aldehydes. Speaking of aldehydes, I usually feel slightly nauseous or headachy after a few minutes of wear, but Wazamba isn’t giving me that feeling. Maybe the heavy hit of woody notes is counter acting the aldehydes? Or maybe the combination of loud or sweet floral notes with aldehydes makes me nauseous? Anyway, Wazamba is so classy--a formal incense that will cut through the cold weather. This might work in the warm weather, but I’ve yet to try it in such conditions. IMO, Wazamba does not smell like Fille en Aiguilles. I would recommend Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors if you were looking for a sweet woody scent with a prominent balsam fir note, not Wazamba. I would recommend Wazamba if you are looking for a unique, elegant, slightly masculine-leaning incense. 4/5

A naturalistic bright woody approach to incense. Opens up quite bright and smokey with a fresher frankincense, maybe slightly tart and fruity, but also squeaky clean. Cypress really rings throughout the fragrance imparting a potent, dry, masculine feel. There is a sticky resinous quality to it, but I wouldn't consider it typical amber at all. I understand why plum is chosen as a representative accord, but it is more of a tart dried plum to my nose rather than the actual fresh fruit. There is also a type of earthiness, a slight herbal bitterness to my nose. Quite a potent, bitter, and tart scent. It feels bizarre to me. Not repulsive, just a bit strange. I get church imagery on one side, then dry wooden shrubs and bushes on the other. I am not familiar with African indigenous cultures so I don't know if this is representative as claimed, but I can imagine an indigenous tribe burning resins in the dry savanna.

Unique perfume from P. de E. The opening is to my taste the most striking of Wazamba, here the sweet note of the apple is mixed with the note of cypress and incense giving a sparkling combo even with nuances like lemon candies, both very balsamic by the resins Which rise to the opening and a very smoky point that holds until the end of drying.Immediately that great note of entrance low being the resins, woods and the smoked notes, until the final drying, in this phase everything feels less interesting if we compare it with the game.Wazamba evokes Africa and its ancient culture, I do not know why, I only find lemon candies with incense. Caution!! It does not seem to me a bad fragrance, but, I do not find what the author wants to reflect on any side, and above does not seem to me a very versatile fragrance. Rating: 6.5

207) Shaman Couture Les notes de tête sont confuses mais très vite les choses se mettent très bien en place. J'aurais envie de résumer ce parfum à ce que j'imagine pourrait donner Serge Lutens qui décide de prendre un bain de vapeur rituel dans une hutte à sudation avec ses amis Sioux Lakotas (non! je ne parle pas d'une grosse orgie !). Un peu de forêt du Nord Dakota et un peu de confiture française. Le résultat est à se damner. The top notes are confused but soon things fall well in place. I would like to summarize this perfume to what I imagine could give Serge Lutens who decides to take a ritual steam bath in a sweat lodge with his friends Sioux Lakota (no! I'm not talking about a big orgy!). A little bit of North Dakota forest and a little bit of French jam. The result is to die for.

A deep incense greets me at the door: "Hi lady, welcome to the world of mysteries and complexity. Enjoy your advanture." I start walking down a staircase, dark and dry. A few minutes later, a group of myrth, opoponax, resin, and sandalwood meet me half way and accompany me the rest of the trip. They are close friends, I'd say; no argument, no competition among them. They work together to bring in harmony and beauty. It's a dark, rough, and dry trip, but at the end, it does get alot smoother as amber takes over sandalwood. *Strength: 9/10 *Sillage: 7-8/10 I like it very much. PS: and no, this doesn't smell like Frapin 1270 at all on my skin. The other one is much smoother, lighter, sweeter, and more feminine compared to this.

Wazamba Versus Jeke SlumberHouse One of the Jeke reviews suggested Wazamba was similar to and preferable to Jeke. So I thought I try a sample Wazamba is warm, smooth, slightly sweet even almost floral. My preference is for the church incense. Wazamba has church notes but in a very weak form. Jeke church notes are pronounced and for me very good but is too smoke / woody to be used every day. Wazamba doesn't suffer from the smoky problem. At the risk of repetition, the church incense notes are too light. How Wazamba smells on me seems to be different to what I'm reading about it. So I agree that this fragrance needs to be tried before committing. There is nothing wrong with it but Wazamba is not for me.

