Sedley

This was a pretty risky purchase for me as i blind bought it at 125ml since an extremely good deal was offered to me by my supplier. Another reason why it was a risky purchase was because Jeremy recommended it lol. But we have to give it to the man (Jeremy) - although the dude regularly recommends extremely mainstream fragrances, when he says they lasts and gets compliments, they really do. I was pretty terrified of Sedley when i first got it due to many of the comments here regarding it's longevity and sillage. I have no idea what you guys are smoking but Sedley lasts the entire day for me and more. Projection might be a little weak at 4-5 hours but i have a feeling some of you guys are confusing projection for longevity - a fragrance is still there even if it has stopped projecting, and it's longevity only runs it's due course when you smash your face against your clothes and can no longer smell it. Sedley for me has a longevity of 12 hours easily, with 4-5 hours of projection as mentioned above. I live in a tropical country and work in a climate-controlled environment all day. This smells like a niche designer fresh scent to me, and after several wearings i can now appreciate it for what it is - this is an extremely well composed fresh scents which is beautifully blended into several layers. The first few times i tried it all i could detect was lemon lol. Some of you fragheads seem to think that niche houses should only make exotic or oud based fragrances, and any fresh scents are shamelessly flamed by you guys as designer and main stream. Sedley is what Roja Elysium should have been - it smells fresh, it smells expensive, and i would glady pay Elysium's price for Sedley.

Moschino Uomo, the holy liquid substance, it was made with the first molecules created after the Big Bang and it gave me so many thirsty lady compliments you can write 16 books with 900 pages But those Moschino creeps reformulated it because they knew men who wore this godly creation were just too powerful compared to the regular nobodies who wear clones of Aventus I was sad for many years, searching for a Moschino Uomo replacement 26 hours per day did not grant me results Then I bought a blue glass bottle fragrance with 2 horses on it because the weight of the cap is equal to 2 ponies It was called Sedley, my hand was shaking for some special reason while holding the bottle and I knew I did not use any cocaine that day This perfume was felt to be special so I pressed the silver button at the top and a wet slap of drops was applied to my body Suddenly an AP watch appeared around my wrist, my chest grew the most curly fluffy men hair ever felt by a woman, 8 inches were donated to my height and a portal was opened where 2 guys gave me 50 tons of gold bars The lost Moschino Uomo was reborn, by the same Perfumer, I was so happy I didnt say that Arsenal wasnt the worst football club that day Till this day with moderate 80 sprays of Sedley on the surface of my skin, my life is filled with joy and happiness with a mix of Morphine here and there Thank you Parfums De Marly for this luxurious shower gel, because now my life is finally as spectacular as before !

Parfums De Marly Sedley opens with a fresh, sparkling citrus profile that reads like a lemon-lime soda accord, combining a crisp but not sharp citrus with a slightly herbal minty green edge that feels airy, effervescent, smooth, and refined rather than harsh or soapy, with an early peppery nuance beginning to emerge. As it moves into the mid, the fizzy citrus recedes into the background and loses its effervescence while a strong peppery, slightly herbal and still somewhat fizzy-clean ambroxan-driven character takes over, supported by lingering greenery and a faint fruity backdrop, gradually becoming less airy and more dense as the hours progress, with the fizzy quality diminishing and a subtle woody facet emerging. Into the drydown, the scent continues this same progression with the peppery ambroxan remaining prominent while soft woods become more noticeable, creating a denser, more grounded profile before eventually settling into a skin scent by Hour 6. It is nice and high quality. I enjoyed the opening and the mid and Drydown was nice with the ambroxan. The ambroxan gave it staying power while still incorporating the opening and mid notes well. The opening itself was so good and unique that i can forgive the linear late mid to Drydown. Minus .5 points for the price value 8.5/10

This is a happy fragrance for me. It reminds me of warm summer days whenever I was a kid! Its a mood booster and makes me feel a couple degrees cooler whenever I wear it. As for the scent profile, I mainly get the mint, lemon/grapefruit, lavender, a tiny hint of rosemary, and a pretty big dose of ambroxan. Everything used smells like high grade synthetics to me, giving it a effervescent feel. It also reminds me of some kind of laundry beads my mom used whenever I was little. On scent alone, this would be a 10 for me. Longevity is good for a freshie, being around 7 hours. Is this worth it for someone who would daily Sedley and only Sedley? Maybe not, $210 on discounters is very steep for the average consumer. For me, it is worth every penny as I'll mainly wear this during the summer and early fall. Take this review with a pinch of salt, as I am biased towards fresh fragrances and I typically like most PDM fragrances. But, if youre looking for a fresh fragrance with decent performance, Sedley is definitely worth trying!

