Palatine

I love it, too; and am honestly shocked that with an uptick in the fascination with vintage modern on social media platforms this fragrance hasn't been embraced more by the fragrance community. Maybe the gluttony of gourmand chocolates & vanillas added to literally everything on the market has tainted the minds of the masses that the expectation is for every fragrance to be foodie, dessert like, sugary sweet..... This is a classic Victorian pure purple floral.🪻🌸💜 I'm confused how someone can wish this smelled like violets? as this is thee violetest of the violets. Marie Antoinette would have loved this. It's clean 🫧, floral, somehow juicy yet "powdery" at the same time. A streamlined, classy yet super playful, fresh violet option; fit for royalty. I enjoy violet in perfumery, so this scratches the itch. It says it has lavender, the bottle is purple. Yet I see comments complaining it smells like lavender? When did the community become a hub for complaining Karens and Shaniquas? Just because it doesn't have vanilla, milk, sugar, or a corny title full of popular buzzwords (Kayali👀) doesn't make it a horrible fragrance. I don't understand all the hate for the pretty purple floral. Ok, rant over.

Once I started seeing the negative reviews I had a feeling I’d like it. This is a love for me and my current favorite fragrance at the moment. When I first tried it on a tester strip, I liked it but wasn’t super impressed. It wasn’t until I wore it on my skin that I really started loving it. My husband also loves this on me and comments on it whenever I wear it. It’s balanced and not heavy on one specific note. It’s a feminine citrusy-violet-woody fragrance with a freshness. I detect a touch of vanilla in the base that rounds it out so it doesn’t go sharp. It’s feminine but not girly. The dry down is my favorite. The projection is moderate but lasts on my skin all day. Is it overpriced? Well, I think all fragrances are overpriced. So for me it comes down to really enjoying a fragrance and wanting to wear it. And if I do, then I’ll buy a bottle. I did purchase this on sale though and I generally avoid paying full retail as much as possible. For reference the only other PdM I really like is Safanad. I strongly dislike all the Delina’s, especially Delina Exclusif as it makes me nauseous.

Beautiful. And this is coming from someone who was unable to like any of the viral PDM perfumes. It is a gorgeously fruity and slightly soapy flower field that leaves a trace behind it's wearer. I can almost imagine myself head to toe in soft white cotton, walking through the sea of violets during the sunset on a summers day. It does not scream potent bomb of notes in your face like the rest of PDM perfumes, which is probably why I like it way more than the other ones, but it works wonders after applying the correct amount and waiting some time for it to settle on your skin. It starts to softly radiate off of you and, if it matches your PH, oh, what an elegant beauty it is. It does slightly remind me of Insolence (comparing to the new version, not sure about the OG Insolence) but to me it is way more feminine and bright. Just a gorgeous blend of feminine notes, proving once again that class never goes out of style. Edit: Just realised what it reminded me of - Solo Ella by Loewe! Pear, Orange, Violets and Flowers. Gorgeous, but Palatine is way more sophisticated.

This is beautiful! It blooms throughout the day. Something about it reminds me of a lighter violet infused version of Guerlain Samsara’s original formula. Which I guess this is why it’s being compared to a lighter version of Insolence( I’ve never smelled Insolence, which is why I thought of a violet infused Samsara)There’s something in here that smells like Guerlain dna in the best of ways. At first spray I thought I was getting a generic, but pretty, “shampoo” scent like Chloe, but the opening is the weakest part! This blooms throughout the day and is just the perfect powdery violet with a touch of fruitiness. This doesn’t need layering but this would smell very nice with VCRS’s or La Belle’s syrupy pear note if you wanted to add a bit more sweetness to it. Not a safe blind buy, unless you love powdery violets! I blind bought this off of the notes, and have zero regrets .

I'm going straight to the point here, it smells like an intense/deeper version of any typical citrusy-floral body lotion that you can get at Bath&Body Works, doesn't smell cheap at all but gives off designer perfumes vibes. Smells better on skin yet lasts way longer on fabrics (lasted for days on my pillow sheet). I couldn't detect the base notes very well but the top notes (bergamot) was going hand-in-hand with the heart notes (violet flowers). Versatile, not overwhelming at all, Palatine is my 3rd favorite of the line for now but she unfortunately doesn't deserve that price point compared to the other princesses. EDIT after 3 months of use: Yall she grew on me, she smelled like how she looks and I got no sense of designer perfume from her. I'm soooooo using Palatine everyday, even more than Delina La Rosee (which used to be my no.1)

Well I love it! With an enthusiasm of the moment, because there are some downsides. I've already read: happy, uplifting, young, naive, fresh scent... At the first sniff, Palatine brought me back to my childhood so instantly, like no perfume before. It reminds me of a young mom, or a school teacher, who is in her late 20s or early 30s, can't spot a wrinkle on her face, but at the same time, she is mature and serious, proper and polite, leaving a good impression of someone reliable, collected, trustworthy. It definitely brings me some happy memories and for that I am putting it on my wishlist. Downside sadly as usual, it's very gentle and I have a feeling it will disappear in 1-3 hours. Still it would make a good office scent, non offensive, fresh, feminine but not seductive.

I don't understand all the negative reviews, okay perfume is personal and everyone has a different taste, but I really think some reviews seem like this is a terrible perfume. I think it is very good and wearable, it is fresh in the opening, gives an uplifting vibe, self-confidence, the drydown is the best in my opinion, soft and cozy. For me this is a fragrance that I can wear any time, any season, I understand that people expect a special scent, especially from a niche brand, personally I prefer a wearable scent that you can wear at any time. I loved this from the first spray, price is indeed on the high side but for me this perfume is worth it. I also like Valaya but sometimes find it too loud, which can be done at any place/time.