A sweet plummy fragrance with incense and fir backing it up, then later a bit of a sticky myyrh. I would say that you could maybe call this Fille en Aiguilles light as it isn't as dense and it's fruitier (the plum is very present and very nice) but they do share a bit of the same space. Fille en Aiguilles is excellent but it is very strong and I usually save it for Winter around Christmas time, but Wazamba you could probably wear most of the year aside from a hot summer I think. I can see why people might say its similar to Liturgie des Heures too with the incense and fir but LdH doesn't share the fruity spicy profile that this and FeA have. Not super original, but very good execution.

I blind bought this just because it had incense, myrrh and resins. So I thought i’d appreciate it. So far, I like it but I would not say I love it. I admit that through scents with similar compositions I was always looking somehow for church-like scents. In this case that feeling is non existent. Why? I personally get a lot of the fruity notes. They never take over. I can smell great whiffs of fruit at the same time as a big incense cloud follows around. Because of that, I feel more like travelling somewhere in an oriental country. Not what I was expecting but still interesting. This is in my opinion perfectly unisex. I would not call it super masculine. Worth a try anyway.

This brand is definitely something special. I never smelled something quite like wazamba, a masterfully blended concuction. This fragrance is incensy, but fun at the same time with the Apple blended with incense. Its just so complex and joyful while retaining some seriousness. That's trully a niche fragrance, or at least what I expect from a niche perfume. Just beautiful. It's pretty potent, not sure i can pull this one off as it's present A LOT and quite sharp, but I appreciate the artistry. In comparison, I have Purpose 50 and although its supper potent as well, its corners are rounded and therefore it is easier to wear in my opinion.

Nice but hardly like SL Fille en Arguilles which is in my top 10 fragrances. Waz has lots of wonderful resin and incense notes but none of the sun warmed sweetness of FeA. The opopanax note is heavy on me. Waz is a tad sharper with the cypress. Very nice but I will stick to my FeA. FeA instantly transports me to a sunny day amongst the fir trees of Siberia. Magic! I also have Aziyade which is more or less gourmand and this is no gourmand. This is all about incense and more importantly resins. There is some labdanum but the oppopanax and myrrh rule here. It is not as sweet as either FeA or Aziyade. The fruit notes dont get a look in!

Opening masculine with loads of incense and myrrh. Followed by fresh and sparkling apple and I feel loads of lemons as well even they are not listed. The next note that comes is definetely cypress. The scent becomes more and more woody, sweet and warm resins appear and makes this extremely lovely to my nose and perfectly suitable for such a cold evening I have here. I can feel that there are some sugary notes, like apple cider with too much sugar, but it's not as disturbing as it was at the first appearance of the sugar here. It's not what I would wear though, as I find too sweet. I hoped for something more smoky.

This is a very interesting scent; I can see similarities between it and Ambre Russe although Waz is dryer and a little weirder. Naturalistic green opening, funky/medicinal in the way plants like rhododendron can be. Smells like sap, dried fruits and burning natural incense. Many "spiritual" fragrances end up smelling like a pumpkin spice latte to me, but this one really does evoke some kind of medicine ceremony from an ancient culture. I love that Parfums D'Empire's scents are never generic crowd pleasers; they have an old school way of letting the slight stank of natural materials shine.

I chose this as one of the first ones to test from the official tester set, this based on scent profile. I can smell some type of incense and also resins which I generally like but here they are either very special ones that are not so inviting or the apple as a note does not let me to fully enjoy it. I wouldn't have guessed apple is here without seeing the notes. I have noticed that apple note has destroyed some scents for me, it adds a totally unnecessary fruitish-bitterish tone that I just don't enjoy (whatever it really is). This one is OK though, good enough to give it a like.