Sedley is a fizzy blast of citrus and clean woods, bright and sharp at the top, almost sparkling like soda water. It sits perfectly for office wear, easygoing and safe but never boring, the kind of fragrance that makes you feel crisp without trying too hard. For a freshie it lasts far longer than expected, and it projects well enough to be noticed without being the guy everyone side-eyes in the lift. The bottle is a chunky slab of faux luxury, heavy in the hand, but not exactly groundbreaking in design. It looks nice enough on a shelf, if you can stomach paying for the privilege. And that’s the problem. PDM seem to believe citrus and ambroxan are spun from solid gold, because the price is nothing short of lunacy. At £110 for 100ml I would happily buy a bottle, but until they pull their heads out their ass and stop charging rent money for lemon water, they’ll never see a penny from me.

Over the years I've gone back n forth with the PDM freshies -- trading or selling one for another. After some time I reacquired Sedley because I deem this the most superior PDM freshie. Initially I thought it was immature, almost Axe shower gel like. But Percival and Greenly win that award for being a teenager fragrance. A rich teenager. Greenly was too much shampoo and Percival was a 2000's era six pack douche kid with the A&F Fierce connotations. I wore Percival and my GF, who worked at Abercrombie back in the early 2000's, asked why the F was I wearing the Abercrombie fragrance as a 40 year old man? Sedley seems the most put together. Sparkling minty top. Musky finish. It's just right. Go with this one if you're trying to pick between one of the many PDM summer offerings.

My 👑 summer frag. Yes, it's the middle of winter. No, I don't care. I like to feel amazing, and that's exactly what wearing Sedley does. Every time I walk by that sexy ass bottle on my shelf I get the urge to drench myself in this stuff. Sedley just has so much more character compared to any of the ~10 designer citrus freshies I own and it's got alright performance to boot. It doesn't last as long as what I've become accustomed to with this house, but since it's a dedicated warm weather frag I'll give it a pass. Sedley definitely has that Parfums de Marly secret sauce, because it's laced with quality and uniqueness while being wearable asf. Criminally underrated. Maybe that's a good thing? More for me that way muahaha

The citrus , mint, and lavender together make for a stunning opening. One that is so pleasant it will have you searching for a bottle before the dry down. The main issue with this scent is its performance. It doesn't last more than 2.5 hours. I will admit that wearing it on a hot day in Phoenix had the fragrance creating a stunning silage. This is 100% a HOT weather fragrance, meaning if you wear this under 85 degrees it will not perform. It needs heat to radiate and project. Considering you can get a 4.2 for under $200 makes it more compelling, but there are better freshies that perform like Xerjoff Torino 21, Goldfield and Banks Bohemian lime, and even Dior Eau Savage or Dior Homme cologne

This smells like Sprite. Bright, citrusy, slightly fizzy, and very clean. It has a light, refreshing feel that works perfectly in the heat. It smells more refined than your typical designer fresh scent, which is where the niche quality comes in. It is simple, but it does not come off cheap or basic. This is best for hot days, being outside, and anytime you just want to stay fresh without wearing anything heavy. Perfect for daytime in Florida. Performance is decent, but you will need a few extra sprays. I get around 4 to 7 hours. This is not something that is going to grab attention, but it does exactly what you want it to do. Clean, easy, and refreshing. Rating: 8.5/10

I recently did a review of this on my Youtube "Rotten Rebel". Sedley is basically a bright, minty, spicy and woody blend with lavender and it’s so good.. I love how it starts out in an airy and bright way with the focus on citrus and then how it dries down into this sexy musky and woody blend with hints of citrus, lavender, and mint in it. It's fresh in a luxurious way. Mass appealing for sure. A compliment getter. And a scent that a lot of women find attractive and a scent that most people really enjoy. If you want a luxurious fresh perfume with a citrusy and minty top above a musky and creamy woodiness then this is for you! I Really, really enjoy Sedley!