Love it! I tested it on my skin, clothes and paper at the airport. I love violets and vanilla, so this is it. I think I finally found my perfect " romantic clean girl" scent, which is soapy. Unfortunately on paper the next day is just soapy, but the most pleasant one I've tested to date. Bonus: it's NOT melancholic, like the Guerlain Insolence and it smells more youthful and modern. Extra bonus: its sandalwood does NOT smell like BO to my nose as 99% of them do. Thanks God 😅✨🪻🤍 Layered with the mandarin one (Athenais) it gets much better with a playful youthful fun personality. 🍊🟠🧡💛🪻🤍✨ 9/10 for my "clean girl" scents. That's romantic, too, due to the violets.

Soapy powdered violet is the best way to describe this , it’s heavenly! , the initial spray is so much different from the dry down it starts strongly with pear ,I could smell something very subtle almost like lavender no patchouli at all thankfully , and as it dries the violet starts to kick in with the sandalwood and musk then you could barely smell the pear it’s a simple one however you could guess it’s expensive but I do agree it’s not worth the full price of it ( no perfume is) , honestly I was surprised by the reviews here everyone on my region thinks its lovely and so do I , silage and longevity is good as expected with de Marly

The way this perfume develops is just so good. Smells like sweet candy violets that develops into a candy violet meets a fresh powder deodorant scent. I was expecting something bad or less impressive due to other reviews of this fragrance but I'm glad I didn't let those reviews stir me away. It is just the right amount of powder without being overwhelming to add freshness but it's a modern powdery sweet violet not an old-fashioned floral perfume in any way. Just smells soft fresh and sweet. Every time the wind blows, or I get a whiff I fall more in love with this perfume. Such a relaxing comforting fragrance. A perfect fresh scent.

I love this fragrance, she’s soft, feminine, clean without being too soapy. Reminds me of taking a luxurious bubble bath. To me this fragrance is for the times when I want a fragrance but I want something on the fresh, feminine side. This fragrance is very unique I don’t have anything like it in my collection and since getting it I’ve been wearing it often and have been enjoying the fragrance and the compliments I receive. I love PDM fragrances! I recommend this for anyone who likes clean, fresh, feminine scents. This is not an overpowering fragrance but it’s not supposed to be which I appreciate. Definitely recommend!

This was love at first sniff. It’s not too strong and not a gourmand perfume but it’s beautiful! I love the powdery violet, pear, orange, lavender and musk. There is also slight sweetness to it from the vanilla note. I compare it to Guerlain Insolence a little but Palatine is more sweet and more beautiful in my opinion. I wish it was a stronger perfume with longer lasting power (gives me 4-6 hours only) and better silage. It’s more like a skin scent on me but I do get whiffs of it time to time. This is beautiful spring and summer scent in my opinion.

I smelled it from a tester and fell in love! It’s so close to the clean, fresh laundry scent I’ve been searching for. feminine, soft, and airy. It has this refined powdery floral elegance that gives it a luxurious feel to me, even if it does lean a bit vintage. The only thing stopping me from getting it right now is the price... and the fact that my mom said it smells like a grandma. Still, I can’t shake how much I adore ittttt, soft, sophisticated, and comforting. I’m sure I’ll get it someday.

I got a sample Palatin and it is more strong as it was when it's released so it needed to be macerate. I like it in spring much more than in nowember. Palatine is a beautifule modern, ultra feminin violet scent wrapped in plush musk cloud. I like it very much! The sillage is average and longevity is 5-6 hours but it" s ok for me becouse it is a fragile sping flower don't need to be a powerhorse. My next Marly purchase will be!

There's only one way to explain this; She is a woman wrapped in elegance, dressed in purple. Palatine is a great light floral fragrance. It is one of the few fragrances that my husband has said he really likes. Every time I wear it, he compliments me on how I smell. It isn't overly sweet. There is a fresh floral aroma when first sprayed and then it dries down to a lovely violet with hints of musk. I think this is a safe, inoffensive fragrance that could be worn in an office environment.

Violet and musk masterpiece! Palatine is one of those fragrances that doesn’t fully reveal itself on paper but on skin it is stunning. The violet transforms into a soft, luminous floral cloud, and the musk dry down melts into a beautiful sandalwood skin scent. It feels like vintage elegance reimagined for today. It is delicate, romantic, and effortless. Truly beautiful.

I was so excited to try this when PDM announced it, and it didn't disappoint me. It's actually a really good and special version of violet; I liked how it's so powdery and magnificent. It can't be one of the PDM's top 3 but it's elegant anyway. I have been trying this for a few days, and would I buy it at some point? Yes. Would I buy it immediately, no.

We tend to expect something extravagant from a perfume that has this price range..but it doesn't mean Palatine is not beautiful..it's not too powdery..it's fresh,bright,sweet,sophisticated fruity flowery type of scent it very suitable to be a signature scent..or easy reach for going out in daylight or just feeling pretty around the house iykyk

The only feminine PDM fragrance I enjoy. Not because I'm a guy and think wearing fragrances marketed toward women is a no-go. But because they just don't resonate with me. I tried Palatine, Coco Chanel and Coco Mademoiselle in Nordstrom and loved all of them. I might get them all sometime soon.