I'm not a usual fan of fresh fragrances, I typically go for more Spicy/Tobacco fragrances however when I first smelled PDM Sedley in summer this year I knew I had to buy it. I find it hard to describe the scent but I've seen a lot of people describe it as an expensive Sprite, which I sort of agree with. This may sound like it's overwhelmingly sweet or citrusy but it's not. It's very subtle and smells delicious. I think this is a great office fragrance, with the prime time to wear it being in the hotter times of the year. The performance is ok, and silage is decent too. May be slightly overpriced but I would buy it again as I genuinely love it that much.

generally speaking, this is a weak scent. Ive had my bottle for 6+ plus months now and its macerated. Now it can last 4 or so hours which is still not what you want from an expensive fragrance However i just love this scent profile ~6 sprays just gets me right for a few hours with this cologne. People say i just smell good. fresh light refreshing citrus is what you get here. Do no buy this expecting it to smell like a fizzy syrupy soda that is just not accurate Scent: 9/10 Longevity (5-8 sprays): 3-5 hours Projection: 7.5/10 This is a warm weather scent, the only scents that really need insane projections are those heavy vanillay cinnamony winter scents

This gets hype, I didn’t expect to like it. But the sample I had was the deciding factor for me. After the 3rd wear I said yeah I need this. As someone that’s had many many designers and sold them. YSL Y EDP and BDC EDP were the “blue fragrances” that were at my top before I sold them and started getting more niche. It’s simple and clean perfect for an understated yet approachable and fresh “blue” fragrance that I much prefer to all the other designers I had. It’s not sickly sweet like Y EDP, and it’s not as common or muted as BDC EDP. Great stuff. Excited to wear the heck out of this bottle as my dumb reach in the warmer weather.

Sedley is a refreshing citrus-based scent that actually lasts. It opens with an accord that reminds me of Sprite soda - bubbly/carbonated citrus with a small hint of mint in the background. After 30 minutes, this fades into a beautiful, smooth accord that reminds me of Tide laundry detergent. It sounds weird but it actually is really nice and I like it a lot. Must be the lavender. On me, it easily lasts 7-8 hours before it turns into a skin scent where all I can smell is a hint of cedar and sandalwood. Beautiful stuff and really good performance for a freshie. Perfect for spring and summer.

Opening is true to the notes listed--Citrus, lavender and mint. Ambroxan/ambery-musk is there right away, too. Pleasant, I can see why people like this one. Woods quickly start to come out in the dry down. Leaning toward subtle in a good way, NOT in-your-face demanding it be smelled with a massive synthetic cloud/sillage emanating from you. An almost-peppery-ness is starting to come out? The sandalwood is very nice, good vetiver. Subtle florals. I really like it so far...unsure about how long it will last, though...worried about staying power. A strong like, maybe not a love.

Easy blind buy. An amazing scent, and hands down the best citrusy/aromatic cologne that I have ever smelled. The best part about the fragrance is that it truly pops in the Spring and Summer time; something about the warm weather makes it so much better. It has an above average performance (diminishes to a skin scent after around 6 hours on my skin) and the sillage is slightly above average. Is it worth the retail price tag? Probably not---no fragrance really is. But practically nobody on this website buys retail anyways, so yes it is worth it if you buy from a discounter.

Amazing scent. Pricey for sure, but I get more compliments on Sedley than the majority of my spring/summer scents. Smells niche to my nose and is worth the cost. The aromatics are killer, hence the Sprite soda comparisons you see in reviews. PDM is one of my favorite brands - Sedley, Percival and Greenley are all so good for warmer weather. I was able to get samples of Sedley and it is now one of favorites to give to friends who aren’t in this community. Cool to see the reactions from them and their wives.

The batch variations w/ Sedley are all over the place. Original (best) was an addictive light literal sprite aroma w/ an airy iso-e/ cashmere dry down. Another batch was very strong & soapy. Another was off smelling synthetic. This last batch I sampled from was extremely musky/ rosemary-peppery. They all still Have that sprite scent within, but different aspects shine over that depending on the batch. I wish they never would’ve tampered with what was already perfect.

In my opinion, Sedley is close to a masterpiece! It's like enjoying a chilled glass of lemon & mint water while sat in a country club. It opens up so fresh and citrusy and then smooths out into the lavender and woods, while keeping that fresh feeling. It would work well for an office meeting, a date night, or just hanging out with old friends. To me, it is timeless, and it has an amazing, clean masculine vibe that keeps me coming back for more! 🥂
